Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely site, immaculate. The walk to the beach is not a stone throw away, getting down there if you have pushchairs, disabled families this is not the site for you as the hike up and down is not a safe walk. Stunning views, very secluded from everything else. The shop is not good on site and maybe some more facilities required for children. They say it’s a family friendly site but no ball games or children playing games as staff tell you there not allowed to do anything apart from be around your area. Bathrooms were shut for a full hour and half and no one was allowed to enter during these times - this is fine but for small children and a disabled child we could not wait sometimes. Unfortunately we did leave early we booked 8 nights and stayed for 3nights. We travelled a long journey through the night and was not able to check in until 1pm on the dot even though the pitches were readily available.

We were so disappointed that we cut our stay here short. Felt a bit like the poor relations with the pitch we were given, very close to the facilities block, on the side of the site with minimal views & the bins. Had hoped for some peace & tranquility but this was often impossible due to what we considered was the overzealous use of garden machinery by the staff. Quickly discovered that the area was really not right for us. It was absolutely heaving with people & dogs at Watergate Bay. Thankfully the next door campsite has a handy, well stocked shop & their cafe does takeaways - the saving grace.

It felt like we were continuously being checked upon, didn’t feel welcome and left early. Not sure if that’s down to not being ‘in the club’. Would however highly reccomend the view just down the road. They were very friendly and welcoming and have the most amazing sea views. Also closer walk down to watergate bay.

We have just come back from an amazing, relaxing time at this site. It surpassed our expectations. We had pitch 13 which was lovely. All the pitches were immaculate and really well looked after. Our hard standing was large enough for our LWB VW camper plus awning and windbreak. The facilities were very clean even though dated, which is my only requirement on a site. It didn’t disappoint. Plus the showers were perfect in terms of temperature and flow. The view from the site was amazing too and it was a lovely walk down to Watergate Bay which we loved visiting. It is a cliff top walk that descends steeply so maybe not ideal for people with mobility issues. The shop on site was small however next door at The View there is an excellent shop and cafe to buy almost anything. The artisan pizza van visits the site twice a week (yummy) and there is a good bus service close by which we utilised to visit Padstow and Newquay. Kudos to the bus drivers on those roads!! Would definitely recommend this site and will be going again. The wardens were lovely and did a good job each day. They were not afraid to reinforce rules (eg remind dog owners to utilise the lane walks and not peoples pitches). When we were there there was a lovely firework display next door (possibly at a neighbouring site) and another night some sort of DJ set going on. The rest of the time it was very quiet and peaceful. People visiting were of all ages and very friendly.

I thought this was supposed to be a friendly club and yet when asking wardens if they could freeze some ice blocks for us the reply was NO - Not today because you're leaving tomorrow BUT WE CAN RENT SOME TO YOU !! What's that all about?? Not friendly or helpful !! It states in Camping and Caravanning Site Seekers guide that Tregurrian Club Site will freeze ice blocks for you !! Just can't believe anybody could be so unhelpful!!

Myself and 2 friends stayed here for 3 nights in a camper van and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the campsite very clean and well maintained. Perfect location with the beach at watergate bay within walking distance. We also got the bus to Newquay and enjoyed a meal at Zacrays restaurant at the watergate bay hotel.

Site clean , very close to the beautiful beach. ok for caravan, difficult parking as you park your car, on the pitch behind you ? If in a tent you have to pitch on the gravel not the grass site team are dreadful unhelpful even to the disabled.we expected better if you arrive late they have no empathy the motto is we’re a friendly site I think they need a training lesson

The shop on this site was closed due to the covid19 restrictions. And yet the shop on the adjacent camp site was open! That seems barmy. and a bit annoying. Seeing as other shops are open anyway and have been throughout the pandemic. The WiFi is useless, pretty much. Very unreliable - so if you need good connections then the site is not for you. And roaming signal was very patchy too. There are just about enough showers but some queuing was experienced once or twice. - particularly the female showers. The staff are friendly and the place is run efficiently, the loos clean and so on. And it is a quiet place too. Dog friendly. The views are pretty good. You can access the cliff top coastal path quite easily., walking from the site. And there is a regular bus to Newquay and Padstow from nearby. There is a reasonable pub called The Travellers Rest about half an hour's walk away. This serves pub grub and decent beer. There is a right of way to the pub through fields but the farmer has done his best to make the route virtually impassible. It was completely overgrown and there is an electric fence you need to avoid. We did the walk twice but you need long trousers and proper shoes to avoid getting stung by nettles.. Walking along the road is not pleasant as it is quite a busy road with no footpath. Obviously it's just a few minutes in the car.

Lovely location and good facilities etc as you expect from a club site, but if you are taking a tent check the weather forecast for winds. We had to abandon as did the other campers in tents. SW wind comes straight off the Atlantic and in soft ground you will never keep your tent down. We wondered why the site had nearly all caravans and now we now!
