A well positioned holiday park for beach activities and walks. Situated a mile or so outside of Newquay town centre it’s a twenty minute walk to the restaurant’s and shops.

The site is predominately grass flat pitches and offer different sizes to suit your set up.
The toilet block is spot on, regularly cleaned maintained and checked. Showers are hot and there are lots of facilities here so no queueing. A quality facility.

Park staff friendly and site well maintained and pitches all mown as soon as someone leaves. No litter and people seemed to be respective of one another quieting down at a reasonable time.

The let down to the park is the location for modern day technology ie mobile phone signal. As the park is at the bottom of a dip signal is very hard to acquire, the park offers Wi-fi but at a charge. I would’ve rated the park 5 out of 5 but in 2021 they are still charging for it, it’s 2021 !!

Would come back happily.

This was our first stay at Porth Beach Holiday Park. We had pitch 57 which is spacious and backs onto the river so you have privacy and a gorgeous view. Check in was simple and we were really impressed with the location literally 2 mins walk from Porth Beach! The toilets and showers were always spotless and are large and spacious. There’s plenty of water taps and bins. The site staff work hard to keep the bins emptied and toilets clean. We were really impressed. There were no “riff faff” all the families were polite and friendly. (Having no play area or club house is a good move to keep a certain clientele). If you walk over to the football golf area next to the beach and follow the path to the cliff top you’ll see the most amazing sun sets. Roos Beach at the front of the site does the best breakfast and also sells essentials. The Mermaid Inn was good for an evening meal but pre book and don’t rely on them - due to staff shortages they weren’t serving food some nights. We resorted to take aways some nights - they delivered right to our pitch which was great. There isn’t much around within walking distance but you have everything you need right there. We visited some of the other parts of Newquay and relied on taxis. The bus didn’t arrive one day so we gave up and got a taxi and stuck to taxis. Approx £9 to Newquay town centre. The only negative for us was the lack of signal - being down in a dip you get absolutely no signal so your phone is useless. The wifi (which we paid for) was poor and often didn’t work. Yes it’s great to switch off and be off grid so this isn’t an issue for some but for us it was a problem as we couldn’t call taxis and call to book tables at restaurants and had no contact with elderly relatives at home. If you stand in the car park you can get lucky and pick up a signal. We will be retuning we had such a lovely stay and were really impressed with this site and the surrounding area.

We stayed in a Rio Premier. The caravan was immaculately clean and very modern. The large fridge/freezer was fantastic, such a lovely change for the standard ones you normally get in caravans. Even had a little welcome pack of tea towel, bin liner, small washing up liquid and dustbin bag! My only one negative was that the beds weren't the comfiest, especially the put up in the lounge. Location is great, literally a 5 minute walk to beach, which has plenty of space and great for little ones (and big ones too!) A walk into Newquay took about half hour. The Mermaid Inn opposite serves great food and has an outside seating area which looks over the beach. Very recommended and would revisit.

Never stayed on such a cramped and dirty site before. So many units and tents all crammed in, with very little space for vehicles or sitting outside your van. Lots of large groups were spreading out across multiple pitches with absolutely no space between them. it was loud, with lots of children constantly whizzing up and down and dogs viciously barking. Very basic facilities too. A large block with lots of toilets and showers, but for the size of the site they weren't cleaned often enough. Sinks were dirty and showers often dirty and blocked with sand. No dog wash or wet suit wash. No recycling bins, just big green bins dotted around the campsite very close to pitches, no real bin area. Rubbish had blown out of one bin and was scattered all over 2 pitches at the entrance for a couple of days.
We felt it was very expensive for what it was, price dictated by the location to Porth Beach but it really wasn't worth it. We left after 2 days as just didn't feel safe and didn't want to sit outside our van, so we left for another site where we were much happier. Will definitely not be returning.

HI Alison. Were really sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. Did you come into reception to report any issues you may have had as we would have been more than happy to help in any way we could. As its the summer holidays we do have lots of children on the park and families who are pitching up together. Those who do book pitches together can pitch up closer to each other but everyone else does need to follow our pitching up guide so to comply with fire regulations. Pitches are checked daily to make sure everyone's safe and following our guidelines. Our facilities are checked and cleaned multiple times a day and our staff do work extremely hard at trying to keep them and the park as clean and tidy as possible. We have many happy customers that return year after year and we do try to give everyone the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday possible so its disappointing to hear that you didn't feel safe and wont be returning.

Arrived and check in was fast and easy pitches are all a good size friendly park clean and well kept. Toilet and shower block is open from 6am to 10am and 4pm to 8pm and must say is clean and well proportioned lots of facilities no silly restrictions in place but all the distancing planned well everyone was well behaved and never felt in any way compromised. Great beach two min walk with decent pub on. Small restaurant outside (Tapas) Newquay is a nice walk across coastal path or easy to get a cab. Where lots of pubs and restaurants can be found. All in all this is a great location to stay and will be back. And am still here till Sat.

My family and I have been to Porth Beach for many years and find it great we love the location, close to nice sandy beach, and about 20 mins walk into Newquay. we normally have a week at easter but this year that was cancelled due to Covid. we also have 14 days in Mid September, it is usually a little less busy then and you can get good weather.

Just started looking at booking trips for 2022 and find that like some other sites Porth Beach seem to be increasing prices. as an example our September break this year is costing us £490 for 14 nights this was booked last year whilst we were staying there. Looking to book same 2 weeks for 2022>>> £800!! cannot justify that.

But there are other sites charging FAR less found a couple offering same facilities and more just further from the beach between £300-£450. which is more in our budget.

Not saying anything wrong with the site... far from it but look carefully at prices!

Very friendly staff had very little to do with them but the little we did they were very helpful. facilities great. Location is fantastic, mermaid pub across do lovely food.
This is the sad bit to write.
When we arrived we was given written instructions to how we needed to put the caravan/ awning and car, no problem as get this on every site we visit. Straight away we noticed other just pitch how they like so with all the caravans with awnings, pup tents/ gazebos on each pitch, the site is rammed. Lots are not interested if they go over the boundaries. 3 families holidaying together just had a free for all on how they pitched. We had 2 different campers park so close to our caravan they practically had to touch the van to get around because they pitched up badly with no regard to others. 2 days opened out toilet bathroom window to find a blow up mattress with 2 young adults a sleep practically leaning on our van to get out the sun. There is NO 3 meter rule even if it tells you on the pamphlet . Kids playing with water from the Elson points, toilets/showers left with toilet paper thrown everywhere not many people cleaned after themselves in the showers so left very dirty nowhere to put toiletries as every surface dirty. Kids playing in the bathroom at night( mens apparently are better ) A battle for the staff. Teenagers running around with handcuffs. Kids running feral most parents don’t seam to careless as long as the kids not bothering them. Very noisy people even after midnight. We chose this site for the security but personally I never did see one walk around if they did probably the noise level would have been to a minimum. We was there for 2 weeks spoke to a lady on our last evening she had just arrived the night before, she was further up the site she had to complain regarding kids to security on her first night. The site is far to small for all these extra small tents/ gazebos even the premium pitches. With the ones taking the pitches up with every tent/ gazebo possible the only room is to then park virtually on the road. Caravans can’t turn to get off there pitches. If the staff went around this could be fixed. I normally find fellow campers to be very friendly, not here probably due to the BIG family/ friends groups monopolising the site. This is not a cheep site we chose it as great location to the beach and no evening entertainment. Not noisy adults who would be better in a bar. Would go back but not school holidays which I suppose is the worst time. Luckily for us this is the last time we need to do school holiday times.
On a good note Cornwall is beautiful.

Stayed here for a week just gone. Immaculate caravan, lovely interior. Comfortable. Quiet. Amazing location despite lack of amenities close by. I wasn’t aware check in was only 4pm. Never in my 37 years on this planet have I checked in that late. Anywhere. (And we travel quite a bit) even when turning up early, which we did as we live 6 hours away, we have always been able to check in early as soon as accommodation has become available. For the price of it too, 4pm the day is almost over!!

Our friends were allowed to. I explained at 2pm that I had no access to sun cream, suitable clothing or swimwear for my 2 year old to be met with “we have 30 caravans to clean” no offer of any kind of shelter from the heat and sun despite my son being upset only being wrapped in a towel at this point. He ended up burnt. I understand check in times are there but I didn’t see them on any correspondence and there was no help whatsoever for us in that situation. Even from a woman to a woman! We were placed in the last caravan to be cleaned despite the caravan next to us remaining empty the whole time we were there and literal opposite ends to our friends (which the camp site was aware of)

Fab holiday but the start did put a downer on things

Hi Sarah. Thanks for leaving your review and its great to hear you had a fab holiday and liked your caravan. We are really sorry to hear of your child's sunburn and hope that they were ok. Check in for the caravans has always been 4pm and this is on your invoice next to the arrival date. Whilst check in is from 4pm we will do everything we can to get customer's in as soon as possible. At this time of year we can have a full changeover of 30 caravans and with customers checking out at 10am this only gives us 6 hours to get them all ready. If anyone arrives before 4pm we do take their number and we will call them as soon as theirs is ready but we cannot guarantee getting in early. The caravans are cleaned as people check out of them so unfortunately if your caravan was one of the last to leave in the morning it would be one of the last to be cleaned but still ready by check in time of 4pm. Your friends must have had one where the customer had left earlier and therefore it was cleaned before yours. We hope that this has not put you off staying with us and we hope to see you all again soon.

We are regular visitors to Porth Beach Holiday Park, in our motorhome. The facilities are spotless, the pitches are well maintained and the position of the park, directly over the road from the beach is perfect.
Only a 30 minute walk into Newquay or you can get the bus straight outside.
