Fully refurbished: comfy pocket sprung beds, Egyptian cotton linen, huge fluffy bath sheets and powerful showers all add to the experience of staying in one of Highcliffe's rooms which are decorated in a modern & eclectic style. Rooms are booked on a room only basis with breakfast an optional extra at their restaurant: INDIdog Eatery On The Harbour. This is a 15 minute walk from Highcliffe into the town centre. Situated between the beach and the harbour Highcliffe is a very good holiday base. Everything was spot on for a Covid safe stay. Parking was easy (when not available on the forecourt we parked on the road opposite which leads to the beach).

We stayed in Room No.5 which is a comfortable double with en-suite and harbour view. The chaise longue sofa under the sash window was perfect to sit on and enjoy the scenery. Coming back in the evening after a long but happy day, it was a lovely touch that there was a string of glowing lantern lights above the window gently illuminating the room.......very romantic and a much appreciated gesture.

Everything was clean and tidy with tea, coffee and fresh milk in the room. The bathroom was immaculate with plenty of high quality soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion supplied. Towels and bathrobes were provided.

We chose to have breakfast at INDIdog which is a lovely harbour-side restaurant owned by Vanessa and Simon which is either a short walk or car ride away and can highly recommend it. Luckily we had warm weather so it was a special treat to sit outside on the decking by the water enjoying a lovely cooked breakfast.

Simon and Vanessa are very hospitable hosts who make you feel very welcome and comfortable. If you're thinking of holidaying in Falmouth then I highly recommend you give this lovely Bed and Breakfast a try.

I stayed at Highcliffe for 3 nights over the August bank holiday weekend in the beautifully appointed Room 6 which is a single room that has harbour views. As someone who often travels alone I always appreciate accommodation that comfortably caters for the single traveller, and doesn't penalize them by charging a single supplement. Room 6 could possibly accommodate a double bed but it speaks to the kind of owners Simon and Vanessa are that rather than cram a double in there to maximise their return, they've created a spacious single for a solo traveller to enjoy - and enjoy I did!

The room, and indeed the whole B&B, was wonderfully decorated and every attention to detail had been made. The sheets were buttery soft, the mattress and pillows were very comfortable, there was a roman blind and curtains to keep the early morning sun at bay.

The tea making facilities included fresh Cornish milk which you can request on a daily basis, Cornish tea bags, herbal teas, and also a selection of instant coffees were provided and refreshed daily. There was even a wine glass if you fancied taking back a tipple!

The bathroom was, as is everywhere else, absolutely spotless. The towels and bath mat were fluffy, the shower hot with great pressure and the Molton Brown products reflective of the quality provided by Highcliffe.

I had breakfast at Indidog two mornings and highly recommend it. The views there are glorious, especially if you are able to book a table on the deck overlooking the harbour. The food was every bit the equal of the view: fresh, tasty, high quality ingredients, well presented and delicious. For my final breakfast at Highcliffe, I opted for breakfast to be delivered to my door and found a selection of goodies beautifully presented in a hamper: coffee, Cornish milk, freshly squeezed orange juice, the best breakfast muffin I've ever had and a yoghurt with granola and fresh berries! Truly scrummy, all of it.

Highcliffe have mitigated around every concern a person may have during these tricky times so guests can stay rest assured they are as safe there as they would be at home, probably more so! Indeed, from what I experienced, Devon and Cornwall have been much more cautious, mindful and prepared than other places I have experienced since the lifting of lockdown.

I have no reservations in thoroughly recommending Highcliffe Contemporary B&B. This is by far, one of the nicest B&Bs I've ever had the great pleasure of staying at, and certainly I've never known any B&B, or in fact hotel, go to so much trouble to attend to every detail. It is clear that an enormous amount of time and energy is invested in Highcliffe by Simon and Vanessa. They have gone out of their way to ensure guests' needs are met and exceeded. I consider myself lucky to have nabbed a room there over the Bank holiday weekend and will be sure to book with plenty of advance notice next time as I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Falmouth.

We had a lovely stay at Highcliffe! Overall we felt that Vanessa and Simon have gone far and beyond to meet the covid-19 safety rules whilst also preserving the holiday feeling for their guests. During our stay and in order to maintain social distancing, we opted for the option of having breakfast in our room. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and delivered in a cute hamper each morning which made a very exciting start to the day ahead. The rooms are also furnished to a high standard, and the B&B is a short 10 min walk to Falmouth town centre. We would love to come back!

Highcliffe is centrally located, only 200 yards from Castle Beach and a 10 minute walk to the town centre shops and harbour. The lounge and our bedroom were luxuriously decorated and fitted out in a modern contempory style. All rooms had high ceilings giving them a light and airy feel. The king sized bed, crisp white sheets and black out curtains made for a comfortable stay. Our bathroom with shower was rather compact but the Moulton Brown toiletries and large white bath sheets provided some added luxury. Unfortunately, the shared lounge was off limtes due to covid but access was allowed to obtain gin, beer, and soft drinks from the honesty bar. Fresh milk could be taken from the lounge drinks fridge although there was no room in the fridge for personal use.
Covid and managemnt style means there was almost no contact with the owners or other guests. Check in and out was done by email. During our 3 night stay we bumped into Vanessa once in the car park and Simon greeted us and showed us to a table at breakfast. We were however surprised that neither of them spoke to us when dining in their restaurant even though they were both on the floor.

We have just enjoyed a lovely short stay the Highcliffe and couldn't fault it. The room has clearly been designed and fitted out to ensure you have the best possible nights sleep - large bed, quality linens, black out blinds etc. All of which you imagine to be common practise in hotels and b&b's but very often not the case.
The contact free check in was seamless and the whole place was spotless.
The breakfast delivered to the bedroom was the icing on the cake, quality ingredients and delicious - how i would like to be woken up every morning!

Vanessa and Simon are the warmest, most accommodating hosts you could hope for. Highcliffe is a cosy and refreshingly modern haven nestled within Falmouth, a stone’s throw away from the beach on one side and the town centre on the other. The quality of our room was superb. The little extras made all the difference: from the soft crisp bed sheets, bathrobes and Molton Brown toiletries to the daily fresh Cornish milk. For our day of sun we were recommended secret beaches to explore, whilst days of rain were made brighter by waking up to the delight of a very special breakfast in bed (I’ll keep that a surprise!). We left feeling and looking visibly de-stressed, thus our wish was fulfilled. We hope to return as soon as we can! Thank you for everything Vanessa and Simon.

My wife and I visited in September 2020, just as the talk regarding a second lockdown resumed, and as Covid fears heightened again. Thankfully however, we were able to leave all that at the door when staying at Highcliffe, as Vanessa and Simon have created a safe oasis of calm amongst the madness. They have implemented all the safety precautions you would expect and hope for, and yet have managed to retain the relaxed, friendly, and chic feel that marks them out as a cut above other B&Bs. The in-room breakfasts are of the high quality you’d expect from a couple who also run the sleek Indidog eatery on Falmouth harbour, whilst the stunning rooms themselves look like they’re straight from the pages of a high-end interior design magazine. The location of Highcliffe is fantastic as well, and it’s a great base from which to explore Falmouth and the wider area. In short, we could not recommend Highcliffe highly enough - if you need to look anywhere for the way forward in B&Bs during the Covid age, look no further than here. Give Vanessa and Simon a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Stayed for three nights at this charming and well situated b and b and can recommend it highly. Reassured by the comprehensive briefing notes and won over by the socially distant but warm and friendly welcome from hosts Simon and Vanessa. Fantastic breakfasts served either in your room or at Indidog the restaurant they also own ( see separate review) and impressed by the cleanliness and attention to detail. Very welcome at a time when holidays and good cheer are in short supply.

This isn’t our first visit to Highcliffe and I have to say the standard has remained consistently high. The room was stylish, clean, comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous with a bath and separate shower, a real indulgence. The weather was extremely changeable so to return to this room to get warm and dry again was bliss. We were able to make ourselves tea or coffee(with fresh milk) In our room. One day we had breakfast in our room - a picnic breakfast- quite a feast really! Don’t miss out on eating at their restaurant in town, you will NOT be disappointed - but book!

Response from Vanessa Clark, Owner at Highcliffe House
Responded 26 May 2021
Hello. May I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your lovely and kind feedback. I admit we have been a little bit nervous, a little bit excited and altogether delighted to open but not knowing what to expect. So thank you for being such a lovely guest as it means more than I can possibly say on Tripadvisor. I am so pleased you were able to have a holiday - even despite the record breakfast wet May! Even more pleased that we didn't let you down. I really look forward to seeing you again and one last "thank you" for trusting us with your much deserved break. Best wishes Vanessa

We spent 4 nights at Highcliffe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Vanessa greeted us on arrival and we were able to check in several hours before we were expecting to which was an added bonus.

Our room was gorgeous, and looked just like the pictures online which is sometimes not the case! It was bright, fresh and airy, and beautifully decorated. We stayed in room 2 which offers a huge bay window and giant window seat (more like a sofa!), and the walk in rain shower was lovely. A highlight for me was the Molton Brown toiletries and the lovely waffle dressing gowns. Our room was cleaned daily and I was impressed with the attention to detail as even the mint tea bags were replaced daily, I didn't need to ask.

Before our arrival, Vanessa was really helpful with recommending restaurants and activity ideas, all of which were advisable to book in advance due to a lot of places operating with COVID measures in place.

We also enjoyed 2 delicious breakfasts at Vanessa & Simon's restaurant, INDIdog, which was faultless! It definitely exceeded our expectations - the food and coffee were both delicious and the service was spot on. Highly recommend!

As and when time allows, we will definitely be back to stay again.

Thank you! :)

Dear Sir, I'm afraid your question didn't incude the dates you are looking to holiday in Falmouth so sadly I am unable to double check if there are any other rooms available. I'd like to check to make sure that you have the correct information as Rm3 is the only which does not have a king size bed. All our other doubles are larger than Rm3 which is an antique French bed. Please do write and tell me a little more about your plans and I will do my upmost to help you. Even if Highcliffe can't accomodate you I can certainly help with the area. Yours sincerely Vanessa
