Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our host was such a lovely lady, went out of her way to welcome us and make us feel welcome. I would definitely stay here again. The room was very clean, and the breakfast was gorgeous. Only a few mins from the centre of Newquay. Great veggie options for breakfast, too. Free parking as well.

Alderberry Lodge was our last stop in the UK before we went home. Amanda is a wonderful host and even accommodated our unexpected extra day at the Lodge because of airline issues. Her B&B is beautiful and she has thought of everything a traveler might need in her rooms. The beds are comfy, the bathrooms are clean and the shower was nice and hot. Even located on a busy street, the rooms were quiet at night. There is room for off-street parking as well. Amanda makes a superb English breakfast and also offers overnight oats, fruit, cold cereals and just about anything else you could want, including delicious coffee. Alderberry Lodge is about a 5 minute walk down a hill from the downtown Newquay area and we made the trek both ways. Amanda made great suggestions for restaurants and getting to/from the airport. We would recommend Alderberry Lodge and Amanda's hospitality to everyone.

Best service ever in a B&B Nothing was too much trouble from the lady meeting us on arrival and giving us our key was a total five star experience. The room was very clean and presentable topped off with a fridge which came in handy for other fellow tea drinkers

The room was clean, the bed was confortable ,and the hostess could not do enough to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable , the breakfasts leave nothing to chance with choices everywhere and catered to your every need . The room is a little on the small side with no room for a chair which is a shame, but you can only work with whats available , the stairs are on the steep side for us oldies . and parking whilst provided was not ideal as 1 space is perfect but the other 2 either leave the car overhanging the lane or hemmed is limiting access .which to be fair never constained our use and said they would maintain availabillity to get out if required. Overall we enjoyed our stay which has resulted in this positive review, I am only listing any costraints in order to give a balanced fair review. Thanks for a very pleasant stay

Nice little B&B run by the lovely Linda! She was such a brilliant host from start to finish and made our stay very relaxing indeed. The room had all the facilities that you could want, tea/coffee station,a fan (a god send in the warm),t.v,wi-fi etc etc and with a very clean en-suite attached (which was a big thing for us as my partner has a thing with sharing a bathroom with others). Breakfast was also great with cereals and juices provided before having a full English. Chatted with the other guests and with Linda throughout breakfast which was nice. Only downsides would have to be the location which is a good 20 odd minute walk to Towan beach and depending on which side of Fistral beach you go to you're looking at 30/40 mins walk. Parking is also an issue as there are 4 rooms I think and only 3 spaces. Whoever parks in the space for room 1 can also not get out of the space unless keys are left at the lodge and Linda will happily move the cars for you if you wish to get out. Apart from that it was a really nice stay at Alderberry Lodge and would most definitely stay again! Thankyou Linda for your hospitality 😁

Thank you to Amanda who made our fist visit to Newquay memorable. The bed and breakfast was lovely and clean and always serviced daily. Breakfast certainly set you up for the day. A choice was always available and Amanda was always keen to accommodate your needs.

We only needed a one night stay in Newquay, and it was difficult to find. The hosts were absolutely lovely! The room was compact and bijoux, but had everything we needed for a one night stay. At breakfast there were other 'regular' guests who recommended the poppy fields nearby to photograph. I'm so pleased we went as we got some lovely images. If you are looking for a well located B&B with great hosts, then book Alderberry Lodge!
