Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Marthys House with hot tub. This place is great. Small, but everything you need. Our host was lovely, showed us round and always on hand. Hot tub, amazing and in most nights. Good location and easy access to all major roads to hit Cornwall. Looe 5 mins drive down road. Will defo be back.

This is the most amazing place we’ve stayed in our beloved Cornwall. Having stayed in some of the best, this is way up there with them. Brilliant location, a short drive into Looe or Polperro or if you prefer, public transport on the doorstep.

Absolutely amazing experience, rooms were fantastic, modern and elegant. The multiple course breakfasts were delicious and we started each morning satisfied, full and happy. The hosts, Paul and Tina were very welcoming, and they have a very cute little dog!

I’m not sure what Tina and Paul could have done to improve on our stay. It was perfect from beginning to end. We stayed there for 2 weeks and I can honestly say it was the very best B&B or hotel I have ever stayed in. It was more than 5star! The little personal touches made all the difference. They were also great fun and we had lots of laughs making our stay so relaxed. The room was immaculate and the dining room was cleaned from top to bottom every day. Tina and Paul work so hard and were always ready to offer advice and ask if we needed anything. We can’t wait to go back there and have already booked for next year!

Everything about Marthy's is just perfect. Luxury rooms, decorated beautifully, with great attention to the small, but important, details and kept immaculately clean. Breakfast was scrumptious, served piping hot, perfectly cooked to order and using top quality ingredients. Lastly the hosts Paul and Tina, were such lovely genuine people who could not do enough for you and with such a warm welcome - a home from home experience. Truly Marthy's is a 5* plus B&B and we could not recommend them highly enough.

Our stay at Marthys in July this year was the third time in this beautiful part of the country. It is conveniently located within walking distance of Looe and Polperro and close to main routes further afield. We stayed in the Talland room all three times because we loved its space, bright and clean decoration and available facilities. Our hosts Paul, Tina and Tolgus are wonderful, sensitive to guests likely requirements but so friendly. Our last stay was during the Euros, the family made the England game a night to remember by making an occasion of it and hosting the evening. The next morning as with all mornings started with Paul and Tina’s memorable breakfast. Would I stay there again…..of course, would I recommend Marthys to others……of course.

Our first ever visit to Cornwall was an amazing experience which we enjoyed every single minute of. What made it even better was staying at Marthy's bnb. Paul and Tina were very welcoming, very helpful and always had a smile for you. As I'm vegan they made sure that that was catered for and made us feel that nothing would be a problem, well up to a point lol. Our room was lovely and clean, spacious and had beautiful scenery including the ocean. (I don't know about the other rooms). I would recommend this homely place with the personal touch very highly. I don't think you'll be disappointed in any way!! Thank you Tina and Paul for looking after us so well. Hopefully we'll see you in the near future. Kam G.
