Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

3 nights stayed at the Silver Birch and what a brilliant stay we had, nothing was too much trouble for the host and the breakfast was plentiful and tasted amazing. We stayed in room 6, up on the top floor, a lovely room with great views from the roof windows, the only downsize was as this was in the attic the roof was quite low, and as being over 6ft I was crouching down alot of the time. We will definitely return but request a different room . An amazing time nevertheless. Thanks again

We just spent 3 nights at the Silver Birch which is a lovely B&B. We stayed in the family loft room facing the harbour which had fsntastic views of the harbour. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and the stay was restful. Plenty of tea/coffee in the bedroom. Its very central to Looe and the station, buses and shops. Excellent breakfast. Tommy and Hoi gave us lots of ideas and guidance on Looe and surrounding area. There is just little bit of a steep hill to reach Silver birch but to be honest, this is no different to anywhere in Cornwall. We were also given lots of guidance on parking before arriving which can be tricky in Cornwall.Thank you for looking after us!

This was dreadful from start to finish. A very very steep walk from the nearest parking place so bad I had to call the owners for help with my luggage. No vehicular access or parking. Shower simply didn’t work and room was at the the third floor after a horrendous climb uphill.

Me, wife and youngest son stayed here for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year. A family run hotel that was spotlessly clean, well organised in supremely comfortable and calm surroundings. Our duluxe room overlooked Looe harbour and our breakfast room offered the same view. Breakfasts were excellent with vegetarian choices on offer as well as the traditional full English. Great location for those looking to base themselves in the heart of Looe. Our hosts were very polite and friendly. Many thanks to Tommy and his family for making our stay so comfortable.

I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Silver Birch. I highly recommend this lovely guest house. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for me. The breakfast was amazing, the poached eggs were second to none. Great location and a lovely clean welcoming guest house. Thank you 😊

We had a fantastic stay at the guest house in July. Had a lovely family room with a view on the river.. Tommy and his wife are very nice and they cook delicious English breakfast. There is a breakfast menu and you just order what you fancy each morning. We were worried not to have a parking space with the room but the Millpool public car park is very close. Fantastic location and just 5 min leisure walk to great beach. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at The Silver Birch in Looe. From the moment we arrived until the day we left our hosts were attentive and couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasurable. Tommy greeted us with a fresh orange juice and a couple of beers. We had a balcony room overlooking Looe Bay and the views were incredible. The place is spotless and tea and coffee plentiful. Breakfast was amazing and Hoa always ensured a different plate of fruit accompanied our breakfast and croissants whilst we waited were a lovely touch. Tommy and Hoa are the loveliest couple you could wish to meet. We felt at home and will definitely recommend their home to friends and family. Thank you Tommy, Hoa and of course Maxwell. From a really warm welcome to a very friendly good bye, Tommy and Hoa made us feel at home. We had a lovely ensuite room with a great view over the river and a balcony to relax on with a beer offered on arrival. The room was very clean and comfortable. Cooked breakfast both mornings were amazing and cooked to perfection. Great communication before arrival on how to get there and the best places to park the car. Lots of recommendations of local bars and restaurants in Looe and places to visit around Cornwall. There is a steep road up to the guest house, but this makes the view even better! Thanks Tommy and Hoa for being great hosts and looking after us.
