Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for one night prior to catching the Scillonian to The Isles of Scilly. The Dock Inn is perfectly situated for this being a couple of minutes walk to the quay and Scillonian check in. We had two rooms which were both extremely comfortable. We liked the fact that a cold breakfast was laid up in the room although we couldn't take advantage of the hot options because our Scillonian sailing was brought forward due to incoming bad weather. However the cold options being available in our room meant that we could eat something before we left. The welcome on arrival was friendly and we were shown to our rooms. They were not doing food in the evening but there are plenty of other local options. We will be back next time we stay in Penzance.

We were booked for one night but as the ferry to the Scilly isles was cancelled they managed to accommodate us for two. The room was nice and clean and the breakfast was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The pub itself had a nice atmosphere.

Lovely place to stay and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Location was great - right next to the coast and only a short walk from the station. Rooms were really cosy and comfy, and the breakfast was exactly the thing we needed to set up our day

We always pop into the Dock Inn when on holiday. Lovely inexpensive pint and great atmosphere. The Dock is a brilliant place for a pint and a chat, Phil and Karen are lovely hosts. Highly recommended

We visited for the one night to use the Geothermal pool in the town, The staff were friendly and very obliging, organising and booking our evening meal and breakfast times, and let us eat our breakfast in the bar as we were with friends, The room was well equipped, clean and comfy bed, pillows and lovely towels, Even though it is a little tired, it is excellent value for money and would recommend to stay

We stayed 2 nights at the Dock Inn after returning from the Isle of Scilly, it is conveniently located near to where the boat docks. The pub is dated and in need of some TLC, the corridor to the rooms is terrible and needs some decoration and tending too. The bedroom was clean but the overlooked the beer garden roof which was unsightly and very disappointing. The room was also very hot. Our breakfast was served in our room which was a nice touch but there wasn't a great deal of space and it wasn't the best breakfast (we couldn't drink the coffee). However the staff were helpful and friendly,

There are a number of pubs in the area, but we had not made a reservation and most did not try to accomodate us. However, this genuine local pub was welcoming immediately. They serve simple, but simple fare and at a good price. It was the best macaroni cheese I have ever had! Cheerful and hard working staff. Excellent beer on tap …. Highly recommend

We have been visiting the Dock Inn for a number of years, during our annual Cornwall holiday. It never disappoints, the Sunday Dinner is a must, always beautifully cooked, it’s the best one we have had in Cornwall by a mile. Phil keeps his beers in tip top condition, and very reasonably priced. The Dock Inn is an absolute gem.

Lovely local pub with nicely renovated accomodation . Quiet room with view out over the Quay . The bed was very comfortable and the room was well set up with an ensuite . Our breakfast was served in our room and it was delicious . A full Cornish breakfast beautifully presented . It is just a five minute walk to board the ferry to the isles . We will be recommending the Dock Inn to our friends and family .
