A small but beautifully appointed oasis in Exeter, made a special wedding even more special, by hosting the reception. On a cold, dark evening, the tasteful mood-lighting set the tone of a very enjoyable event. The food was marvellous and service friendly, immediate and attentive, anticipating top ups and any extras we asked for.

The room used for the party was dirty, when we complained a cleaner with huge attitude came after saying she'd cleaned the room 5 minutes earlier (clearly the vacuum cleaner had been on blow!). A few minutes later she left the same dirty room. The carpets are stained and filthy and woodwork looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the... More

Stayed on a Saturday night and realling enjoyed the hotel and location. The lady on reception (apologies I didn't note the name) was lovely, very friendly and helpful with advice when checking in and out and at breakfast. Hotel itself has plenty of character and charming features and it's central location with it's own car park is a real advantage.... More

Female staff member working very rude, called one of the guests a wan*er. The party had a live band which the organiser was aware of. The same staff member then complained about the noise level. Certainly had comedy factor! Lovely venue, shame about one member of the staff.

Lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Exeter, everything you would want, beautiful rooms and a great choice for breakfast. Our room overlooked the car park/court yard which was also the back of a Tapas bar. We stopped just 1 night as we met friends in Exeter but would definitely stay again.

We stayed in a room at the front of hotel which over looks a car park, very noisy early hours of the morning. Would recommend asking for a room at the back. If you're looking for a hotel that takes dogs in Exeter this is ideal.

On arrival I saw a beautiful hotel with a lovely court yard. I arrived at 2230hrs which wasnt a problem for the staff. My room wasnt bad. It had a fairly large bathroom compared to the bedroom size however all facilities you would expect. The best bit was the shortbread biscuits in the tin which I gladly enjoyed with a... More

I stayed in room 16, which is at the front of the building on the main road. Negatives: (1) very noisy! Caused by a combination of road noise (the hotel is situated on the city's one way system), seagulls (that kick off around 4am) and drunk people leaving the nightclub a few doors down. I stayed for two nights and... More

We stayed for one night, it is situated in the center so easy walk to the Cathedral and Quay and shops. Breakfast was lovely there is a good selection, we went for the West country breakfast of bacon eggs and beans with toast. We drank in the local pubs nearby, Rosie's in particular. The only thing missing was a hairdryer.... More

Positives: Great location in terms of the town center, restaurants and the Cathedral, which is indeed magnificent. If you are driving a car, St. Olaves also has off street parking in its courtyard. If you are coming in on the train, it is a 5-10 minute walk from the central rail station, but a 25 minutes UPHILL walk from the... More
