This is a great place to stay, we were welcomed and looked after extremely well. Good choice of breakfast, very comfortable well furnished roomwith lovely details to make one feel at home. I would recommend trying to make use of the beauty therapy facility, the best facial I have ever had!
Stayed in Cawsand, Fistral not avaiable😔 Just as good, views are great, room just right, 2 comfy chairs, good Ben, ensuite etc. Usual items provided, robes, slippers, toiletry products etc. Breakfast A1 as normal, all freshly cooked, yes you order the night before but no hassle. Thank you Rosie and David.
Cleanliness, attentiveness, breakfast - all first class! What more can we say. We were in the Fistral room - great views, plenty of space, beautiful en-suite. On site car parking - a must in Looe. Just the perfect stay for us. If Rosie and David could have organised the weather for us(storm conditions)I'm sure that they would have done. Carol & John.
Thought I would take time to write as am impartial a review as I can, following our recent one week stay at The Beach House. The establishment has terrific views of Hannafore Point, overlooking the bay. It is also a 10-minute walk to the centre of Looe. We also could not fault the cleanliness of the rooms - absolutely five stars. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before and was acceptable. However, the positives have to end there. We felt that we were unwanted from the moment that we arrived. To this day, we do not know what we had done to disappoint the crew at The Beach House? We can only think that we did not fit the unwritten criteria of the clientele that the owners expected to stay at their ‘5 star’ property, which in this day and age is hugely disappointing. In addition to the above, we encountered the following: The owners never engaged in light general conversation with us for the entire week. We felt unwanted, outcasted and awkward; even though we are decent folk, who have been brought up with respect and are easy to get along with. When asking for the WiFi password, Rosie replied ‘you don’t need that, you’re on holiday!’ (however, it was provided). My profession requires me to have access to WiFi, even when I am on holiday. The WiFi was poor - It would’ve been easier to get a connection on Mars. Upon arriving back to The Beach House on our second day, Rosie magically appeared from the darkness of the Kitchen to ask ‘Are you leaving the extractor fan on, as it will burn out?’. Now, the extractor fan is linked to the lighting in the en suite. We wouldn’t have done that, other than when we were using the facility. One morning we were sitting in the seated area when David came in and asked us not to leave ‘underwear or tissues on the floor’. We were gobsmacked, as used clothing was being instantly placed back in the suitcases and we hadn’t used any tissues. By midweek, the additional pillows were removed from the rooms, never to return. There was one windy morning whereby the wind caught the sliding door, which caused me to shut it harder than normal. Rosie shot to the window, quicker than a speeding bullet, to shout ‘DON’T SLAM THE DOOR LIKE THAT - WE’LL HAVE NOTHING LEFT’. I was offended, but not at all surprised by the response. There was an occasion at breakfast I was missing a fork, so I asked David for one. I think he thought I had stolen it, from his response of ‘one was laid on the table’. He went and got me the said utensil, but I could sense him scouring the floor. I felt like turning out my pockets when I vacated the table. When we were ready to leave, the team were still in the Kitchen (where they could clearly see us). No pleasantries were exchanged. The room keys were left, bags were packed, engines were started and the stress of ‘standing to attention, officer on parade’ was alleviated with every mile gained on the way home. In conclusion - A family-run Hotel which is spotlessly clean and doesn’t come cheap; but don’t expect that ‘home from home’ experience (more Alcatraz), if your face doesn’t fit.…
Just had another lovely holiday with David, Rosie and Alex who are the perfect host's and gave us a most wonderful holiday. Cleanliness, food and hospitality second to none as always. Thank you. We will be back again. Colin and Julie. x
