My husband is disabled and we were told that the hotel was in the centre of town. Found out very quickly it was a bit of a walk to find anything. Had to eat in the hotel as all other establishments had to be pre booked. Breakfast was a shambles at £11 per head- it was a bag delivered to the door (or sometimes we had to chase it up) with a small orange drink, overnight oats, a lovely pot of fruit a croissant and the option for a sausage bap if you went to collect it from the bar. As they were serving evening meals not sure why a cooked breakfast could not be made available. The staff were lovely and tried their best under the circumstances. New towels were left outside the rooms but old ones were not collected or room cleaned- understand why but would have been nice to have been left cleaning products to clean bathroom with.

We stayed here on our way down to St Ives, we parked in the NCP over the road but for £11 that's not too bad. We were greeted by good social distancing and sanitisation points, freindly staff and a litttle conveniece stall selling drinks, toothbrushes, all the things you forget to pack. It is situated around a 5 min walk to the centre, which was very very quiet whn we stayed. Spotless rooms, friendy staff and comfy beds!

Hotel situated the other end of town. Possible to walk to but I’d avoid in the rain. About a 30min walk from Exeter central. Cinema opposite the building.

Checked in early which was a positive and great Ben a room on the ground floor. Ample size room with ironing board, safe, hair dryer. Television and bath with two double beds. The bathroom needed a little attention with hairs being left on the hand towel, in the bath and in the sink.

Food pricey but nice. Room service £6 which I still had to pay despite needing to walk to reception to order due to the phone not working.

Got woken up by someone trying to get in my room at 2am. Then woken up further by staff getting the dining area ready which was the other side of the room. Not only could you hear the clambering of tables and chairs you could hear carts being ushered around rooms. Don’t expect a lie in!

Check out process quick. Staff friendly

Centrally located with easy access to secure parking directly opposite the hotel (reduced rates available via reception £11-12 down to £9, excellent for a city hotel). Thanks to Kayleigh on reception for resolving our issues.
The hotel has been fully refurbished and the lobby and bar/restaurant look great. It’s worth noting that currently the bar is only open until 10pm to hotel residents. We assumed this was due to the current covid restrictions. That said the staff in the bar are really friendly and go over and above to ensure guests enjoy their stay.

We stayed in a double room, and both commented on how comfortable the bed was, totally dreamy. The room is well planned with plenty of mirrors and electrical sockets including USB ports.

The bathroom lighting wasn’t the best, the bath and fixed overhead shower, have not included in the refurbishment. The shower pressure was very poor even though we were only in a first floor room.

This hotel is well located within walking distance of the main town shops and restaurants. It is clean inside although we found the rooms a little small for three people. The breakfast in a box served due to COVID was not great, ok for one night, but you wouldn't want to be eating it every day.

The main drawback of this hotel is the car parking. The Hotel does not have its own car park. There is a small loading area at the front which was full most of the time I was there and I had to drive up the kerb to unload my cases.

Hotel parking is in an NCP car park on the other side of the road. This is offered at a discounted rate of nine pounds per day. The catch is that this charge is payable every time you enter or leave. If you leave your car in the car park all of the time this is fine. If you intend to go out come back and then maybe go out for dinner again, you will have to pay the fee multiple times.

This gets very expensive very quickly. The car park itself is very tight to manoeuvre and park in. I drive a Range Rover Evoque and had trouble getting in the entrance and the spaces were smaller than my vehicle.

There is a council car park at the rear of the property which is free between 1800 - 0800 but you have to run down and place a ticket on your car every morning. The Hotel was not flexible about the parking and I left and moved to another hotel,

in short, if you don't have a car, want to be close to the town and there are only 2 or less per room this hotel is ok, just don't pay for breakfast.
If you have a car you wish to use on a frequent basis, forget it and go somewhere with proper parking arrangements.

It is difficult to review during lockdown and covid restrictions so you are not going to get the best service or hospitality but here goes. If you are arriving by train to St David's it is about an half hour walk but not an unpleasant walk. Hotel staff very friendly, check in check out was quick and easy. Room was very nice, clean, lovely comfy bed, nice pillows, nice shower. I agree with a previous review air conditioning is confusing, we couldn't change the temperature so the room was on the rather warm side. Breakfast was delivered to the room, continental in a bag, I guess breakfast was my biggest issue, I think the hotel could be more imaginative or get some process in place in the dining room, breakfast wasn't a good experience I'm afraid. Also coffee is available in the dining area but you have to pay for it, during breakfast times I think this should be free to guests. In summary nice room but breakfast is a let down.

You should be aware that it is the policy of this hotel that your room is not serviced if you stay more than one night ie they don't service your room at all unless you are leaving. They are still using the Covid excuse. One or two nights without a bed being made, or clean towels or refilling the tea/coffee tray, or emptying the waste bin is probably acceptable. We stayed 4 nights in an Executive room in May 2022, and it was not acceptable. At least when you book self catering, you are given something to wipe the sink out with and a toilet brush. We had nothing. We won't be using Jury's Inn again until this policy changes.

Response from James Hofstetter, Guest Services / Front Office at Leonardo Hotel Exeter
Responded 26 May 2022
Good Evening Lizzie085 Thank you very much for staying with us and for leaving a review. We hope you enjoyed Exeter I am, however, very sorry that your room was not cleaned throughout your stay. We are committed towards constantly reducing our environmental impact and daily housekeeping uses a significant amount of energy, chemicals & water, which isn’t in keeping with this commitment. In addition to this, we recognise that our guests may be uncomfortable with members of our housekeeping team entering rooms during their stay. We currently will service your room upon request, and are happy to complete things such as rubbish changes or towel changes upon request                       James Hofstetter Front Office Manager

My wife and I just had a two night break here whilst visiting Exeter. The room was clean, smart and comfortable although a touch on the small side. The only real downside was the shower, the head was loose and sprayed water everywhere and the soap dispenser fell off the wall narrowly missing my foot!

Parking is off site but plentiful, we used the triangle car park to the rear of the hotel which was £11 for 24 hours and seemed popular with guests.

Social distancing was being maintained throughout the hotel and check in was quick and efficient, with friendly staff.

We ate in the restaurant one night and this is the only area that I can draw fault. Obviously due to the current social distancing rules the menu was limited and to be honest the food was obviously re-heated, this was where it was let down slightly. My wife and I both had a curry which was tasty enough, but hers was properly heated, whereas mine was still only lukewarm in areas. The desert was also a let down, I had sticky toffee pudding that had obviously been heated for far too long, the centre was red hot and the toffee had crystallized and turned to charcoal! I must however state that the young lady running the bar and restaurant was an absolute credit to the hotel, she never stopped whilst we were there and was chatty, friendly and very polite.

We would stay in this hotel again but probably wouldn't eat here in the current socially distanced climate.

I've been here probably 4-5x with my partner, sometimes with a bathtub, others with a shower in the room. We wait to see what we're surprised with 😊

The beds have the comfiest mattress topper I've ever experienced and the lighting is very romantic or low in each room. For some this may be an issue and is sometimes for me when trying to do my make up in the evening, it's kind of a catch 22! Haha

The shampoo and provided is a mix in one with conditioner, it's not the greatest so I bring my own usually as the one provided makes me hair feel dry, but the hair dryer and towels with the room are very decent!

The breakfasts are brilliant! They have a mixture of fresh fruit, fresh juice and coffee, toasts, bagels, gluten free and dairy free, continental, fry up, cereals buffet for £14 each.

The wi-fi provided is also very decent for the amount of people that are using it. Staff are all also very polite, friendly and professional.

I've always had a wonderful time with my partner, we've only been together a short time, but within our new relationship some of my favourite experiences have been within this hotel and that is due to the comfort, my relaxation and cosiness that this place has been able to provide for us too.

The only thing I would suggest for those using the card keys is do not put the card key in your phone case or near your phone as this can disrupt the key working! The staff happily amend this whenever this occurs though.

Jury's is in a prime location for the city centre and we had a reasonable price one night stay on route to Cornwall. Normal high standards clean and comfortable with good breakfast pleasant staff. Parking is free behind the hotel overnight but at 8am I think you have to pay which nearly caught us out.

No, there’s a car park opposite though and they give a small discount for overnight parking there (the hotel do). It does get full quickly though.
Hi Louise, The TV's are not smart TV's. You are able to plug a Fire Stick/Roku Stick/Apple TV etc... into the TV and connect to the WIFI and you will be able to watch your own stuff that way. If you bring a HDMI cable you can plug that in too James Front Office Manager
