Very nice stay, comfortable beds and welcoming staff. Good food and cozy enviroment in central Chester. The only thing that was a bit dissapointing was the was the lack of water in the shower. 10 thumbs up from Sweden.

This was our forst time visiting the King's Head and it will definitely not be the last! The pub is stunning and very cosy, complete with an open fire. The food is absolutely delicious (I recommend the steak and ale pie!) and the staff is all lovely and friendly. Really great place for a nice meal and a few drinks... More

Myself and my husband stayed here on Sunday night... We got engaged in Chester six years ago and so returned as an anniversary. We arrived to very welcoming and cheery staff, and were shown to our room where we discovered a card and bottle of wine. This had been pre arranged by family but the staff had gone out and... More

I love this place, so full of history and ghosts ;) the staff is very friendly and they look well after guests. I really enjoyed the food and drinks. The portions are generous and prices will not drain your pocket.

Stayed here for three nights between Christmas and new year 2015. Beautiful room, delicious breakfast and very friendly staff. The pub is great for dining and has a nice old world feel. Lots of lovely places to eat and drink close by. Highly recommended

Great hotel, middle of the city pretty much everything surrounds it, not far from food outlets or shops, friendly staff, off the road car parking which is a bonus and the rooms are very clean, only downside is the showers have hardly any pressure. Would recommend staying there.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Kings Head is a traditional Inn built in 1622 on the west side of Lower Bridge Street. The Inn is a few minutes walk down hill from the Cross. The name refers to when King Charles stayed at the nearby Gamul House during the English Civil War. Since buying the business in March 2012 the current owners have spent thousands of pounds trying to bring the Ye Olde Kings Head back to it's former glory. In November 2012, the property had an extensive refurbishment throughout the bar and restaurant areas, every ensuite bathroom was also replaced and redecorated to a high standard. There are currently three completed refurbished rooms, by mid December 2013 they expect every bedroom to be finished. ... more   less
