Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well what can we say? Fantastic break away at East Dyke Farmhouse with an exceptional welcome from Helen and Hector. Our room was so clean, spacious and a bed to die for. The choice for breakfast was superb and our breakfasts were outstanding! The perfect place for visiting the area, we cannot wait to return. A thoroughly relaxing stay.

Perfectly located b&b on a working farm.amazing sea views. Nicely decorated with an eye for detail, spacious rooms, very clean, with nice luxury bed linnen and towels. Helen is an easy going, very friendly and helpful hostess who provided us with the best breakfast we had in England. There are some nice eateries nearby (car) and lots of nice places to visit: clovelly, appledore, hartland quay. Best place we stayed so far!

Super b&b. Great breakfast, comfortable bed, real attention to detail and really well placed to visit Clovelly. Really struggle to think of anything that could be any better. Simply a great experience as well as fantastic value for money. The positive reviews from others are all correct.

Our host Helen provided a very warm welcome and she couldn’t have been more helpful throughout our stay. We loved that we could tailor make our breakfast orders and have exactly what we wanted. The room was spotless and well presented. The farm is very conveniently located near Clovelly.

My husband booked this place on a weekend for my birthday. It was the family room #2. I don’t know how to begin but literally everything was EXCELLENT! The owners Helen & Steve & their dog made us not only feel welcomed but also made us feel so very special, warm & cosy. They had a bottle of wine & a birthday card waiting for me. The room was exceptionally clean & comfortable, we had a sea view. Plenty of delicious options for breakfast, the food was so delicious, cooked with love by Helen and very generous portions! She always made sure we are happy with everything. There’s plenty of teas, coffees, biscuits, hot chocolates, horlicks in the room, coffee machine, magazines, hair dryer and you can request an iron and microwave if you like. There’s plenty of toiletries too. Fresh flowers everywhere which i loved. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge with a big fireplace, tv with netflix and plenty of books! Helen asked us first if we don’t mind dogs and we absolutely love Hector! The wifi was very good which was a bonus. The place is a farmhouse, the furnitures were rustic, which is up to our taste. Lovely, cosy home. Plenty of free parking spaces. It’s very near to Clovelly Village. I’m sure there are more lovely, positive things to mention about this place but i’m writing this on our way home. I highly recommend this place visiting the area. Would definitely go back! I rarely leave a review but I had to with this one because we stayed in so many hotels & B&B’s from big cities, small towns & villages but so far this is our top favourite. It just felt so right & special for us. Thank you so much Helen, Steve & Hector!

We had a wonderful week staying in this exceptional B+B. Helen was the perfect host (helped by Hector superbly!) and she couldn't do more to make us feel at home. The breakfast spread is an absolute delight and ensures you are properly fuelled for the numerous beautiful walks in the area. Overall, the best we've ever stayed in and one not to miss if looking to stay in the area.

It was a pleasure to stay at East Dyke. Helen is the perfect host. The house is stunning and perfectly clean. There is a wealth of choice for breakfast and the hot breakfast is perfectly cooked. Our room (2) was large with a huge ensuite with bath. Hector the Labrador is very friendly as were some of the chickens who enjoyed a chat. Yes this is a working farm. The farmhouse is well-situated for Clovelly village as well as excursions along the North Devon and North Cornwall coast.

We recently spent a week in this gorgeous B&B, staying in room 3 which was enormous. Fantastic views over fields to the sea, the most comfortable bed you could ask for & a wardrobe that looked like we could have ended up in Narnia if we went inside :-) Helen was incredible. Nothing was an issue & breakfast each morning set us up for the day....massive choice to suit even the fussiest of eaters, plus she was a mine of information & we enjoyed some really good chats. We didn't see a lot of Steve as he was busy on the farm but we did have regular fuss from Hector, the lovely black lab, who met us every morning to come & keep us company at breakfast :-) In short, you would be very hard pressed to find somewhere as out of this world as East Dyke. Thanks Helen, Steve & Hector for a fantastic week x

From the warm welcome by Helen (and Hector the lab) to the luxurious room with every facility available and the delightful breakfasts, we couldn't fault this BnB in any way. The room was fantastic - large and luxurious, with a large bathroom inc bath and shower (and a view of the sea), TV, fridge and real milk, proper coffee machine, fluffy white towels and home made cakes to greet us. Breakfast was a real treat - continental then cooked to order. The fruit selection was lovely and everything was on the large size! Full English on one day, salmon and scrambled eggs, a fluffy omelette on another - all delicious. Plenty of parking, under cover and lots of information if wanted of where to go. On top of all this Helen made sure we were covid safe in every way. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a four night stay with my husband and our dog. Helen is a superb host: the room was very large with a huge, comfy bed and a view of the sea. Lots of extras are included such as towelling robes, a fridge, nespresso machine, fresh milk, toiletries and fresh flowers all of which help to make the stay feel special. Breakfasts are amazing with so much choice and beautifully cooked. I cannot recommend East Dyke Farmhouse highly enough!
