Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were excited to be going to Caradon as it had a bar and food, usually we cook our own, plus a games room. We wanted to spend some money here celebrating our last camp of the year. Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short because the way tents are required to be pitched are not at all suitable during windy weather. We had chosen a large pitch with EHU (No 28) as two sides were sheltered by hedge and one side sheltered by a high fence (although pitch extremely muddy). Storm Agnes was due but we were told we couldn't put our tent back to the wind as pitching had to go car-tent-car-tent along the field facing the grass 'road' - looking back we should have refused. We were told it was fire and safety rules to be 6ft apart. We agreed with this but not the position we had to pitch our tent, obviously just for the site's aesthetics and not for any health and safety reason. On the day of the storm the wind hit our tent sideways on. Had we been able to pitch as we had asked, for stability and protection, we wouldn't have had to request reception to send people to help hold our air beam tent down to save it blowing away. Two people kindly came over and helped us pack up the tent in the wind. Due to the way tent people have to pitch their tents on this site, we will not be returning. It’s a shame as the facilities were clean and the bar (although closed for 2 days during our visit) looked inviting.

We had a fabulous few days at Camping Caradon. It has new owners and they have maintained the high standards of cleanliness set by previous owners. The facilities were always clean and never busy or overcrowded. There are two family/disabled bathrooms with showers which are great when you take young children camping. The bar opens Wednesdays - Sundays and the food is delicious but you must pre order! This is a quiet site which is great when you’ve young children or don’t want to be up late. The previous owner of the site was very good at insisting everyone was calm and quiet after 10pm but the new owners aren’t quite as on the ball with this yet. We had a rowdy tent not far from us one night but they packed up and went the next day luckily!

What a lovely little site. Very well kept grounds, clean facilities, fabulous food in the bar/restaurant (the cheesecake is an must) and a bus to Looe & Polperro that stops at the entrance. The staff were so helpful when our tent broke in the gale force winds. I wouldn’t normally write a review, there are only 2 campsites I would ever go back to but this place has just been added to the list. What a delightful find 😁

Just spent another fabulous time at Camping Caradon. Nothing is too much trouble for the team who are now running it. Really dog friendly which is important to us, having said that there are rules that one should obey and are put there for the comfort of all guests not just dog owners. So everyone is happy. Can't wait to go back again in September. Thank you Lance, Brian, Marianne and Gezzi for being so hospitable

Stayed for a week back in April just as new people had taken over. Made to feel extremely welcome. The site was spotlessly clean. Did not feel like cooking the first night of arrival so ordered the takeaway Curry. Oh my, it was so delicious. Added bonus of bus stop at entrance so made good use of this to get to Polperro & Looe. Our dog loved the bus journeys. We will definitely be back. Thank you 😊

I don't often write reviews but felt I wouldn't be doing justice to Caradon Camping if I didn't. This is such a lovely site. The staff make you feel so welcome. The site is just perfect, bus stop right outside and walks directly from the site. We didn't move our motorhome from the time we arrived until we left, there was no need. The onsite bar and resturant was a bonus, and boy the food is lovely and you can tell it's home cooked from fresh ingreditions. They do takeway as well. The showers are piping hot and kept very clean. I cannot wait to return and almost don't want to post this review because then everyone will be visiting here!!!!

Camping caradon is a great friendly site . The owners Steve and Lene are tip top in all they do in running the site . The cleanliness of the whole site is second to none and the friendly welcome is always there,as is their help if needed. A very special couple making a very special site a great place to take a holidays. Only one complaint is about customers with dogs . Please read the rules and details as it says that dogs should be on a lead when on site and exercised off site . Still people let their dogs mess and wet where they want even against awnings on motor homes and caravans. Also walking through peoples pitches to take short cuts instead of using the paths. Steve and lene thank you for another great holiday with all your help and kindness. See you again next year. X

Steve and Lena run a friendly, well run and attractive campsite. We were met on arrival by Lena who provided some local maps and advice on the area. Whilst there nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a drink in their well stocked bar of an evening and enjoyed Steve's company. There is an excellent bus service to Looe, Polperro and Liskeard, the bus stop is at the entrance to the campsite. The facilities were excellent and immaculate with plenty of hot water and free showers. We will definitely be returning ourselves and recommend the site unconditionally.
