Without a doubt I would recommend Highcliffe House, the space was beautifully decorated and the attention to detail was superb, everything was thought of! The process of checking in was easy and straightforward. We knew that breakfast wasn't included however this gave us the opportunity to explore places around Falmouth with recommendations from Highcliffe in the information pack in the room. The connections to local eateries was a great touch giving you insight to what Falmouth had to offer, especially the IndiDog restaurant, the food and service was amazing. Highcliffe House is a great find in a perfect location, I would definitely stay again.
We would highly recommend this gorgeous B&B. The rooms are lovely; very well decorated and all the space you'll need. We stayed in room 5 which had great views across the town and harbour. The station is just a few minutes walk away but it was very peaceful and quiet at night. The owners are absolutely lovely, very welcoming and accommodating, making you feel right at home. We had breakfast at their restaurant Indidog, on the harbourside which had very good food and an amazing view. Would definitely recommend staying at Highcliffe House and would happily book a room there again.
Extremely comfortable, very good support and service and incredibly efficient use of technology. A very special place. No breakfast on site but this was an opportunity to visit other hotels as well as the owners’ own restaurant in the centre of town. That was very good but a 15 minute walk rather than the 20 minutes claimed
This was our 3rd visit to Highcliffe B&B & yet again we had an excellent stay. We were lucky enough to have an upgrade to our room. Our room was spacious, clean with great views & a comfy cushioned large seat in the bay window. The bathroom was lovely with a big walk-in rain shower. The bed was large & comfy. I was a bit concerned about breakfast but enjoyed the surprise every day of what we would get. The bacon roll was wonderful as were the pancakes. We saw Vanessa a few times & also Simon in their restaurant Indidog & as always they were so friendly & had time for a chat. We ate at Indidog one night & the food was excellent & nothing too much trouble. We also had their large breakfast which beat us. The food was superb as was the staff. Parking on site is a bonus. Short walk into town or down the hill for a bus which takes you around Falmouth. As someone already mentioned we wouldn't contemplate staying anywhere else either. Thank you Vanessa & Simon for yet another perfect stay & your kindness.…
We stayed at the Highcliffe bnb for three nights in august 2021. We had an amazing stay and really enjoyed our time there. The room was perfect and the interior design of the bnb was lovely. The only thing we would have liked was to have had the option to have had breakfast at the bnb in the breakfast room. The breakfast at indidog was so amazing but it is a 20 minute walk away which stopped us from getting out exploring early on. We also would have liked to have been able to check in in person as all covid restrictions had lifted when we visited. The contactless check in felt slightly impersonal. Simon and Vanessa were lovely and very accommodating when we did bump in to them though. Overall we had an amazing stay and would happily return.
Parking was for 6 cars for an 8 bedroomed B&B. Lounge facilities provided alcoholic drinks with an honesty box. Rooms were spacious and clean with adequate bathroom facilities. Although informed towels would not be changed during our stay because of covid, housekeepers entered the room daily to make bed, empty bins and refresh tea tray which seemed contradictory.
We have just stayed at Highcliffe again for part of our holiday and we wouldn’t ever contemplate staying anywhere else Simon and Vanessa work so hard to ensure that everything is perfect and it always is The B&B is spotless and luxurious and welcoming and everything that you need is catered for and if it isnt you only have to ask and its there for you We had breakfast at Indidog and at Highcliffe and both breakfasts were 10 out of 10 and ALL the staff are friendly and accommodating We love it here and have found our Falmouth place to stay and from our first visit years ago which we have repeated each year its still just as good as our first trip Well done Simon and Vanessa xx
We spent 4 nights at Highcliffe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Vanessa greeted us on arrival and we were able to check in several hours before we were expecting to which was an added bonus. Our room was gorgeous, and looked just like the pictures online which is sometimes not the case! It was bright, fresh and airy, and beautifully decorated. We stayed in room 2 which offers a huge bay window and giant window seat (more like a sofa!), and the walk in rain shower was lovely. A highlight for me was the Molton Brown toiletries and the lovely waffle dressing gowns. Our room was cleaned daily and I was impressed with the attention to detail as even the mint tea bags were replaced daily, I didn't need to ask. Before our arrival, Vanessa was really helpful with recommending restaurants and activity ideas, all of which were advisable to book in advance due to a lot of places operating with COVID measures in place. We also enjoyed 2 delicious breakfasts at Vanessa & Simon's restaurant, INDIdog, which was faultless! It definitely exceeded our expectations - the food and coffee were both delicious and the service was spot on. Highly recommend! As and when time allows, we will definitely be back to stay again. Thank you! :)…
We last stayed here back in 2012 when the B&B hadn't been open very long but was already generating amazing reviews from the likes of The Guardian, Lonely Planet and Tripadvisor. Needless to say, we had an amazing time. Naturally, when planning another, long overdue visit to Falmouth this summer, Highcliffe was our first choice. Obviously, things were a little different this time, but the Covid-19 contactless check-in process was seamless, the free parking was plentiful and our room (Room 5 – the same one we stayed in back in 2012) looked like no one else had stayed in it for the past 9 years – it was absolutely spotless and, like our hosts Simon and Vanessa, hadn't aged a bit. The comfy king-size bed, power shower, luxury Molton Brown toiletries, harbour view and ideal location (the beach, town centre and harbour area are all a 5-minute walk away) were just as we remembered. The only change was that breakfast has now been moved down to INDIdog Eatery on the harbour (a 10-minute walk away), which Vanessa and Simon also run. The Highcliffe breakfast was a highlight of our last trip, but INDIdog's was, dare I say, even better – especially the Arnold Bennett omelette (probably the best in Cornwall). It was great to see the high standards and attention to detail have been maintained, even through these most testing of times. Our thanks to the whole team for making our stay such a pleasant experience once again. We look forward to staying at Highcliffe again soon!…
My partner and I stayed at Highcliffe in July 2021, just as Covid restrictions were beginning to lift in England. This was our third stay at Highcliffe, and we couldn't be happier. We had a beautiful room on the top floor with amazing view of the town and harbour. Despite the pandemic meaning that Simon and Vanessa were unable to provide breakfast downstairs in the dining room, the standard of food and service was still excellent. We had breakfast delivered to our room each morning, and Vanessa was even able to cater for specific dietary needs.
