Great location in Clovelly especially if you're walking the South West Coast Path. Nice to have a proper bar attached to the hotel where we had good pub food. Breakfast was very good with locally sourced ingredients. Really appreciated that they offer a packed lunch. Nice friendly reception staff.
Thank you for the warm welcome the staff are so friendly the room was great Now the bad bit the food was almost inedible stale and far from fresh i do not know what they are doing in the kitchen but the food is not being cooked and prepared by a proper chef it is such a shame
The New Inn is steeped in history ... it's got character and has retained a quaint "olde worlde" charm. Every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful and my wife and I can certainly recommend the "full English" breakfasts. There aren't that many places today where you find really good fried bread on your plate ... along with all the other "usual suspects". Our room was comfortable with an outside balcony accessed through a half size window ... romantic in many ways. The decor was a little dated but, to us, that was part of the charm. I'm sure that we will be returning.
Clovelly is like stepping into another world and all the better for it. I think you will either buy into overall, get basic approach or you won't. We loved it!. The room we had at the New Inn was dated but lovely with plenty of room and a large en suite bathroom. Whilst I doubt it had been decorated since the late 1970's that did not matter as it was clean and very good value. There is a hotel lounge and breakfast and a public bar below. The staff were all very good and overall we had a very nice short visit.
Stayed here for 2 nights and was very happy. I thought the hotel had a lovely, cosy, olde world feel about it. My double room was very comfortable with a great view of the sea and a really nice window seat which was a nice touch. En suite facilities very good too. Breakfast was great as was food in the evening and the staff were very friendly. (A special thanks to Andy for being the perfect host)
