The Beresford is situated in a superb position on the seafront, with marvellous views over Tolcarne Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. This hotel is ideally positioned for taking the short walk into Newquay’s bustling town centre or for taking in the stunning views of Cornwall’s rugged coastline. Many of the front facing rooms have superb views from the hotel’s cliff top position. The bar and ballroom provide pleasant surroundings in which to enjoy the entertainment and there are two comfortable lounges and a dedicated games area to enjoy. When the Atlantic swells roll in, our seafront conservatory is the perfect place to sit and watch the surfers take on the amazingly powerful waves!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Travelled with Caledonian no issues. Check in was fast & food was good. The first room they gave us (no 33) had a bucket outside catching rain, inside the room had paint coming off ceiling in both the room & bathroom it also had a very distinct odour. As waiting to sort better room for us another couple came down with same complaint. The second room was much better everything seemed to work apart from the tv which we reported for a few days until someone came to fix unfortunately quite a few guests were not that lucky having to watch tv downstairs & the guests on next table were told by reception that no one else had complained who also had no cold water in their room! Customer service left a lot to be desired, this hotel is definitely one to avoid.

Extremely good value for money. Close to everything you need. The receptionist Caroline was more than helpful, what a wonderful lovely team member! Dennis on the bar was also very nice and smiley! Would definitely return. Shout out to housekeeping also doing a great job.

Absolutely awful!! A view of the back of the hotel. From which all we could see was 12 dirty used mattresses thrown to the side. Rooms completely falsely advertised. Booked a family room for 3 adults, honestly was smaller than a twin room it was tiny! when spoke to the staff they were extremely rude. Especially the older blonde lady (possibly the manager) After being told that we could have two rooms as they didn’t have a family room that they had advertised. Then we were informed that we would have to pay for two room if we wanted two rooms after saying no this lady continued to try and justify why the rooms were so awful into the price that we had paid which was £60 per night ( we only stayed 1 night) We were moved to a double room and given a camping bed for the third person. (Which was broken) On arrival of the new room there was blood on the bathroom wall very unclean as well as holes in the wall and ceilings. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. After staying in Cornwall several times this was very much the most disappointing stay ever! 1000% will not be returning to this awful establishment and I really wouldn’t advise anyone else too either. Save your money and book the premier in next door. I wish we had.

This is a dog friendly hotel. I had an excellent stay for five nights with my dog. The rooms are very clean and you would never know a dog had been in the room. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room rate is excellent value. It is a great location as well. Parking is limited but there are car parks close by.

What a lovely little hotel. Myself and my daughter have just returned from a Caledonian coach trip. The rooms were spotless and the food was great for the price. A special mention to the bar manager who made my daughter feel special. Will return.

I can only say that we will not be staying here again, the staff on the desk were attentive, the view was superb from our 3rd floor window although obscured by dirt & had not been cleaned for a while, I understand the spray etc from the sea etc but they were filthy. The bed was quite comfortable but do not move during the night otherwise your partner will move too!! Room otherwise was spacious & tidy, but in need of modernising. Breakfast was plentiful, opting for a full English, but only lukewarm - no instructions where the coffee/toast were & had to tell the staff to replenish the orange juice & other meal options. Overall, needs a major facelift!!

Dog friendly hotel with everything we needed for a short break. Room was clean and had a great sea view. If I was being picky, the decorating was a bit below par but I wasn’t bothered by that. The staff are absolutely lovely and really deserve praise.

Given it was the start of the Season our stay at this hotel was a positive one . Part of a Shearings coach trip for 4 nights. The staff were polite and welcoming and although the hotel may be in need of some modernisation our room was clean and comfortable and the food was of a good standard .Had a lovely sea view room and location great for public transport .
