Michael House is the perfect way to find out how well prepared and cooked vegan meals can be but this isn't the only feature. Vanessa ensures you a warm welcome into her delightful 2 bedroomed B & B with the most exquisite views over the Cornish countryside to the sea beyond.
The rooms have ample space for two people with comfortable chairs in front of large windows to enjoy the view. The beds are extremely comfortable and both rooms have separate en suite bathrooms.
Vanessa's extensive vegan menu offers so much to choose from and every single meal we chose from breakfast to dinner was a delight. Not only that, Vanessa is very willing to share the recipes with you and is deeply knowledgeable on the philosophies and reasons that underlay a vegan life choice without ever putting any kind of pressure to convert!
This very pleasant house is very close to a footpath leading down to the nearby beach and is not far from the SW Coastal Path leading to Tintagel Castle which is a very beautiful walk along the cliff tops taking about 1 hour.
For a relaxing stay at very reasonable costs with a vegan cuisine I can really recommend a stay at Michael House.

The most amazing b&b ive ever had the pleasure of staying with. The breakfast was truly fantastic, with a full English, pancakes, fruit, and freshly baked bread every day. The rooms are absolutely beautiful with amazing views. Vanessa, the host, is so welcoming and friendly as well as her parade of cats! Also the value for money is outstanding. I really cant wait to return!

This is the second time my son and I have stayed in this little vegan haven and we will certainly be back. Hosts can not do enough to make your stay comfortable and there are lots of little extras such as chocolates on the bed and fresh coffee and biscuits on arrival.
The food is great and plentiful with fresh baked bread for breakfast, granola, fruit salad and yogurt, toast, lots of different milks and a choice of cooked breakfasts and good coffee. You can request up to three courses in the evenings and packed lunches can be requested. I have thoroughly enjoyed everything Vanessa made for us.
The rooms are comfortable with lovely views and friendly animals are on site but kept away if you so prefer.
All of this wonderful hospitality at a price that simply cannot be beaten

We arrived on a rainy day and soon found ourselves in a spacious, comfortable room with a huge bed (Room 1) and two comfy chairs in front of the window with a beautiful view down to the sea. Vanessa brought us tea and biscuits so we didn’t even have to make that ourselves, we could just relax and enjoy the vista! We also booked the evening meal and that was outstanding, what an impressive cook Vanessa is! Interesting dinner conversations with the other guest couple made the evening complete. Breakfast was much the same, my husband had the 'Full Michael’ but I just couldn’t manage that after the meal the night before….. We can thoroughly recommend this exceptional vegan B&B, you won’t be disappointed!

We had an absolutely fantastic long weekend with Vanessa and Simon and their lovely furry family at Michael House.
The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, especially the home baked bread every morning.
The evening meals were just fabulous.
Our view was just stunning, and it is in a great situation to visit all of the amazing and beautiful places surrounding.
We loved every minute of our stay and very much hope to return.
Cornwall is great for vegans.
Thank you Vanessa
Love Milly Andrew and Nigel the greyhound xx

Visited for a 4 night stay as part of my other half’s birthday celebrations. Lovely late Victorian/early Edwardian villa with nice big rooms and views down to the sea over Trebarwith Strand. Surrounded by lovely walks towards and along the coast and well placed for the beach and Tintagel.
Vanessa is a wonderful host, ably assisted by Simon and various furry friends of whom Pickle and Tippy provided feline company day and night. Fabulous breakfasts and super evening meals cooked to order and served in a lovely dining room. Vanessa is great fun and happy to chat about her home, food and furry friends and Simon joins in when not busy with his business. A calm, relaxing, friendly, comfortable and fun vegan guest house in a lovely quiet little village but with easy access to the local sights and sites.
Thanks for a lovely stay and big hugs to Pickle and Tippy and the other furry friends.

Small, family run vegan b+b. Comfortable rooms, lovely spread and highly recommend the evening meal option.
10 minutes walk from coastal route, a couple of local pubs.
Also good for exploring north cornwall and Bodmin moor.
Quiet location. Dog friendly.

This is an absolutely fabulous place for vegans to come and stay. And if you have vegan friends or family who are open-minded they would absolutely love it too. The rooms are comfortable and definitely a home from home with all the amenities you would want. It was lovely having a bath in my room and a beautiful view. There is tea and coffee making facilities with soya milk and also the fridge you can use to store your own stuff, in the porch.

The breakfast and evening meals are divine. My highlights would be the freshly baked bread at breakfast, The crispy potato rosti that comes with the full English, and the heavenly sticky toffee pudding.

The added bonus of cuter than cute dogs and cats -particularly Pickles who tinkles outside your bedroom with her collar!! Being a cat lover this was heaven! And Sheba who loved spending time with the guests at breakfast. Have a look on their Facebook page and you will see these lovely animals and of course the delicious food!

Vanessa and Michael were very welcoming and kind and the perfect hosts. It's a lovely area and perfect for exploring other parts of Cornwall. I will be sorry to leave tomorrow and would recommend this wholeheartedly.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review of your enjoyable holiday. I hope Pickle does not disturb anyone with her tinkling bell, we try to ensure she is not lurking outside guest rooms at night, but, sometimes the best plans do not work as they were intended...

Why the wow factor? .
Wow 1 - the aroma of our evening meal cooking when we arrived.
Wow 2. - the view from our room (room 2) over the valley towards Trebarwith Strand and out to sea.
Wow 3 - the food - from the first mouthful of mushroom, walnut and puy lentil pate on our first night to the last speck of chocolate pot on our last night we enjoyed every morsel.
Wow 4 - the loaf of freshly baked bread each morning.
Wow 5 - breakfast - home made muesli, the "Full Michael" and a selection of interesting preserves.
What can we say that hasn't already been said? - you can get a mobile phone signal! We had only just arrived when our Vodaphone started ringing.
We have passed Michael House a number of times over the years when going to Tintagel so we thought we would book a short break for ourselves and dogs to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We must echo the experiences of other reviewers. We received a warm welcome from Vanessa and Simon. Our room was very spacious with a massive bathroom. We were offered dog towels if we needed them - luckily we didn't. Vanessa's cooking is fantastic, we would recommend anyone staying B & B to try an evening meal. She is so passionate about her cooking and readily shared recipes. We stocked up with lemon and ginger marmalade, from the local farm shop, on our way home.
There is one thing that is average about Michael House - the cost. This makes it excellent value for money,
Vanessa and Simon - thank you for making our anniversary so memorable.

A beautiful setting in the village of Treknow near Tintagel , on the Cornish coast . It is run by
a couple Vanessa and Simon , who make their guests feel very welcome , Vanessa is an
excellent cook , providing a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes , for both breakfast and evening meals . Vanessa and Simon , know the area very well , and will provide lifts to
places of interest , free if they are short and for a small fee for longer ones . Miranda and I
really enjoyed our stay , appreciating all the facilities , a very nice room , with a wonderful
view , an en suite bathroom . we could watch TV if we wished, in the common room for guests .Mealtimes are flexible to suit . The atmosphere is friendly and informal , but the Guest house
is run with a quiet non intruding efficiency , there is a lot more I could say on the positive side ;
in short , highly recommended . We will return . Patrick
