Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The site is really well maintained and facilities are superb. My only gripe is pitch lay out. So you park your caravan on the very edge of your chosen pitch then your awning goes to right of caravan then your car to the right of that. But at night when your neighbours return from an evening outing their car parks right next to your caravan. Thus they wake you up. As car doors open car lights into caravan. It would be much better in my opinion that the pitch set up be car ,caravan and then awning giving everyone more privacy and peace.

Another great few days at Watergate Bay Touring Park. We had pods and some camping pitches. The pods have been spruced up for this year and remain spotlessly clean, comfortable and warm. As always the washing and showering facilities were clean and plentiful. The site seemed fairly full but there were no issues with toilet or shower availability. The shop, cafe and bar were great, the kids had a ace time at the Karaoke and disco evening. Felt like a proper holiday. Kids also spent ages in the pool and really enjoyed it. Windy as usual but never a problem. Staff all really friendly and delighted to help. We recently stayed at another much bigger park in Newquay and there is no comparison, Watergate wins hands down. We've already booked for next year. Just feels like a really, well run family site.

Nicely kept site but feels like a council estate. We stayed so our daughter and her friends could visit Boardmasters but camp with us. The idea was they could walk safely from the site to the festival and back each day. Reception is nice and the member of staff who greeted us was friendly. The site is well kept and the hard standing pitch that we were on was level and a good size. It was a standard “super” pitch and fitted our twin axle 8ft van with awning well. The mains water hook up was poor and provided only a dribble at peak usage times. I ended up filling the water hog and relying on that. The site has a small shop with very limited stock, as we were only on for a few days we didn’t really need to use it. The shop adjoins the bar and food for takeaway and eating in is ordered at the shop. This formed huge queues at busy times with people ordering food and buying from the shop. We used the food service on a couple of occasions and the food was ok. We used the bar/clubhouse once and it is a large open space with no character. The wine my wife ordered was of poor quality but my pale ale was fine. We usually avoid sites with clubhouses as we find they tend to attract a certain type of camper. We didn’t use the pool but it didn’t look very inviting. The site itself felt like a council estate. If you like sites like Devon Cliffs then this is a nice small version (based on clientele) that you’d enjoy. Regards the walk from the site to the festival-it wasn’t safe to walk at all. Especially on the dark. I opted to drive and pick up and drop off the girls each day. The site usually operate a minibus but apparently the local transport authority had put a stop it to. We wouldn’t return and if we we’re to do the same again for the festival we’d use the Caravan and Camping Club site next door

Back again this summer. Just like the previous 25 or more years. The site us excellent and very well maintained. Entertainment on every night and there’s something for everyone. Facilities are good too. Plenty of showers and toilets. Really close to the beach. The food at the par is reasonably priced and big portions too. Definitely worth a visit. Come here once and you’ll come again!!!

Just got back from our 2 week family holiday and despite the rubbish summer weather we've had this year we had a great time. The site is fantastic and spotless. with its swimming pool, play park, club house and games room there's plenty to do on site. All the staff are brilliant from the grounds staff to the bar/restaurant staff all friendly. The only small issue I had and it is small is the shower block needs some mops with some disinfectant to do the floors after having a shower. Will definitely be returning see you again watergate Bay 👍👍

Lovely site. Great facilities. Has a pool with open or closed roof weather pending. Everything you need onsite to keep the children entertained including bingo, quiz nights, karaoke & live music for the adults. Very friendly barstaff, again great with kids & dogs. There's buses available just outside the main gate if you fancy a trip up or down the coast. Theres also a beautiful coastal walk not too far from the campsite to take in the breathtaking views of the sea front and its ripcurling waves. Surfers come from far & wide to ride them. There's so much to see & do here I can't wait to come back again. This is my 1st time at Watergate Touring Park but my 2nd time visiting Watergate Bay it's self. Its just stunning & will be back next year fingers crossed if we can get booked on before it gets filled up.

A great area of Cornwall with stunning sea views and beeches all within a few miles of this site, Watergate bay campsite is family and dog friendly with a basic shop supplying a bare minimum of essential items, card payment only guys. The bar was staffed with friendly staff who were efficient and knowledgeable, note card payment only. There was entertainment each night we were there , however I must say it all starts far to late if you have little ones 8.30 - 9.00 , no entertainment for the youngsters. The pool was fine and seemed popular with others as well. Play park , tennis court and play park all received positive thumbs up from the family. Dogs are allowed off lead once you reach the dog walking area, big bonus as far as I’m concerned. Toilet /shower blocks were cleaned but could get untidy as the site was busy.

We came down very early this year, a week after our son finished his exams, and found the place extremely quiet compared to peak season. After a 2 year hiatus we returned here to find some very nice upgrades including the terrific play area for the kids, which looked amazing and wishing I was still younger. Also the cribbar was always a nice place to be with its modern decor and reasonably priced bar, but I have to say 'WOW' , you've done a fantastic job of creating a bang up to date bistro style cafe that flows seemlessly into ( I'm glad to say ' the return of a decent shop with most of the basics to hand. Then to cap it all a lovely outdoor space has been created to dine alfresco or to enjoy a welcome drink. Great additions to the site. The only downsides to Watergate bay touring park is the airport that supposedly is no longer busy, is still busy but with a lot of touch and go training flights operating there now, and also where the site is situated, right on the coastal cliffs near enough, when the wind blows it blows, so make sure you have decent pegs and plenty of them. Also the games room is definitely ready for upgrades including a new pool table which is in a dire state.

We stayed in the two static caravans on the site as a family of 7. We have been coming to Watergate Bay for many years and have loved our holidays here. The caravans were spotless and well equipped. We ate in the club a couple of nights but were disappointed as there was no entertainment at all, not even a quiz or a game of bingo! The site was busy so it was a shame. And the radio piping out loudly hardly gets you in holiday mode! The cafe only opens for breakfast at the weekends, and the bar and cafe are closed during the week until 6pm, the shop isn’t open all day either and only has pastries etc at the weekend. Very disappointing , I do understand that providing entertainment in the summer holidays and having everything open is probably more viable but rubbish for us holidaymakers who choose to come when it’s a bit quieter. Still had a fab week, and all staff on site were very friendly.
