My partner and I went to visit Cornwall for the first time together this summer. Not only did we fall in love with St Ives, but we intend to go back every year and stay at Downlong Cottage if we can! Trish and Mike were just the most wonderful hosts and could not have been more accommodating. We had some great chats about St Ives and surrounding areas, wonderfully fresh cooked breakfast every morning, and they even gave me my first taste of fresh crab! We cannot speak highly enough of Downlong Cottage and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in St Ives. The location is perfect! We walked down to the beach (which is literally just round the corner), stopping by Pier Coffee every morning for a great coffee and a peaceful morning by the harbour. There are multiple beaches within walking distance, and some great food too! Our little room was at the top of the stairs and was super cosy and sea themed! Ear plugs will keep the seagulls at bay if you’re a light sleeper ;) All in all, our stay at Downlong Cottage took our visit to Cornwall above and beyond our expectations. Thanks Trish & Mike!

Location is amazing, downside like every downside in st ives is parking. But we wanted this location and it’s worth the initial hassle to do the Cornwall hunt. Micheal and Trish are so welcoming the place is absolutely spotless. We were covid reassured as well from the moment we arrived. It’s in an old building in the narrow streets so space is going to be at a premium in the rooms but ours was more than adequate and the bed was enormous. Wifi! It’s Cornwall just get over it, you can’t play Call of Duty but you can send messages. If not being able to COD is a problem then perhaps you shouldn’t be in StIves! Breakfast was lovely, high quality food and plenty of it. Trish and Micheal have a wealth of knowledge and advice which they happily share. Would not hesitate to recommend this venue to other travellers

We found the place at last minute and it had a vacancy. Really friendly people, good breakfast, nice location. The downsides were that the price was a bit high for my taste (though, to be fair, there wasn't anything cheaper available in St Ives) and that I couldn't find it listed on booking websites

Trish and Michael are the most welcoming hosts. Comfortable rooms with TV and coffee making facilities. Full English breakfast that's to die for! Perfect location just a one minute stroll to the harbour. Everything you could wish for!
