I'm so glad everywhere is about to re-open as we had a fantastic time in this hotel last September. The room was gorgeous with our own balcony to sit on and watch the harbour activities and the food and service was amazing!
This is not a 5 star hotel I’m afraid, (it’s barely a three star) so consider that before parting with your money. They charge 5 star prices but don’t come anywhere close to it. The stay my wife and I had was blighted by rude staff (although to be fair, it was just the one older gentleman - the rest of the staff were fine) and numerous issues with the room e.g. no WiFi (the signal was fine at reception but did not reach our room), several faulty plug sockets, very feeble shower, to name just a few. There was also an unearthly, repeating noise before 8am every morning. There’s no parking at the hotel and the street outside is very narrow and can only accommodate 3 or so cars (see photo). The hotel may overlook the harbour but it is far from the town centre so its location is also bad. All in all a very disappointing stay, one that I won’t be repeating at this hotel I’m afraid, especially considering there are better hotels in Newquay that are better located and better priced.…
Such an enthusiastic welcome - the staff were friendly and eager to help. The room was very homely and everything felt hygienically clean (very important during these times). The views from the balcony were stunning. We stayed in the Good Intent room - very comfortable and tastefully decorated. It was a pity that we were there for just 2 nights, 26-28 October, however we were lucky with the weather, mild, good sunny spells, a few showers and some strong winds which gave some amazing seascapes. We loved this place, have recommended it to many friends and I'm sure a stay here in the middle of winter would be just as wonderful as one in the summer. Highly recommend!
We stayed here with our dog on Wednesday this week. The room was lovely, with a balcony overlooking the harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Our dog was allowed into the breakfast room with us and as a treat was brought his own dish with two sausages! He was delighted! We will definitely visit again.
This is the second time we have been to this restaurant. The first was with a large family group for a 60th birthday last year. This time a smaller group of 4 for my daughters 23rd birthday while on a short break near Newquay. On both occasions we had a really lovely time, this time around we were made to feel very welcome and safe. The service is friendly, attentive but not intrusive. The food was excellent and so were the cocktails! We will be back, absolutely lovely evening. Thank you
