We are not typically great at getting round to writing reviews but the fact that we hadn't yet written one for our wonderful stay at No4 back in April has been weighing heavy and so it feels good to finally right that wrong.
We stayed at No4 as part of our South West coast path walking tour and immediately knew on arrival that we had booked the best place in St Ives - Sue made us feel so welcome even though we arrived somewhat weary and dishevelled. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean with everything we could need for our stay. Breakfast was AMAZING! (Thank you Mike) We were so impressed we ended up staying an extra night. Sue & Mike you both work so hard and clearly love what you do. You deserve the great reviews you get on here.

A great find in St Ives. I had researched lots of hotels and B&B's but none match this B&B.
Such a warm welcome from Sue & Mike and incredibly clean and covid secure with face masks inside the B&B. Beautifully furnished with stunning pictures and tasteful nautical accessories.
My husband and I chose room 5 which came with fantastic views of Porthminster beach, great use of space with chest of drawers, plenty of room for all hanging clothes. The bathroom was beautifully finished and nice to have a B&B bathroom which had a shower where you don't knock your elbows when you are washing your hair. Anyone who is not able bodied I would recommend the floor below so there aren't as many stairs to climb or you could use the fire escape entrance that goes to the car park. It is also quiet and didn’t hear any noise from other rooms.
A great extra of this B&B which I have never had elsewhere is use of a guest lounge and outside patio area in case one night you fancied a takeaway. The guest lounge had a fridge, plates, cutlery etc which was ideal.
Parking as we chose room 5 it came with free parking, huge parking area at the back cleverly marked out with 4 spaces so you couldn't get blocked in as there is a large gap down the centre.
Breakfast was a pre-agreed slot when you check in. The hot breakfast menu was extensive ranging from full english, sausage/bacon bap etc. All good ingredients where the sausages clearly have high meat %. It would be great to have pastries, bagels, bowl of individual satsumas/bananas etc for the continental side of things. For the continental there was a choice of toast, 4/5 cereals, yoghurt, mixed chopped fruit and madeleines.
This Boutique B&B is such great value for money though and parking (where other places expect you to pay the high rates of council car parks).
The cancellation policy they have during these times is amazing so if you are unwell due to covid or ever in the situation again of local lockdowns they will refund you in full no problem at all.
I can't wait to stay again and my mum and dad are looking to book for next year

We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't have asked for better. Mike and Sue were wonderful friendly hosts - they have the perfect balance of being around but giving you space and had great tips for exploring the local area. The place was spotless and felt newly decorated. The room had very nice wallpaper and furnishings and was very spacious and comfortable with everything you would need...the Elmis toiletries were a nice touch.
The breakfast had a wide selection with all the hot options made to order. The bacon and egg sandwich on the last morning was delicious!
The Covid precautions were very well thought through, we were sent information ahead of our stay and were provided with hand sanitisers. We felt very safe without it feeling in your face!
I would highly reccomend staying here.

Cannot recommend this wonderful little B&B enough and will definitely be staying there again. We have stayed in the same B&B in St Ives for the last 8 years and decided to have a change this year and OMG so glad we did - what a real treat!!! Superb hosts, fabulous breakfast each morning and our room was amazing. We stayed in Room 2 which was Immaculately clean, lovely fresh decor, sea views being a real delight and ohhhh I loved the Elemis miniature toiletries which was a real hit for me and not to be shared with my husband! Our room came with a guaranteed parking space which was an added bonus and the location was just spot on after a very full meal and a drink or to of an evening!!!! Thanks Sue & Mike for a truly wonderful stay and hope to see you next year for sure x

Just returned from another superb visit To No. 4 St Ives. Despite the current restrictions the stay was the usual relaxing enjoyable break that we were in need of. Sue & Mike have made everything as safe as possible regarding sanitizing and social distancing which made us feel very safe and comfortable. The views, rooms, breakfasts & parking ( with certain rooms) make this the perfect place to stay in St Ives. We'll be back again next year. Well done Sue & Mike great hospitality as usual !! See you next year.

Hubby and I stayed for 4 nights at No'4 and could not fault it. It's our No 1 for a return visit!
Mike and Sue are the perfect hosts; the accommodation is spotless, beautifully decorated and offers everything you need for a great stay.
The location is just a few minutes walk from the main centre of St Ives and is very quiet (apart from the seagulls which are everywhere in St Ives)!
Breakfast is cooked to perfection by Mike with Sue and her friendly assistant making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Great choice on the menu too.
Covid precautions were very well executed, leaving us with our room as our sanctuary throughout our stay.
Would not hesitate in recommending No'4 and hope to return soon.
Thank you Mike and Sue for a perfect stay. 😍

The B&B is situated a 5 minute walk from main harbour front of St Ives and even closer to Porthminster Beach. The on-site parking meant that there was none of the usual struggle for parking and the location meant that we avoided all of the driving through narrow streets, while still being in the town.
Sue and Mike were the nicest hosts, greeting us on arrival and providing us useful information about St Ives, especially during the current pandemic climate. We had to leave early on the last day and Sue very kindly provided us with a packed breakfast for the long journey back.
The room (Room 1) was immaculate and nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfasts are all cooked to order and included everything from fresh fruit to full English.
Could not find a single fault with the B&B, so thank you Sue and Mike!

Just returned from 4 nights stay at the No 4 St Ives and I couldn’t recommend it enough! It’s in a fantastic location overlooking the harbour of St Ives, within 10 minutes walk to the harbour itself… it couldn’t be more central if it tried!
The hosts are just superb and totally had to the brilliance of the accommodation! Sue & Mike are super, so friendly and totally welcoming! Nothing is too much to ask, whether you’re checking in at a funny hour or you need a specific milk with your coffee… they’re so accommodating! We were met by them on arrival with a guided tour of the hotel and to the area and they’re always there to provide recommendations etc if needed.
The hotel itself is modern with a beachy flare, it’s beautiful! The rooms are perfectly sized and fresh, with plenty of storage facilities as well to unpack fully!
It’s an absolute bonus that with some of the rooms you get parking on site included but if not there is a car park around 5/10 mins walk away instead. Your room will state where you can park etc!
Fantastic time in St Ives and I couldn’t recommend No.4 enough, you must go! We’ll 100% be back, it was perfect at this accommodation… don’t hesitate, book book book!

If you are planning to stay in St. Ives, look no further! Book this place!
We stayed for four nights and we were very impressed! We had room number 7, a good size for the two of us. The room was very clean and the bed was big! Parking is included in your stay and the location is centrally located to St. Ives and the train station is a simple 5 minute walk.
Sue and Mike took excellent care of us! Each morning your breakfast is included in your cost per night. The breakfast bar is self-service with fruit, cereal, coffee and tea. Sue will take your order for a hot entree and Mike will work his magic in the kitchen. We enjoyed the full english breakfast and the eggs benedict. They even had a special for one of the mornings during our stay.
Each morning you can put your 'order sheet' for items needed in your room into a box in the breakfast room. We appreciated this very much - this means no one enters your room during your stay but you are able to request items for replenishment such as towels, bottles of water, coffee/tea, etc. We liked this easy process and received what we needed when we returned back to our rooms after being out for the day.
They have thought of everything you could need at this excellent B&B and even helped us with dinner restaurant recommendations for a couple of the nights. We highly recommend booking and we would stay again!

Amazing stay the Covid safety measures are top notch. Nothing is to much trouble and the welcome is very good. The rooms where so good and the attention to detail is wonderful. For all your women a mirror a plug in the same space with a holder for hairdryer and space for brush and strictness all in one place. The rooms where big, modern, clean and bright with big fluffy towels. The breakfast room was well run and the food was good quality and well cooked. On top of this parking and close to the harbour. I highly recommend this as a place to stay.
