We booked a meal here for the family, as they were here on holiday. I do love this place, quirky and friendly. We were directed to our table, which we had reserved. Unfortunately the window sill was literally covered in very dozy wasps(approx 30 of them) I did go up to the bar to let them know but we were informed that they knew of the situation and the wasps have been treated and wouldn't bother us. I asked if they could be removed as it was quite off putting while we were eating and was told yes they could but they would just come back. I then asked if we could be moved and then was told they could get a dustpan and brush and sweep them off the window sill. We still weren't keen on sitting so close as we had children with us and I asked if we could move tables a little further away from the window ( there were 2/3 tables vacant). That was agreed and I helped move a couple of tables together. It was a shame that this wasn't sorted previously as they were aware of the situation with the wasps and the restaurant wasn't busy that particular evening. But I must say the specials we ordered were really delicious and we would return again for food. I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been for the wasps.

Fantastic service, great location to Polperro pubs, restaurants and harbour , bus stop right outside, loved staying at the Inn as my Grandparents had with my dad when he was a child. In the restaurant theres lots to see about the history of the Inn, and that it may be haunted ! A very welcoming place and a great stay

We have just returned from a 4 night break at The Crumplehorn Inn. My husband and I (along with our Labrador) stayed in the "Arthur" room. The room is a little dated but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The room comes with it's own parking space which you can see from the window, so great for transferring luggage.
The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and served in the main pub area which is cosy and full of character.
We have stayed in Polperro many times but have never stayed at The Crumplehorn Inn before, however we have eaten there many times. We ate dinner here a couple of evenings during our stay and as usual found it wonderful and reasonably priced. It is recommended that you book a table as I appreciate some people had to eat outside when the restaurant was full.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and a special mention to Hannah and Lou who served our meals with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you for a very pleasant stay and we hope to return soon.

So I have came to have some food and a drink with family (6 of us) to be advised that I have to wait till 1700 hrs thats fine so sat outside and waited and had a few drinks and spent over £50

When 1700hrs arrived we ordered our food and it came to £74 all good and no problems until they brought me a bloody wooden fork and knife to eat with.

Asked at the bar if could eat with proper cutlery ie silverware was told no as were sat outside but I had spent over £70.

I can't drink out of a cardboard straw never mind eat with wood as it makes me heave.

Now the food comes out in a cardboard box not even on a plate.

But if I ate inside I would be treated different can't even have a pudding as were sat outside (did request a table inside to be told bookings only) but it was empty.

So were treated different as sat outside but my money is the same as anyone else who visits.

If ist due to covid why serve me with a glass and not plastic glass?

Ruined the day to be fair so refunded for my meal , and I won't come again and won't spend cash hear would rather starve as I am now thanks.

Stay away poor customer service all I wanted was a knife and fork total jokers.

And now some chap ( mr cakehole) who don't like my comments and now come over and spoke in my ear nice and quiet but rather angry and quite threatening at me who is he ,a manager or a regular ?

He did not like my reply and was confrontational to me and i stood up to discuss the issue and he was escorted away by staff.

When I spoke to this member of staff he was fine and I shook his hand.

Using boxes and wooden forks must be creating loads of waste to end up wherever.

Just use proper plates and cutlery and wash up saves the business outgoing expenses what are obviously passed on to the public.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

And the food and drinks are actually overpriced.

No customer service at all.

Years ago this was the in place to go for Sunday dinner, a roast to marvel at, and always plenty of it for the hungry visitors to Polperro. Now it doesn't do a roast of any sort. Right now I would recommend you give it a miss, I wish I had. The menu is no different to any other run of the mill pub, just pricier, and at lunch time they don't serve any sweets or puddings only in the evening can you get these. People vote with their feet and judging from the amount of people in this pub they have, as they say you live and learn I certainly have.

We pre booked a table and had no problem with covid restrictions or social distancing measures. Staff greeted guests at the garden area and we were asked to check in on the covid track app, which we were happy to do. All staff wore face coverings and observed safety of themselves and guests. The food was delicious, fresh, well cooked and presented. An extensive menu covering sandwiches, salads, main courses including seafood, steak and vegetarian options. We chose battered cod with chips and peas. The fish was very fresh with crisp batter but not greasy. We then had dessert. My husband chose lemon tart with a gin and tonic sorbet and I had chocolate brownie with clotted cream. Both are recommended. We were impressed with the warm welcome by both staff and local residents who also ate at the Inn and will happily return during our s
tay in Polperro.

Pleasantly surprised to be honest. Stayed for 3 nights in Arthur room. Very clean, quiet room, just a small slope to access the front door. Double and a single bed, the lady who showed us to our room was very nice and pleasant and said she would return later to make the single bed up for us, she didn't return but I found a duvet and pillows in a cupboard, I couldn't be bothered to make a fuss about it, not worth it and pointless, they got a hard enough job trying to run a business in the current times (covid)
I've got to say the breakfasts are absolutely top notch !!! Couldn't fault it, you order the night before and they notice you when you go down in the morning and within 10 mins it's served lovely and hot. Oh, take the butter out the fridge as soon as you go down otherwise its very hard to spread on your toast lol 😆
The only little mumble I have was dust and cobwebs on a few window sills and up the slope to get to the rooms, I thought while they had been closed for months they could of jet washed it all down, but its not as though you have to walk through it or anything, just doesn't look clean.
Overall the Crumplehorn was comfy and tidy and well priced. Hopefully coming back next year and we'll be booking here again.

Margaret, myself and the dog stayed here for a week in an apartment above the pub. You are allocated a parking space on site which is included in your tariff. The facilities were good but would benefit from a long overdue refurbishment. The staff are helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our continental breakfasts but if you are a full English breakfast you may be disappointed. Our evening meals were hot and tasty and arrived quickly.

Fab location, rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are all absolutely lovely, helpful and go out of their way to assist.
The breakfast included with the booking is delicious, and they can cater to vegans and vegetarians at breakfast, as well as in the main restaurant for lunch and dinner too.

We had visited here a few years before, but had just had a meal in the pub which was lovely and had said that we would love to go back again.
A few years later, we decided to book a room here for the week and use it as a base due to its great location for most of the places that we wanted to visit whilst away on holiday.
Great decision made by myself, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, nothing was too much for any of the staff, the food was always top notch and the room was lovely, clean and comfortable.
We were very lucky with the weather and found ourselves sat outside in the evenings enjoying a drink or two, watching the world go by whilst having a laugh with staff, management and guests. We have made some great friends here and really do hope to go back again and see them.
