Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

John is a very welcoming and accomodating host with much local knowledge. We loved our bright spacious ensuite space with open views to the sea and close to the coastal footpath (with its stunning coast line), Tintagel Castle as well as local eateries and shops. Our room was extremely quiet and our bed was very comfortable. The communal areas include a cosy library full of character and a breakfast room which is also full of lovely artefactsand has a lovely cottage feel. Starting the day with John's very full English breakfast certainly set us up for all the walking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to retrurn.

We stayed at Lewis’s B&B for 4 nights and we could not recommend it more. Character-full rooms with everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Cosy atmosphere. We are a family of 5 (including 3 children). John was an incredible host - friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and he cooks the most amazing breakfast! And the coffee is to die for…! We cannot wait to return!

We had a fantastic time at Lewis’s , the rooms are really clean and spacious. Very accommodating for our 4 children. John is a brilliant host and wow what a breakfast he makes! He made us feel very at ease even with our 4 crazy kids running around! We would highly recommend and will definitely be going back. Tintagel is a beautiful place to visit.

From the moment we stepped into the eclectic front room, we knew it was going to be a unique experience. The front room of this ancient and charming building is full of personality, and every surface holds a fascinating piece of the host's travels or history. John could not have been more friendly or accommodating to every request, and each room is stunning it its own way (we were lucky enough to get the full tour!) He even sets lovely breakfast tables with white linen each morning. They do keep a very friendly cat, so beware to allergy sufferers. Overall, every detail was attended to and every expectation was exceeded. I was travelling with my boyfriend, and we agree that it was the perfect weekend. John, we'll be back! Can we have the turret room next time? ;)

my husband and I stayed 6 nights here recently and really enjoyed our stay.Lewis's dates back to 1586 and the passage of time gives main floor of this home an old world feeling of warmth and coziness. Like a very old antique piece of furniture that develops a patina over time Lewis's is like that, and over the centuries it has developed a special beauty and feel. The juxtaposition of the glass topped tables in the designated breakfast area works perfectly, on closer inspection I noticed fresh stems of rosemary in Johns flower arrangements on the tables, that attention to detail is what sets a bed and breakfast above the rest. The bedrooms are spotless as is the whole place and they are light and airy and very comfortable. The breakfasts are piping hot and arrive at your table so fast after ordering your breakfast I couldn't believe it, as he does the breakfasts himself. the location is great in the heart of the village and close to Boscastle and port Isaac and only minutes to cliff walks and exploring the area, so for anyone planning to be in north cornwall this is a great place to stay. Each day John would ask us what our plans were for the day and he always gave us great suggestions of what to do and where to go, one day we went to padstow and took ferry to rock and enjoyed it immensely, thanks to his suggestion. Yes he puts his heart in soul into Lewis's and it shows, Just don't miss the experience of staying here, you'll be glad you did. Lewis's bed and breakfast. "PERFECT IN EVERY WAY"

myself and my husband have just arrived home from yet another wonderful stay at lewis's .
( and are feeling a little bit empty).
we have been holidaying here for 5 years and it always feels like we are leaving friends -john and barley and ruby and the wonderful cornish cat jd.(and nuts if you can find her )
johns breakfasts are just what you need after an excellent nights sleep in one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on( in the turret room)
this b and b is exceptional value for money and we will continue to return and recomend to anyone.
the building itself is full of olde world charm and spotlessly clean.
non -animal lovers do not have to worry as the dogs and cats are kept out of the way of customers so dont be put off by any reviews regarding them as you will not know they are there (unless you want them to be and then jd is good for a cuddle)
cant wait for the next visit.
see you soon john :-)

We received a warm welcome from the kind owner of this unique Bed and Breakfast. The position of the house is perfect for visiting both the city and King Arthur's Castle.
The rooms were very nice, big and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and included a wide range of food. Amazing athmosphere, would love to go back!

Lewis's Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place for a weekend (or more) away in Tintagel. It's so conveniently close to Tintagel Castle and Merlin's Cave and boasts stunning views of the Cornish Seaside. Mr Lewis is the kindest and most welcoming host one could hope for and his rooms are clean, comfortable and stylish - and the breakfast is ample and superb. His knowledge of the local area and areas surrounding Tintagel make for a perfect get away to this beautiful part of England.

Me and my mom were travelling in Tintagel and did not book a place in advance. By chance, we asked about rooms and were so happy that we chose this place. We stayed at Lewis`s B&B. just for one night but were really charmed by this wonderful place. The cottage is full of character and it was really quite, so quite we thought we were the only guests in the house. To our surprise in the morning, the breakfast table was completely full with other guests. Btw, the breakfast was big and delicious. And I must say that the host was absolutely wonderful, very interesting to talk to and he gave us great tips on the area. We are definitely will be coming back!!!
