Detailed Reviews
Had a wonderful week in this well appointed spacious self catering accommodation. Roy Liu is a thoughtful and generous host, and extremely helpful.
The room upstairs is open plan and consists of the kitchen/dining area and sitting room. The kitchen/dining area has all you need - gas hob, oven, microwave, fridge with ice box, kettle, dishwasher and washing machine. The living room area has a large comfortable L shaped sofa and television. Downstairs the bedroom has a large double bed, the bathroom has a bath and separate shower. There is WiFi. Also, the accommodation boasts an of road parking space. Windsor Hill is very steep, so the turn-off into the parking area has to be managed carefully.
The accommodation is very close to the beaches, shops, pubs, restaurants and art galleries of St Ives. All in all, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend it.

My wife and I stayed here during this last week (October half-term) - we love St Ives and looked online for places to stay. We found this jewel of a place and am very glad we did too! Situated very close to the town (literally 3mins walk) and harbour front, with parking!! Nice and quiet - it was a wonderful find, the bed was extremely comfy, the facilities were immaculately clean, comfortable and functional and above all - the owners/hosts, Roy and Vicky, were some of the most genuinely lovely people we've ever met, they made us feel incredibly welcome and that nothing was too much to ask - thank you! The front room we stayed in had a lovely view of the harbour, wifi was provided too. Not a B&B but all items needed to cater for breakfast were provided. Can't say how grateful we are to have found it, we will definitely be back! As we are expecting our first child we'd be more than happy to take our child with us to this wonderful place! Try this place out, you will not be disappointed!

What a delightful place to stay in St Ives!
We stayed for 3 nights in the double room with sea view and would have happily stayed for longer.
We were given a very warm welcome by Roy and his wife and were immediately made to feel at home.
The house is so interesting and full of pieces of original artwork.
The room has everything you need, down to shampoo, perfume, cutlery ,crockery and milk in the truly silent fridge.
The car parking space was a real bonus and we didn’t need to move the car as we simply enjoyed walking everywhere.
Roy kindly gave us live directions over the phone on our arrival as we had got lost.
There are plenty of good restaurants and cafes in St Ives which we walked to. We hope we are now more fit after going up and down the hills.
The icing on the cake was the free use of the Tate card which we used multiple times to visit both the Tate gallery and the Hepworth museum which were wonderful.
We also walked up to the Leach pottery which was well worth the effort and very interesting.
The position of the house on the hill with a sea view is amazing. After a day exploring it was lovely to return to the room and sit in the cosy chairs with a glass of wine and watch the sea or read a book.
What more could you want?
Thank you both.

I have never felt the need to write a review like this before but people must be warned!
I stayed here with my young son last week as a pre 5th birthday treat and No 8 Windsor pretty much ruined our trip! Roy, the owner was rude, condescending and could not have made us feel less welcome. My son had a small accident, completely out of character but hey these things happen with children, on our first night and when I told Roy the next day and apologised he was livid and proceeded to shout at me in front of my young Son?! That night I find that we have been left with one pillow only each (punishment, I don't know?!) and have had a thick sheet of tarpaulin like material put under our sheet with no attempt to make it comfortable. I got less that three hours sleep. Also a bag of clothes that had been separated from the rest as they needed to be laundered, that I had left in the room had been discarded. I actually did not even bother bringing it up as I knew they would not care! The room was dirty, the decor was tacky, no shower gel, flannels or shampoo was provided. On our second night there the water in our room ran BROWN! I unformed Roy that we were unable to wash and had no drinking water and asked if we could have some bottled water for the morning. His response- no and it should run clear by the morning! In other words, he did not care. Roy also felt the need to tell me 8 times (and I counted) that I must vacate the room by 10am. Even texting me half an hour before check out. This again made us feel very unwelcome.
We were promised a Tate pass and on the morning of the check out I asked for it and was again told- no! I even had trouble getting him to agree to keep a small travel bag and Trunkie there for the day so we could explore St Ives a bit more. Initially he would not agree to keeping them for more than two hours?!
I have stayed in 5 star hotels, your run of the mill B&B's and little shacks in Thailand, THIS IS THE WORST PLACE I'VE EVER STAYED! Go elsewhere!

We've stayed in the Loft twice now, and will be doing so again this year in late September.
Very clean and well appointed.
Has a fabulously large and comfortable bed.
Would highly recommend staying here.

Myself and my girlfriend have just returned from a two night stay at No.8 and what can we say, it was brilliant. Roy helped us out a lot when we arrived as we ended up on the wrong street but he came and showed us where to go, he even helped guide my car to the parking space and helped with our luggage. The bedroom was lovely and cosy and very clean, the bed was really comfortable and we actually got a better nights sleep than we do at home! When visiting St Ives again in the future I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend anyone else to stop at No.8.

We spent two happy nights in the flat with a sea view and wished we could have stayed longer!
Our initial impression, after negotiating some very narrow roads to reach the property, was that we were a bit out of the town but in actual fact it took only five minutes or so to walk down to Fore Street and all the shops. Coming back uphill took slightly longer but certainly kept us fit!
The flat was very well heated and contained some lovely old furniture. We were there during some of the really bad storms but found the place a haven of peace and quiet. The bed was king size and really comfortable.
Roy and Vickie were perfect hosts and, as other visitors have noted, very welcoming and helpful.
We thought this flat was remarkably good value and would happily recommend it as a base to explore St Ives.

We stayed for two nights with Roy and Vickie and they could not have been more accommodating. Roy was good enough to collect us and our bags from the station and dropped us off at the end of our stay. We had bedroom 2 which was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Minutes from town and a great base from which to explore.

Stayed for two nights in May and had a lovely time. The room was ideal and had a warm feel to it, with plenty of character. The welcome we received was great and both hosts were very approachable and very knowledgeable about local restaurants, local sights and walks. It is within walking distance to St Ives and we will be definitely returning and recommending it to friends and family.
