This hotel is a great place to stay, the host Ella and her family make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The rooms are fantastically maintained and the breakfasts are individually cooked to order using local produce, free onsite parking with great views over the river.

Such a relaxing stay here, it’s like home from home. It’s a small friendly family run hotel with very comfortable rooms. We had the Dove room which had wonderful views over much of the estuary in Looe. You could spend hours just watching the tides coming and going and the wildlife and boating activity on there. The room was very comfortable with a modern 43” tv, fridge (daily stocked with fresh milk and bottled water), kettle and a selection of teas and coffee. Large en-suite bathroom with shower and bath. There’s a large comfortable public lounge with a very well stocked honesty bar and garden furniture and summer house to enjoy the views from outside. You’ll be well looked after by the lovely Ella and her family, the rooms are spotlessly clean and the included breakfast is made to order and Ella strives to cater for all dietary requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and definitely recommend a stay there any time of year. It’s across the road from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the town and sandy beach. Just a word of warning to less mobile people, the hotel is a bit of a climb, either up the steep drive or the 57 steps, but the view up there makes it all worth it!

On arrival although early we were made very welcome and given a much needed refreshment after our long drive down. The accommodation was excellent with a marvellous view over the river. The breakfast had lots of choice all cooked to order and nothing was too much trouble for our friendly host. The room was spotless and refreshed everyday. We would definitely go back .

This 5 star hotel is stunning. The views are outstanding. The breakfast is wonderful and the coffee's on offer are second to none. Our room on the first floor was booked at short notice but the room was absolutely perfect with a great shower . We will return soon.

Beyond the great showers, fantastic views and most delicious breakfasts, the true draw of Trehaven is Ella and her family. Out of the 10 places we stayed in England, this if the only place where we felt more like friends than guests. Because of my forgetfulness, Ella drove to Liskeard train station to give me the iPad I'd left. I'd like to return to Looe soon and hoping Ella and her family will visit us first.

On arrival was warmly welcomed by our hosts. Ella was utterly charming and provided some much needed refreshments. We were shown to our room which was spacious, well decorated and had the usually extras associated with a mainstream hotel. The room and en suite were spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and there was ample space for clothing. The location means you are conveniently positioned for a short walk to all the town’s facilities, but the hotel is still in a quiet position so that windows can be left open overnight if you so wish. Breakfasts are of a high quality and prepared on an individual basis. You cannot find any fault with anything offered. Ella and Neil ensure that nothing is too much trouble and can offer advice on walks, restaurants and local places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend the Trehaven to others as there was nothing to fault. Would certainly return if we visit this part of Cornwall again.

This place is fantastic, extremely welcoming hosts, lovely views over the estuary.Good value for money and one of the best breakfasts anywhere.Spotlessly clean, good tea and coffee facilities, there are a few steps down to the road that could be a problem for people with mobility issues however I would really recommend a stay here.

Neil and Ella are fantastic hosts, the room (Egret) was clean with beautiful decoration and the shower was amazing (great pressure). We arranged a late check in due to work / traffic and were met with welcome drinks and a smiling face. Also, the view is amazing! Leaving the best until last the breakfasts are not to be missed, cooked to order and delicious - can especially recommend the "Ella's Vegetarian Breakfast" (I had a non-vegetarian version but it was amazing). Will be staying again

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of October. We very much enjoyed our stay the hosts were very good, the rooms good with a walk in shower in the bathroom. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and it was well cooked and presented, the coffee was really good. Only downside is the steep bendy drive to get up to the hotel, but you get an excellent view over the river.
