Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room was very clean and provided what we needed. All the staff without exception were polite and friendly. Great bar as well, with a good selection of Gins which my partner and I enjoyed. Recommend this Inn to anyone who is looking for a place to stay while visiting the local area. And the views from the rooms and bar are outstanding.

We visited this place to eat as a family with a small puppy, We picked the Harbour Moon Inn as it advertises itself as dog friendly and for us that is very important. On arrival we found a table for four by the bar which had been cleared since the previous guests had sat there but it definitely had not been cleaned as there was lots of food still on the table, this is not a massive problem for me and I sorted it myself with a couple of serviettes, I ordered drinks from the bar and asked for a menu which I was told to collect myself it was at this point I noticed a sign asking for no dogs on the sofas which I fully understand and agree with. We ordered food and sat and enjoyed our drinks. As we had a puppy with us and she likes to eat any foods she can get off the floor we are constantly checking that she doesn’t get anything in her mouth that would harm her and we noticed the floor around and under the tables was absolutely filthy and we were in a constant battle to keep her away from the food stuff on the floor, we asked if we could perhaps have a dustpan and brush so we could brush the floor around our table this was handed to my daughter and she got on her hands and knees and cleaned the floor as much as she could. Once we had finished eating and were waiting for the pool table to become available I picked up my pup and sat her on my knee whilst sat on a wooden chair next to the table as there was still plenary of stuff on the floor that I didn’t want her to get to and was very rudely told “she shouldn’t be up there” and was asked to put her down. This is absolutely NOT a dog friendly place to eat it is more a place that will tolerate dogs a bit but would prefer if you didn’t have one. The only thing I can say is the food was very good and if you don’t have a dog or like your surroundings to be too clean then it’s worth a visit.

Young male staff with attitude. Supposedly dog friendly but made to feel as if having a dog about is too much trouble. Had to ask 3 times for water on a hot day - was told water bowls were outside. They weren’t. Staff member did look & said didn’t know what had happened to them but offered no alternative. Ordered 3 plates of chips (quite nice) but again had to ask 3 times by which time we’d them almost 15 mins. Need different staff or a different attitude. On the positive, relatively nice interior with an okay small outdoor seating area overlooking harbour.

My husband and I popped in for a pint after a walk around the harbour and town. Such gorgeous warm day we opted to sit outside and enjoy the harbour view. I loved the decor of the pub inside which also has a restaurant with plenty of seating both inside and outside

What a terrible bar. Had a fabulous weekend in Looe but this bar was the absolute worst part of our weekend. Beer very poor when we actually managed to get a drink at 9.45 on Friday but the bar is obviously not run by anyone who cares. Not sure who is the owner but they obviously just leave the young guys at the back of the bar to decide when to close. Tried 9.45 again on Saturday “we have closed”, tried again Sunday at 9.20pm, “we have cash up buddy”. What a poor poor excuse for a bar, do yourself a favour and give it a miss until it gives a s**t about its customers

Do not pay attention to the negative reviews. I genuinely think they have reviewed the wrong restaurant. The food here is some of the best food my partner and myself have ever eaten from a pub. Recommend the curry and the steak pie. We were so well looked after and they couldn’t do enough for us. They were so quick to get our drinks / advise on the menu. Will deffo be back again. 5 stars. And a fantastic view of the harbour.

Unfortunately this is not the Harbour Moon of 2 years ago that I remember. Just returned from 2 days staying at this Pub with rooms. It is very poorly run by staff that give the impression they would rather be somewhere else. If rooms don't get serviced it doesn't appear to matter to them ,just a shrug. Customers maybe a nuisance to them but at least they could try and not show it. it seems to be run on a shoestring and I doubt it will prosper, spend your money elsewhere.

We visited the pub today for a late lunch after a train trip to Looe. A little disappointed we couldn’t get a Sunday Roast but the menu was still pretty good. We ordered 3 meals and all were very tasty and plentiful. The staff were really polite and friendly and made a fuss of our dog. The location is really lovely overlooking the harbour and we enjoyed our visit.

I visited with my family and our dog whilst on our Easter holiday. We had a table with a lovely view across the harbour. The attraction of the pub was that it was opposite the busy shops on the opposite harbour side. The staff were really friendly and the food was well priced, delicious and well presented. The service was very good and I would definitely recommend it to other families visiting Looe.

My wife and I came in here for a mid afternoon drink as all the bars on other side of bridge were mobbed as it was a beautiful sunny day..We had a seat at the window and the view was very nice looking across harbour to other side. The bar was quiet at first but got busy very quickly for people looking for food,we didn’t have any but the dishes we saw other people having looked lovely. The decor in bar was just as I like it and if we had been staying would have made a night of it.Really enjoyed the lager and staff were very friendly as well.recommended.
