We stayed at this holiday park for three nights over the bank holiday weekend. Check in was quick and the staff on reception were very welcoming. We stayed in a silver 2 bedroom chalet and had no problem finding a parking space near by. If you have mobility issues I would recommend speaking to the site before arrival as some chalets are more easily accessible than others. Our chalet was clean and plenty of space for a base. There was a large sofa, dining table for 4, small kitchen ( with a slightly worrying electric socket over the draining board next to the sink) , shower room with W/C and 2 bedrooms (a double and a twin) . The chalets are detached which meant we didn’t hear noise from other chalets. The beds were comfortable and made up for our arrival. There are a few woodland walks on site which was great as we had our dog with us. We did not use any of the site facilities so unable to comment on these. We walked into St Ives along the coastal path which is about 5 miles and beautiful but if this was too far , there is a regular bus that goes to and from St Ives bus station or Ace taxis have a fixed rate for st Ive holiday park guests ( £8.50 each way for up to four people) . There were a couple of issues we experienced during our stay. On arrival the TV was broken but this was quickly replaced but with no batteries for the remote. Eventually we got the batteries only to discover it was not the correct remote for the tv. After waiting 2 days for batteries we just watched the channel it was on as was not in most of the time anyway. There were only 3 plates and 4 of everything else. So we again had to request the additional crockery so all the guests had a plate to eat off. We decide to try out the restaurant takeaway service on our last morning and so after looking up the opening times on their website we went to order, but when we went to order we were told it wasn’t open for another hour. Personally if checkout is 10 but you don’t start serving breakfast until 9am that doesn’t give you much time to clear up, pack up and get out of the accommodation so we ate breakfast elsewhere. Top tip: the kitchen equipment was very basic so it’s worth taking your own wok/ large saucepan etc if you intend on eating in. You will also need your own t towels, washing up stuff , bath mat etc. Overall We would use this holiday park again as it was good value for money and a great location for exploring St Ives, you get what you pay for so if you are looking for luxury maybe try their more expensive accommodation or somewhere else.

Hi UkDev Thanks for your review. I'm sure other holidaymakers will find all of your tips about the local area and our accommodation useful. I'm sorry there was a problem with the TV which we weren't able to rectify - I hope it was a good channel you got stuck on! I have noted your comments about the Restaurant and passed that feedback on so that we can perhaps review our opening times on check in days if that is practical. We hope to see you again in the future. Best wishes, Emily

Looking at previous reviews it would appear the cheaper basic accommodation is poor. We stayed in a two bed platinum hot tub lodge and when compared with Forest holidays who we have previously used we were happy with our accommodation and what we paid.
Due to Covid 19 the usual facilites were not fully open this did not affect our holiday.
The lodge had been cleaned to a very high standard. There are loads of cupboards, draws, space in wardrobes.
The kitchen was very big but had limited equipment, six of everything, only one frying pan and no baking trays.
Don't forget to bring fairly liquid, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls etc as nothing is provided.
Most evenings we did the woodland walk to take our boy to the park in there. We also used the park up at the club house, this area did look tired and dated but it didnt stop us from ordering a drink and sitting outside while our boy played.
Things that could improve the lodge is to provide bath mats and robes for the hot tub. We had to take six towel with us, one for after showering then the other for the beach. The next morning one of these was always wet after being in the hot tub so we had to put the heating on to dry our towels on the radiators. Everyone steps back in their lodge dripping wet straight onto the carpet (same from the bathrooms) which over time will ruin them, robes & bath mats would stop this.
While we were in the hot tub a gust of wind blew the cover down, luckily my husband blocked it from hitting my son on the head. There isnt enough space to safely rest the cover other places we have visited have a safety bar or stap in place.
The walls are very thin in the lodge similar to a caravan but there was no noise heard from outside.
After the first night I slept very well but the bed was very soft and the mattress was not great quality so my husband did struggle as he has a bad back.
We ate out for breakfast twice at the Balcony Bar in St Ives, had fish & chips take away from Becks near Carbis Bay, Sunday carvery at Badger Inn Lelant - all were excellent.
If we were to return to the area then we would consider booking the same accommodation again.

Stayed here on the 6th July for 4 nights Monday to Friday in a group of 4 adults celebrating a birthday. We stayed in a 6 berth caravan lodge with a hot tub. The lodge was brand new so no faults on the appearance of it as I believe we were the first people to stay in it and you could tell the lodge had been cleaned down. We wasn't sure what to expect with it being the first week of it opening back up but we had no issues what so ever. We had a quiet stay with no trouble. We didn't use any of the facilities other than in the lodge so cant comment. The park was nice and quiet. We got a really good deal with it being the first week and were happy with what we paid but probably wouldn't pay what they are up for now as we have stayed in better hot tub lodges ,you are paying for the location more than anything. Only improvements we would make is the extractor fan was too high up above the oven so this meant it didn't get rid of all the smoke so the fire alarm would often go off when cooking, there was only 1 shelf in the oven and the oven seemed to take forever to cook even being brand new and the doors seemed to really rattle in the caravan causing a lot of noise. But overall great stay with some very minor improvements.

Hello Hannah What a lovely review! Thank you, we really appreciate it. Your 5 star praise will mean so much to the manager, Paul and his team at the park. They all work extremely hard to make everyone’s stay enjoyable. There are always teething problems with new lodges and I have passed your observations on to the park Now that you have sampled what we do and how well we do it, we would hope that you will come back to see us again very soon. I originally booked for the last week of August 2020, but due to the Covid restrictions the holiday had to be moved to 2021. We were offered various dates, but all were Monday to Monday rather than our original Saturday to Saturday, which wasn't ideal but did mean we could move it to July, at an extra cost. Check in and check out times had also changed, meaning in reality we lost a day of our holiday. I know this isn't the only park who have done this and it is for more time to "deep clean" the caravans, although lets be honest, surely the caravans should be deep cleaned anyway?? So why the extra time needed? Due to check out being moved to 9am on a Monday, we decided to leave the Sunday night and travel home overnight, which was better as we missed the traffic, highly recommend!
The caravan was a silver 6 berth, although we were a family of 5. It was very nice. It was clean. The kitchen was well stocked with items needed for a self catering holiday including a microwave, fridge freezer big enough for a weeks shop, and a dishwasher. The "master" bedroom had a small en-suite with a toilet and sink, which was great. The main bathroom, was a shower, sink and toilet. All very clean and spacious. The park itself was clean and pleasant, although not peaceful. Just be aware it is a Family Park, so lots of young children. For us with older teenagers, we will stay in an air bnb next time, purely as they were not interested in the parks entertainment and preferred to sit on the deck playing games as a family. So I cannot really comment on the entertainment in the evening. Going through to reception, it did look very tired and a little dated. We were surprised as thought they would of used the past years restrictions to do some updating as have many businesses, that is a personal thought and does not reflect upon anything else. It would be nice if possible to see a one way system implemented into the park for the cars as the paths are quite narrow expecially as you come off the little roundabout in the park and a bottleneck occurs too easily, especially when taxis are dropping off or picking up. There is a small shop which seemed to be well stocked and reasonably priced. The restaurant is very small, do not expect too much. The choices are very limited.
All in all it is a good place as a base for sightseeing around this area of Cornwall.

Hi there Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and leave such detailed feedback, I'm sure it will be useful for future guests. Our check in time has changed from 4pm to 5pm to allow for the sanitisation we have carry out between check ins. This anti-viral spray needs time to settle before our guests occupy the accommodation, hence the slight delay. You should have been able to check out at 10am as normal though although it sounds like you missed all the traffic which is no bad thing. I'm pleased that your accommodation was clean and comfortable and you found it good as a base for exploring the local area. I was a little surprised by your comments about Reception as our whole venue (including Reception) had a complete refurbishment over the lock down period. I do hope you would consider staying with us again in the future. Best wishes, Emily

We visited St Ives Holiday village on the 23rd August and stayed for 4 nights, after reading previous negative reviews i felt slightly apprehensive and Didnt know what to expect. we arrived just after 2pm and although we had been told on booking that we were unable to check in until 5 we were pleasantly surprised when we were told we could check in at 3, the check in ran smoothly and we were given the keys to our home for the next 4 days. We stayed in a 3 bedroom platinum hot tub lodge, there were 7 of us and in hindsight we probably should have booked a 4 bed as it was quite tight for space (but I couldn’t justify the big price difference so we just took an air bed and our youngest slept in our room - would be perfect for a family of 5 or 6 though) The lodge itself was nice, it was clean enough but we did find a number of dead wasps in the lounge and the top of the cupboards in one bedroom was very dusty (only found this out trying to utilise storage space). On inspection of all the utilities we found there wasnt any baking trays in the oven but the staff at reception were super helpful and we had trays delivered within half an hour. Big downside was the beds are very hard, luckily we had bought an extra duvet and blankets and I’m sure if we had asked they would have provided extra to make the beds more comfortable though. The hot tub was amazing, really clean and warm, it was a very welcome relaxing treat after a long day 🙂, it really made the holiday feel so much more special. It actually turned out the wasps were coming from a very busy active nest which was right outside the lodge, I mentioned it to reception just to make them aware not thinking there was much they could do but to our relief after being plagued for two days and unable to sit outside until the sun went in we returned to see that they had sorted the problem as the wasps were gone. 🙂 We didn’t actually use the clubhouse or see any evening entertainment as in the current (covid) climate didn’t feel comfortable with how busy it was, but others we spoke to said it was ok for the kiddies. The facilities are a little dated and definitely in need of a cash injection and renewal, I think for the size of the site there is definitely room for improvement there. We did use the pool once and again it is quite dated, however the kids had a great time and there was only around 15 people in the pool (including us) at the time and the two girls who were on lifeguard duty that day were lovely. In fact all the staff we had dealings with were very polite, professional and lovely, we found the on-site shop to be well stocked and had most things, again the lady who worked in there was really nice and helpful, although we did pop to Asda and get most of our food there which is only 10 mins up the road. In conclusion although a bit of an update in certain areas is needed this place doesn’t deserve the negative reviews. (Had the facilities been more modern I would give 5 stars). We would however definitely book to come back again. Thanks guys 🙂

We stayed at St Ives Holiday Village in July from Friday-Monday which was booked as part of The Sun deal. Check in was quick and easy, the bronze chalet we stayed in was fairly basic but was very clean. The kitchen was well equipted with toaster, microwave, pleanty of plates, cutlery and cooking utensils, again all very clean and organised. The only thing was the TV was quite small, but we werne't there to watch TV so I'm not marking down for that.
There were regular buses running into St Ives. The shop on site had everything we might need. We ddidn't try the resteraunt or pool but we did watch the England game on the screen in the entertainment room which was very busy but drinks were easy to order on the app.
All in all we had a great break here, thanks St Ives Holiday Village <3

We booked our October break back in February, as most places were sold out due to the staycation boom. I had never heard of John Fowler holidays, but we chose St Ives holiday village due to the location. When we saw negative reviews we did wonder what we would be arriving to 🤦🏻♀️.
We booked a platinum (hot tub) caravan for 4 nights from the 18th October.
The motorways were kind to us & we arrived shortly after 3pm & the caravan was ready for us. The caravan was spotlessly clean & the kitchen area contained everything that we needed. We had pre-ordered a breakfast pack (sausages, bacon, bread, eggs, beans, tinned tomatoes, tea, coffee, cereal, orange juice, milk, butter & cooking oil), which saved any shopping on arrival. This lasted us the 4 nights we were there.
There were robes & slippers included for the hot tub.
The park made a great base for exploring St Ives, Penzance, Hayle, Lands End, Lizard Point & Gwithian Beach.
There is a bus stop at the park entrance, we didn’t use it, but would save you ££ on parking during the day in St Ives.
We can’t comment on the entertainment or leisure facilities as we didn’t use them.
Even though the park was fully booked, it was very peaceful & guests were respectful of keeping the noise down.
The park is set in extensive woodland, we enjoyed the woodland walk, especially with the Autumn colours in the trees.
Big shout out to the maintenance man who checked our hot tub each morning!
I don’t understand why there were a number of negative reviews, we found the park to be clean & covid safe & staff were helpful.
We would stay here again - thank you for allowing us to have a lovely break 🙂.

We stayed in a silver chalet mon-fri and it had everything we needed, it was clean and covid restrictions in place.
The location is great but would recommend taking a car, without a car you would have to do a lot of walking/public transport. We walked to Carbis bay which took around 40 minutes then a further 15-20 minutes to st Ives harbour (there is a train that runs from Carbis to st Ives for £1 and is a 3min journey).
There is an Asda Superstore a couple of minutes drive away to get stocked up.
We didn’t take advantage of the onsite facilities much so can’t comment on those but this accommodation had everything we needed to sleep, shower and cook as we were hardly there as we were out exploring all day!
Chalet could do with a clean outside but other than that it was perfect and would definitely return!

On arrival at 5pm check in we immediately noticed the outdoor area of our silver bungalow accommodation was absolutely covered in spider webs, eggs and lots of debris that had been there for months. On complaining the receptionist said ‘well we are in the woods!’ We found this rude and untrue as we also found lots of cob webs and spiders eggs and other insects INSIDE our accommodation that had obviously not been cleaned for a long long time. We totally understand the COVID situation and staff shortages but we really felt the cleaning was inadequate and needs to be vastly improved!
Everything smelled damp and very dated accommodation.
It is a shame as the village is in such a good location for exploring Cornwall, luckily we had good weather so we didn’t have to spend much time in our substandard bungalow!

We recently came here on a sun holiday. I paid extra to stay in the silver caravan lodge and it was so worth it. The caravan was lovely, so modern and clean. We even had a bath tub in our en suite! The kitchen had an island in it and so much storage. All the pots and pans were in very good condition and the frying pan was actually non stick which you don't find in many caravans.
During our stay we used many of the facilities.
The bar is a good size, the prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly.
The evening entertainment was really good and we thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the JCB song.
They had bingo on every evening we didn't take part but we couldn't believe how much people were winning! They also do one game where half the takings goes to charity which is amazing!
We didn't eat in the restaurant but we did order some chips from there and the portion was really good for just £2.50. All the food prices were very reasonable.
I did nip to the shop and was surprised at the selection of stuff they sold again all at reasonable prices.
We didn't use the arcade as it was more for the kids and collecting tickets. This could do with an update and some better machines but overall it seemed alright for the children that were using it.
The day before we left we visited the pool. We were relieved that it was kept at a nice 31 degrees and they provided balls, floats and nets for everyone to play with, this was a nice touch and we enjoyed our time in the pool.
The staff at this site are lovely from being checked in to leaving not one member of staff was unpleasant and all were friendly.
We didn't have linen included in our stay but the bed was bigger than the standard double fitted sheet we'd brought. I spoke to a nice lady on reception and she arranged for a sheet to be brought to our caravan at no cost.
On our last day we met Christine the general manager. She was getting stuck in with cleaning the entertainment area which was nice to see. We spoke with her for a while and she was very friendly. It's so nice to see how passionate she is about the site and all the plans she has for it.
Overall I would recommend this site to anyone looking to stay in St Ives, the location is fantastic, 10 min drive to St Ives and about 6 mins to Carbis Bay and a big Tesco. The staff are friendly and helpful and the caravan lodges are of a very high standard. Some modernisation is needed for the pool and arcade areas but these seem to be in the pipework already.
We're definitely looking to go back and our families have already booked for next year.
Thank you to everyone there :) x

Buses are regularly at the shop
The open top bus drops you off on the outskirts of St Ives and it's a bit of a walk up hill as they can't actually access the town. Probably about 10 to 15 minutes. Not sure about the local bus which also comes into the park.
