A great find in St Ives. I had researched lots of hotels and B&B's but none match this B&B. Such a warm welcome from Sue & Mike and incredibly clean and covid secure with face masks inside the B&B. Beautifully furnished with stunning pictures and tasteful nautical accessories. My husband and I chose room 5 which came with fantastic views of Porthminster beach, great use of space with chest of drawers, plenty of room for all hanging clothes. The bathroom was beautifully finished and nice to have a B&B bathroom which had a shower where you don't knock your elbows when you are washing your hair. Anyone who is not able bodied I would recommend the floor below so there aren't as many stairs to climb or you could use the fire escape entrance that goes to the car park. It is also quiet and didn’t hear any noise from other rooms. A great extra of this B&B which I have never had elsewhere is use of a guest lounge and outside patio area in case one night you fancied a takeaway. The guest lounge had a fridge, plates, cutlery etc which was ideal. Parking as we chose room 5 it came with free parking, huge parking area at the back cleverly marked out with 4 spaces so you couldn't get blocked in as there is a large gap down the centre. Breakfast was a pre-agreed slot when you check in. The hot breakfast menu was extensive ranging from full english, sausage/bacon bap etc. All good ingredients where the sausages clearly have high meat %. It would be great to have pastries, bagels, bowl of individual satsumas/bananas etc for the continental side of things. For the continental there was a choice of toast, 4/5 cereals, yoghurt, mixed chopped fruit and madeleines. This Boutique B&B is such great value for money though and parking (where other places expect you to pay the high rates of council car parks). The cancellation policy they have during these times is amazing so if you are unwell due to covid or ever in the situation again of local lockdowns they will refund you in full no problem at all. I can't wait to stay again and my mum and dad are looking to book for next year

Thank you to our hosts for a truly memorable stay. Friendly, accommodating and a room with an amazing view. Room No 1. The accommodation was very clean and the breakfast was delicious 😋. We could not have asked for more. St Ives itself was absolutely lovely , the beaches, the town everyone was very friendly. Would recommend No4 St Ives and will certainly return for another break. We stayed at No4 for a full 7 nights, to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. The property is lovely - it's all very modern with a clean, white & blue nautical feel to it (appropriate for the coast). Our room was clean and bright with an excellent view over the sea. A kettle and teas/coffees are provided in the room; our hosts Sue & Mike ask that guests don't eat in the room but this didn't bother us at all. There's a shared fridge and wine glasses in a guest lounge which we used for the occasional bottle of wine, and to store a picnic for the beach the next day (labels are provided so you can mark anything as yours). No wardrobe, but 8 drawers, and a rack with 12 coathangers was provided which was plenty. Lots of plug sockets, and sockets by the bed have USB sockets built-in. It's in a good location. The centre of St Ives is very walkable, 5 minutes away. It's a little bit of a steep walk back to the B&B but nothing too strenuous. It's also just far enough away from the touristy centre that driving in and out is much easier - if you stay at some of the accommodation on the front the driving is a lot more difficult because of the volume of people around. The location is likely quieter than the seafront as well - we never had any noise problems at night. Breakfasts are great. Choice of full English, bacon/sausage/egg butties, eggs on toast, beans on toast, cereals, fruit, yoghurt - classic B&B breakfast menu, but they're happy to make any adjustments if you ask. There's also the occasional breakfast special available. Mike's a great cook and the sausages in particular are great - all their food is as locally-sourced as it can be. Sue was brilliantly helpful from the start. Almost as soon as we'd booked, she emailed to let us know about parking arrangements (the 4 premium rooms, of which we had one, have guaranteed on-site parking), and even gave us some restaurant recommendations and advised that we book early as there would be a festival on while we were staying. Really helpful, and so glad we did as it would have been near impossible to arrange bookings once we were there. Sue also offered to put up Happy Anniversary bunting in our room, which was a lovely touch. Both Sue and Mike really seem to relish having guests, and found the time to chat to guests about any recommendations for days out, restaurants, things to do etc. A great stay all round - if you're planning a trip to St Ives, No4 is an excellent place to base yourself. Finally - we are, incidentally, a gay couple - this had NO bearing on our stay whatsoever and I only mention it so any gay couples reading this can book with the assurance that you'll be warmly received.

Sue and Mike have created the perfect B&B, from the moment we arrived they made us feel so welcome and nothing was to much trouble. Our room had amazing views and was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need. True to other reviews the breakfasts were amazing with a good range of options (home made veggie potato cakes were amazing). We loved the fresh fruit salads and all ingredients were top quality. We can not recommend this B&B highly enough. A massive thank you to Sue and Mike for our stay and for helping me to surprise my wife with flowers for our anniversary and decorating the room, it was a really nice touch. We will definitely be back. Gareth and Kerry.
