After an hour driving around st Ives desperate for a hotel for the night we found longship had a vacancy. Amused by the sign that said "colour tv". We went in and felt we disturbed them, almost as if suspicious of us. The parking was hard work and tight spaces. £90 for a double room, which was small, sink in...

we were staying in Hayle and wanted to extend our stay, however after looking on line everything was full!! A friend recommended the "longships" as she'd seen that there were vacancies. The longships is not usually the kind of place I'd stay, as I like modern hotels, but I am so glad I stayed there, we were given a very...

If you want 5* luxury this is not the hotel for you. However if like us you want a clean comfortable room, good home cooked food and a friendly atmosphere you will be more than happy here. We had a spacious room with plenty of storage and 3 windows (1 with sea view), the staff are efficient and do everything...

We stayed for 3 days in the Longships Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Although it's up a steep hill, this made up for its close proximity to the centre and friendly service. We had a beautiful room with a bay window overlooking the sea, and delicious breakfast each morning. The only improvement would be perhaps some WiFi, but in...

This was a fairly average decent hotel, say 3 stars, but was very clean and the staff helpful and friendly. The food was OK, not exactly Michelin star. I'm a fussy eater yet wasted nothing! The hotel is situated about ten minutes walk from the most beautiful beaches/town centre and it's all steeply uphill so you need to be reasonably...

We enjoyed our stay, with pleasant surroundings, good food and a comfortable room, but found the 'welcome' a bit offputting - a lecture about things we weren't allowed to do and a warning that, if caught smoking, we'd be "out on the street"! Luckily the hosts got more friendly after that.
