The Hotel Victoria has one of the best locations in Newquay, central but over looking the town's main beaches. Whether you're on business or pleasure the AA 3 Star Hotel Victoria is one of Newquay's finest hotels. Sitting on the cliffs above the golden sands of Great Western Beach with stunning sea views, but with the town centre's shops, bars, restaurants and attractions all on your door step, this is the ideal setting. The Hotel Victoria's rooms are individually styled all with en-suite and many with sea views. Sea view suites have access to private balconies with stunning views of the coastline. The Victoria has an indoor pool and small gym. The hotel has limited parking available at a small extra charge. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in the public areas. Guests can join us in Senor Dick's Mexican restaurant and Berties' Irish pub, both located next to the hotel.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I found the following concerns at my first and last overnight at this Hotel. Upon returning to my car the car park was totally unlit, the surface is quite uneven too and presented various trip points given the gradient and uneven surface in the very dark hotel chargeable parking area. There were was no lighting visible on the building or sensors that may light up the car park, be very careful or have a good torch. The carpark is also open from the main road so not secure with any gates etc. The CCTV does not work either because its not functional in darkness. (I was advised this by the staff) I made a mistake by leaving a small bag by reception when we checked in. Your right next to the entry/exit swing door too. The staff were advised of my missing bag but I feel they were not interested. They advised they would check the CCTV of the reception area to maybe see what happened to my bag but they NEVER replied even after my partner called a number of times. Given the safety, security and attention for customers this gets my worse rating. My stay was on the 28th March 2024.

Bit late with this review but we went to this hotel last year to celebrate my brother's very large birthday. We had 4 rooms which all had everything we needed - my brother's room was enormous and right in front of the sea. The breakfast is amazing - buffet style and with lovely sea views. The staff could not have been better - pleasant, helpful and the biggest shout out goes to Ivan the General Manager who went above and beyond to ensure our celebrations went really well. He is a right character and cannot do enough to ensure his guests are well looked after. We are due to return next month for another family break and would not go anywhere else.

The place is very grand and clearly once was a very lovely hotel, however it feels it has gone to ruin. There is an element of you get what you pay for, as it was only £70 for the night. The staff are lovely and the room absolutely fine for the night but the bathroom was very dated, grubby and just did not feel like a hotel bathroom at all. I wouldn’t have been able to stay in that room for more then one night.

We stayed at Legacy Victoria Hotel February half term having had our Christmas booking cancelled due to closure. The hotel were incredibly kind and gave us a room upgrade to a superior sea view room as well as an extra night, and we were incredibly grateful for this. The hotel itself is beautiful, and could be stunning, however parts are definitely dated and run down, and need some love. The pool was a nice setting, but wasn't particularly clean, and though my husband took my son throughout the week, it put me off going again after the first time. The hotel was actively being cleaned whilst we were in and out, but parts of it still seemed like it needed a bit of attention. Our room on the other hand was absolutely beautiful, so spacious. The view was delightful and made our entire trip. Hearing the waves at night and waking up to the sea was the best thing ever. The room itself was clean, and our sheets and towels replaced daily. We loved our room. The only signs of wear were a slight bit of mould on the ceiling and the wallpaper peeling a bit. The breakfast was another highlight with a sea view and buffet options. Lots of full English options, different kinds of eggs upon request, pastries and cereal. The reception staff were friendly, but looked a bit bored to be there and weren't overly chatty. The manager (I believe) was extremely kind and even helped me in the lift to press the buttons when I was alone carrying my sleeping son. The breakfast staff were absolutely wonderful, very chatty and offered recommendation's when we asked of places to go, in particular a tall lady with a ponytail and a man with a northern accent - both so kind and nothing was any trouble. We absolutely loved our time at here and would return in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: The location is brilliant. Go to The Tea Room in Perranporth for the best cream tea.

Beautiful hotel , steeped in history , some beautiful architectural features throughout the building. Rooms deceptive... on entering pleasantly surprised to see a spacious , clean and bright room with a bathroom which was perfect for our needs and honesty a little home from home and lovely to get back to after a days sight seeing . All staff from cleaners to desk staff friendly , chatty and a pleasure to talk to . Felt relaxed throughput. Food brilliant and the dining area overlooks the sea , breathtaking views while having a morning coffee and filling up on fresh food . It really did add to our overall experience of newquay .. would recommend thus hotel to everyone . THANK YOU TO ALL STAFF FOR THE LOVELY STAY X

Very enjoyable 3 night stay. Booked a twin room for myself and daughter. Room spacious, clean and perfectly adequate for our needs and very warm - needed window open all night even tho we switched off radiator. Water pressure not great but wasn’t a problem. Staff very friendly and approachable and happily supplied plant based milk upon request for our room. We didn’t have breakfast here though staff offered to talk to chef as I’m vegan. Hotel clean but shabby. Stair carpet threadbare and taped in places. Good base for exploring. Will definitely stay again.

In this hotel you can feel the true Victorian era! Excellently located in the city, it offers guests a unique experience. The common areas are clean, tidy and welcoming. There is also a swimming pool but I didn't use it. It has some car parks which were certainly not insufficient in December, but in other periods I think it is less easy to park. The room was clean and equipped with every comfort. The only flaw is the bathroom window through which the wind comes in forcefully (which I blocked with a towel). The staff is polite and very helpful. Breakfast overlooking the ocean was plentiful in both English and European styles. For the price I paid 45 pounds room+breakfast+parking for two people I can only give it 10 out of 10!I suggest booking directly on their website.

Great hotel lovely room with en suite with a bath. Good pool, steam room and sauna and jacuzzi. Lovely breakfast stunning sea views and bang in the centre of everything you need. Some of the decor is a little tired but the staff were great and very helpful and accommodating.

The roomed smelled really musty. The back of the curtains were mouldy. It’s clear that this once was a beautiful hotel but it is run down and in desperate need of an update. The staff were really unfriendly. Not a pleasant stay and really can’t recommend.
