Check in was smooth, we had a contactless check in with a code for key box which is a great idea, we had room 8 for 2 nights and everything was perfect, because of covid we pre ordered breakfast and it was delivered to us on time both mornings. Our room had tea making facilities, complimentary shower gel, hairdryer, fresh towels everyday. Thank you X

A quaint 10 room listed as a hotel but better described as a B&B. Well placed for beach and town. Some parking outside in the street and if you’re lucky a space at the side of the property. The room we had was an attic room and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was adequate but small. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room although the kettle had a mind of its own. If you’re very tall you may need to be aware that the eaves may cause an issue if you’re not careful. Breakfast was served in a little takeaway bag (due to COVID restrictions) and could be eaten in the room or taken with you for later. Choice was good and delivered direct to the room on time. Plenty of towels which were decoratively laid out with fresh flower petals. The downside for us was the fact that rooms 7 to 10 were accessed by a set of very steep narrow stairs. Difficult with hand luggage let alone any suitcases. Needs to be considered if you couldn’t cope with it. Our room was billed as having a sea view but that was optimistic- you could just about see it over the rooftops.

The hotel is situated on a quiet street, close to the city centre, where you can find shops pubs etc (10 minute walk). It's also close to the promenade (5 minute walk)

The bed was comfy and the room was clean, tea and coffee were available as well.

Breakfast was brought to our door at 8 am, and was delicious.
The only downside was that we had to go via some narrow stairs to get to the room.

Nong was really nice.

Off street parking is also available (3 spots)

On arrival the hotel had given instructions on how to enter through a key lock system. The room was twin bedded with white cotton duvets and comfortable bed. The furniture was slightly old fashioned as was the decor. The TV was very small and the size of a little computer monitor. Bathroom was equally small and cramped. On the plus side it had underfloor heating which was a nice surprise. There was complimentary coffee and tea with kettle but this was hard to fill due to the sink being so small. Complimentary water bottles were also made available. The biggest let down for us at this hotel was a very poor valued breakfast. Due to COVID-19 the buffet breakfast was not available (understandably so) but we had to fill out a menu card with choice of roll, bacon & egg or cheese and tomato, orange juice, milk and cereal or fruit. This arrived at 8.00am the next morning in a tray in a brown paper bag. My roll had cold bacon and cold scrambled egg which I thought was awful. I had a cheap carton of warm orange juice with 35p marked on the side and a small plastic cup filled with muesli and small plastic cup of warm milk. We had been told to expect to order breakfast the night before but we were also told that it could be eaten in the dining room, in the room booked or as a picnic. For the price the hotel charges this was very underwhelming and a little overpriced. The problems with COVID do not stop having a proper breakfast served on a hot plate in a breakfast room. Restaurants can manage it and still keep to the restrictions. This hotel is not value for money with such a poor breakfast.

If you fancy a quirky small room with a landlady who learnt her English from Manuel and her customer service from Basil then this is your place. The room is designed for the elderly with two chairs and a writing bureau from the 1930s . The bed is from an earlier era when torture was the in thing . The mattress is so thin and uncomfortable I took a look to see if it was actually a giant cream cracker . The breakfast is at 8 in the morning, whether you want it then or not it’s EIGHT . No earlier no later. You get a knock on the door and your breakfast is left outside .Then an hour later she knocks again wanting you out of the room so she can clean it.
Ps don’t forget your feather quill 🪶

We did not book the Estoril hotel but the Penzance Seaside studios. It is the same place, although confusingly, when you arrive the signage is all for the Estoril Hotel. Well located within a 5 minute walk of the promenade and (up the hill) a 5 minute walk to the town centre, the hotel is an old victorian buidling with a small well kept tiny garden with attractive summer flowers. Car parking was a problem. You can park on the street outside after 5 pm and before 9 am (if you can find a place) and the hotel has two small and hard to get into parking places. We struggled to find parking actually. Some things about the place are good. Our 'delux' appartment was in fact a large high ceilinged room with a double and a single bed, a tiny kichen area (with sink, microwave, hot plates and adequate crockery and cutlery - even some tea bags and a fridge) The toilet was in a tiny cubicle and the bathroom (with a bath) was also in a narrow windowless cubicle. The room had a coffee table, wardrobe, two easy chairs, a table for eating or working, a hair drier, good free wifi and a large screen TV. BUT IT WAS SO OLD! The furniture was very old - 1950's ? the curtains were ancient, the bed linen was uncomfortable and two hot for summer and everything just looked and felt old and tiired and worn and frankly ready to throw out. We paid £135/night for this place (no breakfast) and were so disappointed by the standard of the room. The owners, Eddie and Nong, keep the place tidy and clean (although our room was never serviced in three days) and were helpful enough. Through this review I implore them to spend some money and refurbish their rooms. If you are charging top prices people expect better.
It is rare that I write such critical reviews but the place is in serious need of some money to be spent. Until that happens I can write anything more positive.

We stayed for 2 nights in July at this lovely small hotel in Penzance. Centrally located it was 5 minutes walk to the shops and another 5 minutes in the opposite direction to the seafront.
We were really impressed with the socially distancing measures in place with a contactless check-in and breakfast left outside the room each morning. The owners were friendly and welcoming; and the room was comfortable and clean with an en suite bathroom. It was a really quiet time; and lovely to sit outside in the pretty garden with our coffee.Tea and coffee were provided with a kettle in the room. The only gripe was that there was no extension cord for the TV (this didn't bother us but it might some people) but I'm pretty sure if we'd asked we'd have been given one. Overall would recommend this hotel and was a very reasonable price.

After viewing the website and reading the reviews I booked with confidence and had high expectations for my stay, unfortunately it proved a disappointment from the start, there was so many issues, some contentious, some personal, but a lot irrefutable for a property within this price range, and it would take an age to list them all. I stayed in the suite which on the website is portrayed as having period charm but, a room with period charm and one that’s tired uncomfortable and in desperate need of modernisation are close neighbours and I certainly know which type of room I stayed in. I think I can forgive anything provided I’m offered three fundamental services, parking, sleep, and breakfast and, we received none. From the moment we arrived parking became a major issue for the duration of our stay, the mattress was so old and lumpy it was like sleeping on a sack of potatoes, seriously, how can you allow anyone to sleep on such an old lumpy mattress and expect them to have a good night’s sleep. As for the breakfast, while I will not dispute the quality, it was very limited and unappetising. My partner is gluten intolerant, yet they could not accommodate her breakfast needs, so we had to purchase our own bread from the local supermarket and give it to you and ask that it be used for the breakfast sandwiches. With so many places, even budget hotels like Premier Inn, providing quality comfortable accommodation the bar of expectation has been set quite high, unfortunately your establishment falls well below that level. I have never been one to question the price but, I will always question the value for money, and I felt that they were not offering that. I guess if anyone arrives by public transport, has low expectations, no food intolerances and can sleep on a clothesline, then I think they’ll enjoy their stay but, for me, unfortunately I’ll not be returning anytime soon.

We had two overnight stays either side of a trip to The Scillies. The hotel is well placed for the ferry and had some parking outside on a safe suburban road. It is the opposite of a uniform, chain hotel, with charm and individuality which reflected the owners' personalities. Check in is automated and efficient and an ample breakfast is served to the room during Covid. The owners were very accommodating to our needs and both rooms had good quality showers and were kept clean. Our rooms may have been a little over furnished for some tastes and the beds a little soft.

Beautiful garden surround the hotel. Hotel very clean. Twin bedded room, beds very comfortable, shower/hot water good, Wi-Fi good connection. A short walk from the town and promenade.

A couple of things could make the stay even better. The breakfast was very basic, I guess due to the Covid restrictions. It was personally delivered to the door at 8am in a paper bag and the door was knocked so I'm not sure why there was no hot choice on the menu, even toast or a boiled egg - the crossants were cold and without any jam. I wonder if the choices would fill a big-eater up. A small improvement could be made in our room as the kettle would not reach the plug socket by the tea and coffee tray and we had to plug in at the side of the bed; no big deal really. All that said, my sister and I would stay there again.
