Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very clean site, these guys know what they’re doing! Excellent bar (pub) and restaurant serving delicious food and drink (Open weekends and half term in October). Amenities all there, underfloor heated shower blocks. Pool closed but I would expect it to be in October (that’s why it’s cheaper this time of year). Decent shop, walkable to a bus stop in Halsetown (out of season as in season they provide a bus). Honestly my only tiny gripe would be that the site advertised the soft play as being open till 9pm all year. We arrived with our little one and there was some confusion as it was locked up on the first night. We had to ask a few people how to access it as you have to go through the main restaurant to get to it. After some chatting the owners kept the doors open for us for the week which was really appreciated. The restaurant wasn’t open during the off season weekdays but the access point to it was through this. I think changing the access point would be a benefit, meaning the site can keep the restaurant area closed and safe when not in use. We appreciated that it was out of season but things being advertised as open should be easily accessible. However… don’t let that review put you off! The site is absolutely stunning and you won’t be disappointed! We also accidentally left a large awning mat on our pitch. After contacting Polmanter, they packaged it up and helped me with the courier to get it back to me. All arrived in one piece. Just another great example of the service received at Polmanter. We will book for 2024, for sure.

We have stayed in a lot of apartments/houses over the years in Cornwall but I have to say Polmanter was probably the best! The apartment was so modern, clean, warm and inviting. The kitchen was well equipped. The rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. Good parking right outside the apartment which is quite unique for St Ives. We did use their bus as it’s a fair distance from the town and, as it was late in the season, it didn’t run very often so we used taxis too. Having the onsite restaurant was a plus too with a good menu and we ate there twice - the food was very good and plentiful. When we had problems with the tv following the previous evenings storm, they were quick to get it sorted. We had family staying on-site in their tourer and the grandchildren enjoyed the indoor play area and the park. The toilet facilities for them were lovely, very clean and modern and there seemed to be plenty scattered around the site. Definitely looking forward to visiting again next year albeit in the bungalow and hoping that it will be to the same high standard which I am sure it will be. Hopefully the weather will be better🤣

My husband and I have been coming to Polmanter with our touring caravan since our boys were very very young. They are now 37 and 31 years old!! We have always loved the park and the very friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff. The amount of time and effort the staff put in to ensure you have a lovely relaxed holiday is second to none. There are plenty of toilet/shower blocks and these are kept spotlessly clean and well managed. The park caters for all ages and includes a large sports field, dog exercise field, games room, tennis courts, table tennis tables, outdoor swimming pool and relaxed bar and restaurant to name just a few. If you haven't been to Polmanter I suggest you give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Situated just a 20 minute walk into St.Ives, there is also an excellent bus service to get you back to the site.

Completed our 30th successive year camping at Polmanter in July .The pitches are large and separated by well kept hedges. The whole site is very well maintained and the wash rooms are spotless and cleaned several times a day. There is an onsite shop a swimming pool and we enjoyed the well stocked Stable Bar and dining area. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is a pleasant walk to the beaches in St Ives and in peak season a regular bus service to the town. The site is a credit to the owners and we have recommended it to many of our friends. Already reserved our pitch for next year. John and Shelagh Tomlinson.

Amazing stay pitch size were spacious and private . The toilets and showers were very clean and plenty of room in the shower cubicles and plenty of hot water. We ate in the on site pub a couple of times and the food was lovely. There is a bus that leaves every hour from the site for St Ives if you dont fancy the 30min walk. Will def return.

The site is very well maintained and has excellent features for the whole family, including children's play areas, sports field, outside heated swimming pool, bar and restaurant and a well stocked shop. There is also a frequent bus service to and from the site into St Ives. The shower / toilet blocks are a very good standard with every little feature, to help make customer's stay as comfortable as possible, have been thought of and provided. In addition to catering for caravans / motorhome and tents, the site also has static caravans and four cottages available for rent. Would highly recommend this excellent site.

This is a great touring park to stay at. The Stable Bar serves great food and drinks at reasonable prices, the shower and toilet blocks are kept very clean as are the grounds. All the staff are a very helpful and happy bunch of people. The check in process is ok if the weather is reasonable but if the weather had been bad the walk between the holding area and the reception desk, in order to check in, would not have been an enjoyable experience. Perhaps a different method of checking in could be adopted which would not be impacted by the weather. The last time we stayed we chose a hard standing pitch with electricity and this time we chose a fully serviced grass pitch which would have been much better had it been drier weather. The previous occupants had obviously put up an awning which left the ground that it covered muddy and as we do not put up an awning it was a bit muddy getting to and from the caravan. It would have been sensible if we had taken some form of matting to put underneath the steps into the caravan, which we will do if we decide on a fully serviced grass pitch again. This was a slight downside to our visit and overall a good experience because it taught us a lesson which we won't forget and has helped us to prepare for future visits. We took a lovely walk into St Ives from the site and then got on the bus from St Ives which took us back to Polmanter. We will return again to this site as it has everything we like - a lovely restaurant /bar, a great dog walking and exercise area with a small agility course, a wonderful swimming pool, very clean shower and toilet blocks and generous sized pitches.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting very much from the site. It was everything we try to avoid. Has a swimming pool, family oriented and pretty big, but it was perfect. Clean, groomed and excellent service. I’m not sure if I’d liked it in pan season rammed with kids, but out of season it was actually perfect for us. And St Ives!! Just turned 60 and it was my first visit. Very happy with the whole experience.
