Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just left this stunning campsite after a glorious week. The managers were fantastic, very friendly, helpful and a fountain of knowledge for the local area. The site was immaculate and very well kept, you can tell Chrissie & Steve take pride in their work and make sure everyone has a great stay.

The weather was glorious and even if it hadn’t been they are well located for local attractions and there’s so much to do within a short drive. The swimming pool on site was really warm and the booking system in place ensures that social distancing is adhered to. Plenty of hand sanitiser around the site as well as clear signage about hand washing, wearing masks, their covid-19 policy and advice which everyone we saw adhered to.

Toilet blocks and showers absolutely spotless and water always hot. All in all a fantastic site and one we would visit again and recommend to others. There are plenty of sites that could learn a thing or two from this one!

The pool is brilliant, although 30min time slots available. It is warm and clean
The shower block and Loos are good and central
There is a pub which you can walk to.
The site is dog friendly
The cafe is really nice , I only had a salad and chips but they were very tasty and great service

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I've always been the person shouting about how good this site is. Yes it has excellent facilities for a small site and my initial contact with the park was brilliant, but their handling of my booking has been poor. My husband and I came in after work to the cafe and while we were there we asked at reception if there were any pitches at any point during the summer (we are local). Initially they said they were fully booked but the lovely lady on reception spoke to someone in an office and then informed me that they had a pitch which is usually used for their bell tent but due to a hole it wasn't coming out to be pitched this season. So I got to pick my date. Excellent. I paid £51 for the deposit for the 3 nights and then paid another £51 closer to the date. I was then informed that I had been close to someone who had tested positive for Covid on a home test and was waiting for PCR results. Track and trace hadn't yet been in touch but I thought it was the right thing to do (to isolate) given I'd be using shared facilities and I didn't want to be responsible for spreading Covid at their lovely park. So I called to check my options (we were due to arrive the next day) if his test was confirmed. Straight away the lady said no we aren't doing refunds anymore we had to stop all that. And we are full all summer, well in to September so we can't move the booking. The next morning we got confirmation the test was positive from our friend and I emailed to confirm we would be cancelling our booking and asked about a possible 2 night weekend voucher for next year, non school holidays. I'd paid for 3 nights but I understand they are a business so I wanted to be fair and ask for a time when I didn't expect them to be full. The reply was professional but 'I'm sorry we cannot help you with your voucher'. Well you can but you're choosing not to. Given this was for a pitch you weren't using for the rest of the season and the fact I have no doubt in this climate that you will re sell it, it's appalling customer service. I run my own business (bell tents actually) and I have refunded every single penny (including the deposit) on every occasion that a customer has had to cancel due to the pandemic. It would be morally wrong to do otherwise. For this reason I will never recommend this holiday park again and I will not ever stay here again. There are plenty of sites with compassion where I can spend the money I work hard for.

Visited this site 20th to 23rd August with my 2 children. We had a lovely stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Originally when arrived and checked in told my pitch number etc. Drove around and a motor home was overlapping onto my pitch with their awning and electric cable and a tent also pitched too far over. Went to reception and told to pitch on 16.so off I went and all good.
There were 2 parks for the kids to explore which they did and loved both. One was in the middle of the tourer area.. An outdoor heated pool which was great. Kids loved it and wanted to stay forever. Had to book 30 minutes slots in the pool which was OK as meant wasn't too crowded but would have been nicer for 45 minutes slots but that's just being picky haha.
Nice lakes to have a wander around with great wildlife to see. Loved hearing the birds in a morning. Much better than the noise at night. Decent size pitch and made friends with the fellow tent pitchers..
Only suggestions I would have for negatives of improvements is that the showers are a bit of a pain as not temperature adjustable so was far too hot for my son. Overall cleanliness was good perhaps a few more mops of inside the toilets and showers would be ideal as they did become quite grassy and slippery on a few occasions. Also a dust with a broom up high as loads of spiders and webs. Trust my son to notice haha.
Ideally another sink unit for washing dishes would be perfect as was sometimes queuing for that. There's even space next to the existing one so wouldn't be too much of a bother I don't think.
Was quite noisy at night. Even after 10pm kids were outside my tent kicking the ball despite no ball game rules. And running around playing tag and stuff which is a bit annoying when mine are younger and were settling down for the night
Wasps were a real pain constantly 5 or 6 in the tent and around the parks and toilets obviously not the sites fault but just an observation really definitely needed a trap or something like they had near the front of the park..
There's a lakeside cafe but we didn't try it as my son has additional needs and was flapping about the wasps so we avoided a meltdown.
Tennis courts where u can hire the bat's etc and a games room which we did go in but there was a man painting murals in there so didn't want to disturb or get in the way so we didn't stay long.
Overall not to bad of a stay, we usually go further afield but decided to stay local as my sister had a young baby but sadly they and the 2 dogs actually didn't end up coming due to the weather forecast

On arrival, we were placed in a pitch that was absolutely sodden. My children could not even stand on the grass without sinking into the mud we had to position our caravan on the hard standing in a way to put up our awning to avoid the huge puddle on the gravel; half way through erecting the awning, my husband and I decided that the overwhelming stench of sewage was unbearable. After a trip back to reception they did offer us another pitch, which we accepted but had already wasted an hour of our holiday setting up at the original site.
The new pitch was just as sodden, the worst drainage on a site I have ever come across.
Secondly, after being informed by some staff that we could book the pool on any day of our holiday, I wasted another hour of my holiday sat outside the office only to be told my the rude and self important receptionist behind the desk that we couldnt book the pool on the day if check out. I had asked to book for 10am for a half hour slot to check out at 11am, even when asking if my husband could get the caravan ready for checkout at 11am and I could take the children to the pool, the answer was still no. What a way to end the holiday!

The entire site can only be described as a quagmire, the children could not play on the grass without getting drenched in wet mud. The park is covered in litter- half eaten pot noodles, crisp packets and odd socks litter the sand.

The ONLY good thing about this site is how close it is to other attractions and how easy it is to escape this awful site and still make the most of your holiday.

We will NEVER return to this site when we have visited so many other nice sites with polite staff and a clean environment.

We stayed at manor wood last week 9/9/22 to 16/9/22 there was a party of 8 adults 1 x 18 month and 1 x 7week old baby. I can honestly say when we arrived and went in we were blown away by the house it was amazing!!!. The pictures don’t do it justice, we didn’t want for anything. I’m a keen fisherman, I had the best weeks fishing caught a few large carp and loads of roach of varying sizes. The rest of the family enjoyed the pool table, tennis courts and heated swimming pool. We had breakfast in the on site cafe, great food, good price and served by lovely people really set you up for the day! Had a day at Chester zoo 20 mins away and if you have children in the party you must visit the ice cream farm our grandson had a ball 10 mins away £2.50 admission.
Night time we ate out at the Cheshire Cat fantastic food and ate at the house, the cafe do pizzas to order if you don’t feel like cooking. I have read a few reviews complaining about creaking floors! is called character and added to the experience.
We didn’t want to go home, but I can assure you that we will be back. If there was anything that could say would help my stay it would be a handrail down to the fishing platform as I’m not to steady on my feet these days ( by no way a complaint) thanks guys for a memorable family holiday.

Just got back from a fabulous 2 nights at Manorwood.
The pitch was a good size and in a perfect position, close to the toilets, kids park and swimming pool. Even though we were so close to everything we were not bothered by any noise, with the warden ensuring everyone was being respectful and quiet after 9/10pm.
The pool was great fun, although I think it would be a good idea to do 1 hour slots instead of 30 minutes as kids were just getting into the swing of it and it was time to get out.
Tennis court was great, free racquets to borrow and £1 for a ball which you then keep.
Fishing lakes were well stocked and maintained.
Didn't try the cafe but it looked nice.
All in all a relaxed and fun weekend....we can't wait to come back!

Arrived on site to find the pitch we had been told when booking we were using had changed, this was not a problem as it was still a fully serviced DELUXE pitch but our van is approx 26 ft long and the changed pitch was about half of that so was covering the grassed area (not idea) but acceptable, the issue lay in the the brown water drain. As I was going to a fully serviced pitch and to somewhere I had been before I only took what I thought would be needed ie. no wastemaster and what was enough waste hose to reach the usual drain location. However the drain was about 10ft away from the van and as my waste outlet was on the opposite side of van It was about 16ft lengt of hose needed . They did offer me alternative pitches but all with same issues. If they had informed me before hand of change and what was necessary to bring with me it wouldn't of been a problem . I only went in october 2020 because they didnt have any pitches available on more suitable dates. I did want re-book for early next season due to covid as my grandson had to be tested close to arrival date (thankfully a negative test result) but Manorwood would only give me till the end of January (if it was negative) rather than the end of the season like most other sites in the UK but I could if my grandson tested positive, loads of companion there (not)

Superb campsite 🏕️ Facilities were spotless. The swimming pool was great (booking system was run smoothly and observed by all). Pitches size were generous. We had delicious pizza on the night we arrived. Spoke to two wardens who were just lovely - one warden did do the rounds approx 10:30pm just to say about quiet times (we weren’t causing any issue, he was just doing a round and spoke to everyone) We used the showers/ playground/swimming pool/ cafe/ play areas/ wash up area - all we’ll kept and clean - Highly recommend 10/10
