We stayed for 2 nights. the reception staff were really nice and helpful. The hotel itself was finished to a good standard and the spa area was a nice treat for us. We also had the breakfast which was of really good quality and the service was possibly one of the best we have experienced especially (sorry we didn't get her name) the blonde lady with glasses on Monday the 23rd May at 07:00. We will definitely be coming back again the next time we visit the lovely Newquay.
My wife and I stayed at the Fistral Beach Hotel & Spa from Tuesday 27th July 2021 for 3 nights. This was our first stay having received good feedback from friends. We arrived early which didn't prove a problem as we were checked in and welcomed by reception with a sea view room ( what a view ) and were delighted with our spacious, clean, comfortable accommodation. Queen bed was very, very comfortable and the room well equipped. Really powerful shower with plenty of Gaia Spa smellies. Everything we needed. I ordered Champagne for the room which was sat on ice ready and waiting. Not mentioned by reception who obviously new it was a surprise. We had breakfast in our room every day, booked at 9 am ( full English plus the Danish selection and coffee ). Every day it was delivered on time and was perfectly prepared but more importantly, it was hot. The spa facilities were good with a really nice temperature swimming pool. Very relaxed. The hot tub was really hot ( often they are just warm in spa's ) as well as powerful. Sauna's wet and dry were great too so very happy all round. My wife had a hot stone massage and scalp massage which she said was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed the bar on numerous occasions including some bar food which was excellent. First night, for ease, we had dinner in the Dune Restaurant. My goodness. I have stayed in many hotels and dined at many restaurants around the world but was actually stunned with the quality of the food. The presentation and attention to detail was mind blowing. This led me to having the 6 course sample menu with drinks so I could truly experience the ability of the Chef and his team. Every single dish I had in this restaurant did not disappoint. The complexity and variety of flavours was absolutely World Class. How you can have one dish that delivers a different experience per mouthful is astonishing. Having dined in a number of Michelin star restaurants historically, I felt this was actually better, particularly if considering cost. What a pleasure to dine here and what a wonderful experience. In addition to this, the staff at this hotel were absolutely fantastic. Good fun, friendly, professional, attentive, knowledgeable and engaging. This hotel team are a credit to their employers. Each and everyone from reception to bar, restaurant to housekeeping. I can't remember the last time I was able to write such a positive review for a hotel or restaurant, let alone both. First class all the way and a faultless performance from this incredible team. Thank you and we look forward to our next visit.…
Fantastic time, hotel staff excellent and food really good. Definitely will return for another fabulous weekend stay. Would recommend paying that bit extra for a Seaview balcony, well worth it. Try out the cocktails.....
Good location, good food, very helpful a nd friendly staff and beautiful hotel. Compact room for a best price last moment. We will go there again. Good location where the hotel is situated. When we visited it was good weather in May 2022
Positives:- Great views over Fistral Bay. Generally very cheerful, helpful staff. Any issue# were sorted very quickly. Very nice pool and good sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Bedroom was clean and a good size. Housekeeping efficient and friendly. Negatives:- Overpriced, limited dinner menu. All week, duck was shown as a main course option but was not available. Why not take it off the menu then???? It was replaced by pheasant which was very nice but an incredibly small portion. Service was slow at dinner- we were twice warned there would be delays-not good enough but it seems the coach parties take up the resources. I would not recommend the Dune restaurant BUT the problem is that the walk to town is over 20 minutes.....as someone else pointed out the spa isn’t lovely BUT it’s ridiculous not having any seating space-this did detract from the enjoyment. We enjoyed our holiday but are u likely to return to this hotel.…
The location of the hotel is lovely, right next to the sea and Fistral beach. We had a best room with a balcony. Room was spacious with plenty of storage space, a free standing bath with sea view and a lovely shower and bathroom. Unfortunately our holiday was totally spoiled by the evening ‘food situation’. Breakfast was very good with lovely food and a good choice of options. Unfortunately the evening is a different matter! The Bay Bar which has always served more casual evening meals now only served cold Tapas dishes!! We were told that if we wanted anything other we would need to book in to the Dune Restaurant. As it was too late on our first night we had no alternative to try the Tapas which was all cold options and not very nice at all. When asked if we could have a dessert the waiter went and asked and we were told no, it’s Tapas only!! The next 3 nights we tried to book in to the Dune restaurant but no tables were available between 7-9pm. This then meant having to go out every night to find places to eat, getting soaked through once too! In a four star hotel we don’t expect to have to eat cold Tapas dishes EVERY night of our stay. Even if we could have got in to the restaurant it is quite pricey, choice is limited and also it’s a 2 course minimum booking which not everyone wants. Very disappointed that the change in menu was not advertised as we have stayed many times but sadly won’t be returning. On checkout we raised our complaint to the lady with long brown hair on reception who literally couldn’t have cared less, telling us we should have raised our complaint in the Bay Bar. We did raise our complaint in the Bay Bar who told us to tell reception!! Such a let down.…
This is a beautiful hotel ran by people who care about the customer. From the minute I arrived everyone I saw was friendly and pleasant. The rooms are very comfortable especially the great bed and tastefully decorated. Loved the fabulous Gaia toiletries that were in the bathroom . Sarah was extremely lovely at breakfast and couldn’t do enough not only for me but other guests that came in for breakfast. It’s so wonderful to stay at such a great place
My husband booked us 3 nights at the hotel and we stayed in the suite (room 319) Upon arrival the staff at reception were very welcoming and as part of the suite stay, you have allocated parking right outside the entrance to the door which is a nice touch. We were also given a voucher each for a free glass of bubbly from the bar. The Room - The suite itself was lovely, it was clean and the views of the beach and hot tub in the room make it really special. The bed was big and comfy and the snacks, drinks and cocktails in the fridge were included at no extra price. There are some other items you can purchase (champagne and gin for example) that come at a fee. Room was equipped with everything you need, iron and ironing board, tea/coffee, biscuits, selection of glasses, hair dryer etc.. with the suite you can also use the provided toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body/hand lotion) which they use in the spa which were heavenly! We had plenty of towels in the room and also robes and slippers. The only criticism I would have in regards to the room is that when it was made up for our second night, the cleaners didn’t replenish or replace some things. For example we used the nice champagne glasses in the room on our first night and these were taken away as they had been used but no new ones were put in the room for us to use again. That was the case with several of the glasses we used and one used/dirty glass wasn’t taken away and was left. The Spa - we booked an hour, hot stone fully body massage which was amazing. The spa itself is lovely and has a luxurious feel to it. The spa staff were very friendly and I would highly recommend treatments if staying here as it was a highlight of the weekend. We only used the spa facilities briefly (the pool, steam room etc) but it was very nice and as you’d expect. The Restaurant - the food at the hotel was fantastic. The first night we had the duck and pork starters followed by the steak to share (at and extra supplement of £10 each) and it tasted amazing. We were served by Jack both nights we ate in the restaurant and he was brilliant. He was engaging and friendly and informative about the food and wine. When he established we were celebrating my birthday he brought us another glass of fizz on the house and after mains he brought out a lovely pudding which said happy birthday which again was a lovely touch. The breakfast the following day was nice. Upon arrival we had to wait shortly to be seated (which was fine) but once we were nobody explained how it all worked. We were told of the buffet area (juices, pastries, cereal, fruit etc) but we were left a little perplexed as to how we ordered hot food. We quickly realised from looking round that we were missing a menu on our table and that it would be table service to order. When we asked and got a menu we had a full English and Eggs Benedict, both which tasted very nice. There was also the option of Prosecco/mamosa on Saturday morning which was nice. Breakfast on Sunday was very similar, again no menu had been left on our table but having realised how things worked by now, we were able to order quickly. On Saturday we also didn’t have any milk for our teas but this was brought once asked for. I think just a bit more attention to the small things could really improve an already good breakfast service to an excellent one. The bar - the bar area is lovely. Nice and light and modern and the views are spectacular. It was table service which was good and the service was quick and as you’d expect. To our delight there was live music on both Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and both acts we saw were really good, with the right sort of music being played for the right time of day/evening. Music on Saturday night after dinner would have been lovely too but I appreciate that this may not be for everyone. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly, the room was clean, the location and views are fantastic and the food was fab. We would recommend and stay here again…
Another fantastic Fistral Beach Hotel & Spa stay! My first solo visit to Fistral Beach and I had forgotten how awesome the spa is and that amazing view from the bar (and outside deck) over the bay. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating and the food was awesome., as usual. There is a good gym, and parking right outside the hotel (do book a slot and worth paying the fee - though there is parking available opposite on the street, but I prefer to have the car where I can see it). So it is an amazing place to come for a romantic break, but also as a businessmen, it is a great place to come to relax and have.
Great experience during my week long stay in Newquay. The hotel is right beside the beach and I stayed in one of the seaview rooms. It was truly worth it. The hotel staff are all friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Great on site facilities and gym. Overall a positive experience and I look forward to returning in the near future.
