The guest house location is great: quiet, close to the core of Looe and its beaches, has a lovely view on the river and is very a good starting point for some hiking trails (i.e., for Polperro or in the woods). Everything, including rooms, was exceptionally well kept and clean. The hosts/staff are some of the best hosts we met in our trips: welcoming, kind and extremely available to help with good suggestions for what to visit, where to eat, etc. The breakfast with river view is superb. Definitely recommended!
We stayed earlier this month at the Deganwy for 6 nights. Our 1st time in Looe and booked here on the back of good reviews. We had a warm welcome from Dave & Donna who gave plenty of local information and offered to book any restaurants for us. We had originally booked the Premier room but on arrival were told this was not ready for a few days so were given the standard double. We were quite disappointed at this as apparently some guests had been moved to another hotel but this wasn't an offer to us and we were not informed before arrival. We took the double at the lower rate, we could have moved after a few days but was too kych hassle to pack up and move everything. Our room was fine though the ensuite and particularly the shower were tight. Clean but could've been cleaner (bin not emptied before check in, would've been nice for the room to be hoovered mid stay) and please ditch the brown towels for the white as they were old and rock hard! We had an issue with the toilet which was actually our fault but this was dealt with quickly and with minimum fuss. Breakfast was fantastic. Cooked to order, fabulous full fry up, creamy scrambled eggs cooked so well by Dave. Unfortunately as more guests arrived we gradually went down the pecking order and got further and further away from the window seats! It was my birthday whilst staying and Dave & Donna decorated the breakfast table, gave me a card and played birthday music which was such a lovely touch. Would we stay again? Maybe if we ever came to Looe again we would as its in a good location and Dave & Donna are lovely, genuine people who want you to enjoy your stay. We recommend eating out at the Old Sail Loft, Pepe's Tex Mex, Ocean & Earth and the Old Salutation. …
This B&B is located in the centre of Looe and a 3 minute walk to the train station! Dave and Donna where fantastic hosts, the room was clean and the breakfast was top notch and even had beautiful view!!! Will definitely stay again!!!
We never booked to stay here ,but turned up on the off chance . We were shown the room and it was lovely, everywhere was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a very warm welcome from the owners Dave and Donna . They made our stay perfect and made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was to much trouble for them . Dave's breakfast was fantastic along with his humour, always willing for chat . Both down to earth people . We would recommend this place to stay to anyone going to Looe.
Another brilliant stay here, Donna and Dave never fail to impress us, they do a brilliant job and they’re the best hosts you could possibly ask for, we will be returning 100% and cannot wait to do so, wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.
