The Portbyhan Hotel is situated in an unrivalled position right in the heart of Looe, allowing guests to relish the panoramic views of the vibrant harbour with only a short stroll into Looe town. The Edwards family, who operate an award-winning holiday company in South Wales, purchased the hotel in June 2013 and have since invested over £2.1 Million in a full-refurbishment of the exterior, bedrooms, restaurant, bar and public areas. These renovations, the location and the excellent services that the hotel offers have all contributed to the Portbyhan Hotel recently winning “Best Individual Hotel” at the prestigious National Coach Tourism Awards. Our public areas are also open to non-residents therefore if you are passing and wish to meet the team, sample our locally sourced cuisine or simply relax and enjoy a cold beverage on our roof top garden, please feel free, we would love to see you!

Arrived to the most wonderful welcome. Given tea/coffee while our cases were taken to our room. Such a varied choice for dinner, which was delicious. Breakfast buffet is every bit as good as you'll find in a 4*hotel. Room was spotlessly clean. Staff can't do enough for you.

We were given a groupon meal deal as a present - We booked for lunch 6th March - i ordered slow cooked lamb shank - the meal was barely edible - two thirds of the lamb was fat and the lamb looked like it required a further 2-3 hours cooking - if the item is not ready to serve

Hi Liskeard2 First off can we thank you for taking the time to review our hotel, it means a lot to us, We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your dinning experience here with us, we receive extremely high praise especially toward the lamb we serve, we have investigated this matter within the team who were working that day, and although the waitress acknowledged that you didn't eat much of your meal, when asking if everything was alright or if there was anything wrong with he food the reply was 'we are not feeling very well' We just wished you had been honest with us and actually told us the problem so we could of rectified it but also so we could pass this information on to our suppliers, we acknowledge that lamb is a naturally fatty meat so we inspect our range as much as we can but we cant see beyond the outside portion unless we cut into it, Please do get in contact so we can discuss thing further and try and turn your bad experience into a good one, Please get in contact by messaging the manager on manager@portbyhan.com We hope to see you again soon Regards Matthew

We had a 3 course lunch yesterday at the Portbyhan Hotel in Looe and it was excellent. The starter was delicious, the steak for the main course was one of the best I have had and the cheesecake dessert was brilliant. The service was very friendly and efficient and it is

Hi Hannah Thank you for your message, I am personally on Vodafone and don't have any real issues with signal at the hotel, I sometimes loose it in my office and in the corridors occasionally but overall id say its one of the better phone signals in the hotel, if worse comes to worse there is an in room phone you are more than welcome to use, if you have any further queries then please don't hesitate to contact us, Thanks Matthew
