Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We got a very last minute booking at a very reasonable price for the week of the bank holiday. We had booked a parkdean campsite that turned out to be vile and uninhabitable . The receptionist was incredibly helpful with booking on the phone when we were desperate to find somewhere for our family . She was also on the next morning when we checked in and was lovely . The caravan was absolutely brilliant and smelt so clean as soon as we walked in we were thrilled. We were able to salvage what was potentially a write off . We felt completely de stressed immediately. Its a great site , walking distance to beaches and town Facilities great and clean Thank you Trenance

Stayed Friday evening to Bank Holiday Monday in a 2 bed chalet. I was not over impressed when I arrived. Exterior of chalet looked a little tired. However interior was clean and everything was in working order. Good shower, comfortable bed, very clean. You can walk into the town up a steep hill or drive in a couple of mins. The park felt quiet and safe. It was a great no frills base to explore the surrounding area and in this basis I’d recommend.

Have been to this campsite a few times a year for the last 8 years always enjoyed ourselves but after this weekend and being issued a yellow weather warning and the weather been awful strong winds and bad rain didn’t think it was very safe with two young children camping on a tent we rang and asked if we would change the dates we came we where told no what I think isn’t very good we wasn’t asking for a refund just a change of dates so this has put up off coming back as the person on the phone wasn’t very helpful

Trenance has been a favourite holiday destination for my family and I for nearly 15 years, we have camped, stayed in caravans and then we settled for a chalet. Home from home we thought, nice central location for beaches, shops and so my girls could go to town in the evenings. But In the passed few years the chalets have become tired, and run down. Now our 10 day holiday used to cost £998, then after Covid went up to £1500. As everybody was on a “staycation”, I understood the massive increase at that time, then hoped this year, as the rest of the world was open, that it would go down a few hundred pounds, but alas they pretended it was £1700 reduced to £1500. I was a little incensed as I know how much I paid the year before and wrote to them stating this which they duly ignored! And then to my dismay, I received an email requesting that I pay the balance eight weeks before the holiday, when it had always been four weeks, I called the reception because I thought this was a error, but was told that the terms and conditions had changed and “I should’ve read them”, (which I probably did 15 years ago) I asked if we could have a few weeks extension, as we had always paid on time and we had always left the chalet spotlessly clean and respected all of the rules on site, to be told “NO” it had to be paid! Now also, the deposit for the 10 days had always been £100, this had gone up to £200 and I was told very abruptly that it was nonrefundable, so I lost £200 instead of £100, thanks for that… as I’ve been a single Mum for 24 years (and now a grandmother)this is a big hit on my finances! To say me and my family were brokenhearted was an understatement, I feel we had appalling customer service, and zero concessions from the very person I have always spoken to in the office. This destination would’ve been kept on by my family and my Grandson for many years, but they have lost that. Luckily, with such short notice, I managed to book a luxury holiday at Cofton holidays, which was £100 cheaper, all the bedlinen and towels included, there were lots of amenities and things to do on site and was so fabulous, it doesn’t compare, and this is our new favourite place.

Due to visit this site end of September, with over 9 weeks to go before our visit realised they wouldn’t accept a puppy dog . No refund or partial refund they took £40 from us , disgusting and dreadful service . How not to run a business , greed !! I hope you get your well deserved recognition.

We stayed here for one night… thank god. The campsite is situated next to a busy road and railway line - that alone meant a very noisy night. We were placed next to an incredibly noisy few families whose children ran up and down the road screaming for hours. The warden was there during some of this but didn’t do anything about it. It is advertised as a ‘family site’ but everywhere we went were parents swearing extremely loudly. Although ‘quiet time’ is between 11pm and 9am, we were woken at 7 to the children continue to scream and run up and down. The facilities were also below average. In all our time of visiting campsites, that was the worst experience by far and will definitely never be repeated.

We stayed in a 3bed caravan at Trenance for 1 week. On arrival we noticed that the cleanliness wasn't great. Found hairs on the mattress and pillow covers and the pillows smelled like they hadn't been washed. Some plates, bowls, cups and utensils were dirty. The carpet was dirty and made my son's eczema itch whenever he sat on the carpet. We paid the most we've ever paid for a caravan holiday and we expected for it to be clean at least. The park is in a great location but on a steep hill. We found we had to take the car every time we needed something from the shops though so it's a shame there doesn't seem to be anything in walking distance or on site. We had a lovely time in Cornwall but I doubt we would stay here again.

This is the 5th time we have stayed at Trenance,we have camped , had a chalet and a caravan .Whilst the location is perfect it is such a shame the facilities are getting less and less. The 1st time we stayed there was a restaurant and a shop, now there are neither which is quite annoying if you have forgotten anything as you have to go back into the town.

We were booked to stay at this campsite for two nights which we booked earlier this year. A week prior to staying we looked up again the site to start planning our visit and my husband noticed in the small print NO PETS at the site. This is the first campsite I have ever seen in UK that doesn’t allow pets. I contacted customer services and explained our trip does include a pet and it wasn’t seen at time of booking as it was right at the bottom of the page. The reply was as per our terms and conditions no refund will be given. Absolutely shocking! As it was a week prior to the stay. £49.50 for nothing !

Excellent Holiday accommodation. clean modern caravan. very friendly peopke and ideal location. situated just outside town with easy walk to front and literally next door to zoo and swimming baths, and supermarkets are just up the road. as long as you are fit and healthyits perfect but i wouldnt quite recommend for wheel chairs as its on a steepish hill but then Newquay is not exactly flat. we are already booking for next year.
