Family run, traditional Cornish bed & breakfast owned and run by Bridget and John Hocking. A stones throw from the river and beaches of Looe, the guest house is in great location on the level. Tidal Court is centuries old, and was previously the old fish shop of West Looe. The Jolly Sailor pub steeped in smuggling history is right opposite and used to be run by John Hocking's great great grand father. Great place to stay for walkers and cyclists and anyone who wants a relaxing break by the beautiful Cornish coast. You will be well looked after as Bridget's welcome is second to none. Wonderful breakfast, with many dietary options available. Dogs friendly but please enquire first.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don't know why this is still being advertised, phoned and tried to book for a stay and was told by the owner that it was no longer a bed and breakfast but is now a private residence. It is a shame, it was a nice place to stay.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Fantastic value for money, spotlessly clean, perfectly located, spacious room, and in John a fantastic host for whom nothing is too much trouble. Included a parking space and breakfast freshly cooked to order every morning. Will definitely be heading back there.

Stopped here for two nights as we were in Looe for a couple of days fishing on Bee-Cool. Super breakfast and comfy bed. Lots of character. Would stay again. John looked after us very well. 2 minutes walk to the ferry from West to East Looe.

If you want modern and contemporary this ain't the place for you. What I will say if you want a blast from the past and to feel chilled your onto a winner. Just what I needed from the rat race that is Manchester. John looked after us with his lovely manner. Beds really comfy. Heating, perfect temperature. Great location for absolutely everything in Looe. Enjoyed our 3 nights in beautiful Cornwall.

Although not luxurious it was an enjoyable stay. John, the proprietor was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was at the top of the building with low ceilings and solid beams and I actually bumped my head on them 3 times. The breakfast were good and well cooked although there was not a great deal of choice. One of the advantages of Tidal Court is that there is car parking available, although it was about 200 yards up a steep hill. All in all worth a visit.

Fifth time we have stayed at the Tidal Court. Always very pleasant and accomadating. Good plentiful breakfast. Lots of choice of cereals. We had a room with single and double bed in with shower. There was a mini fridge in the room, which was very useful. John our host was extremely friendly and helpful.

I can't give this B&B any score at all. Frankly it was dirty and smelt bad. It was last decorated around 1970, and this was possibly the date it was last cleaned. I think it is possibly the most tatty and disappointing place I have ever stayed. I didn't speak to the owner about my negative experience as the only solution would be to completely refurbish the place.

We stayed here for 3 nights in August. This is a no frills b&b and you get what you pay for. This b&b is located in what appears to be several traditional fisherman’s cottage. Our room was located up two flights of stairs and unfortunately for us did not have a shower only a bath complete with jug to wash your hair... the room was quite large and light and surprisingly quiet. The hosts were lovely people and I would have no hesitation recommending this property to people on a budget.

Really great location, although the car park is a fair walk away. The owners are super friendly and we felt very welcomed. It's an old building, but the furnishing does not have to be that old. The bed is very uncomfortable, and everything else looks and feels tired. Cooked breakfast was ok. WiFi is in the lobby only, but there is a good phone signal in the rooms. Breakfast in only served 8:00 - 8:45, and there is a sign asking you not to watch TV at night.

I stayed here for a week in August - the room was clean, the beds are comfortable, there was a small tv in the room and I had kettle with tea/coffee/milk, and a mini fridge for drinks. The room is cleaned/tidied daily and fresh towels are supplied regularly. I had a shower cubicle - and small sink, with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was great - toast, cereals, and full english, served with tea or coffee and fruit juice. The owners are friendly and I would not hesitate to stay here again while in Looe.
