Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful stunning park offering total peace and tranquility you can hear nothing but the bird’s singing and the river flowing total relaxation. We stayed in a lodge owned by a lovely lady called Pam it was spotless clean on arrival with a lovely welcome gift pack of homemade jams scones clotted cream cakes biscuits and milk in fridge as well as other little extras. We were directly in front of the riverbank lots of wildlife live here as well as the passers by. It’s a haven and very well kept I would definitely recommend and will return.

Very quiet lacks facilities for families children especially I don't think it's an ideal park for families with children it's okay for elderly couples or couples without children which to me doesn't sit right for a holiday park .

The cabin and location were lovely and the cabin was clean. The hot tub was a lovely addition to the cabin and much used. The disappointment was the very poor WiFi with connection only achievable from the top of the dog walking hill! We had been warned it was ‘variable’ but this was much more than that. Other slight gripe was I don’t think the website made it very clear dogs could not be left unaccompanied in the chalets. This seriously curtailed our week and enjoyment of the area - however understand this was our fault for not reading the small print before booking

We have visited River Valley many times and it is always a peaceful and beautiful place. This year we were in a newer style lodge which was lovely and beautifully decorated however it didn’t seem to have the same floor space as the old style lodges which are now being removed. Kitchen/ eating area in particular was very cramped. However we did love the large en-suite master bedroom. We definitely got the impression that the site is moving away from having rental guests and more towards owners only which is sad and probably means we won’t be back.

We just love River Valley. Been coming here for over 12 years now and we love the peace and quiet and all the wild life. We stayed in one of the newer lodges this time with hot tub. The lodge isn't the most well stocked with equipment and is useful to take a few extra storage bowls and oven gloves but for us the staff and location make up for any shortfalls in equipment. We did find the first night difficult as the hot tub noise reverberated into the bedroom as it came on and off during the night but we soon got used to it and it didn't particularly bother us after that. The site is much quieter than when we first started visiting as more accommodation is now privately owned. For us it's our haven away from home although it would be too quiet for some so it's important that people understand this. Neil & Bernadette and their family & staff are always available for anything needed and are so welcoming and helpful & we thank them for another great holiday.

WE have been here 4 times before new managers all top rate then sadly same can't be said now hired Oak lodge this time. On arrival 5.30 pm office closed key in box went to lodge noticed only 2 saucepans with only one lid no serving spoons coffee or tea pot dinning table sticky went to office in morning not to impressed they replaced items and said table had been clean yes it had but it was still sticky I stated that this was the worst unit we have ever had, but you know and they did not what nobody came to check it out I have had ill health over the last 2 years and was out of things for the next few days. On the last Tuesday of our holiday the fridge flooded (drain hole blocked up) went and reported this was told that it was a new unit I said to was not a new unit and was told it had come out of another unit I also mentioned that the place was dirty radiators in bathrooms rusty carpet was filthy radiator by kitchen dirty no clean was told I should have reported it before and they did not have any cleaners I said that's not the point it should have been cleaned in the first place and checked they offered me vouchers for one of their other sites which I refused as if .this was their standards I would not want to stay there again no one came to check it out. By the way the are scaping the wooden lodges soon they only have 7 units now for hire a site is going over the and on ownership units. I could go on and on but like them I can't be bothered.
