This is our 29th visit to this wonderful place. I was brought here by my parents 29 years ago and now I visit with my children every October. The accommodation is fantastic. We normally stay in the main house (we've used the Park Wing and the Garden Wing) however for the last couple of years we've been in the Cottage... More

We love having you all at Fursdon! It is rather humbling that you all want to come back with your little ones. Keep coming.....doing the walks, having quality family time and drinking lots of red wine by the log fire in the evenings! Next year the big 30th year? More

We stayed at the cottage on the estate with our 3 month old baby and our dog. We had a fantastic time. The cottage is fabulously equipped with everything we needed (washing machine and tumble drier especially needed with the 3-month old!) for our holiday. The views from the cottage and especially the top of the garden are great. Having... More

This was my second visit to Fursdon House and I still haven't seen everything. Our local art group organised a sketching day so I spent a lovely afternoon wandering around in order to decide upon my subject. I was spoiled for choice! The views are stunning, the gardens beautiful, and it's so lovely simply to sit on a lawn and... More

I would love to see some of the art work that was produced on this day!! It's rewarding for us - the Fursdon family - to know that others can enjoy the peace and quiet here. Don't forget that we offer season tickets for the garden and tearooms- contact us if you live near enough to take advantage of this... More

We stayed in the Garden Room. This accommodation had 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and the most beautiful lounge. The kitchen was as well stocked as it could have been (I kid you not) There was even home made cakes left out for our arrival (many thanks) Our Grandchildren loved looking out the windows and counting the cows in the distance... So glad you enjoyed the cottage and all that it offers. I have read your comments about recycling and we now have some separate containers at the cottage to make the sorting easier. We take recycling seriously so anything to make it easier is good! More

We came for a much needed relaxing weekend with a couple of family members and stayed in the Park Wing. As my title says, it is simply stunning. Historic house (in the same family for over 700 years) with beautiful gardens and amazing views across Devon countryside. Dartmoor can be seen on the horizon. The wild flower meadows are full of orchids (southern marsh orchid), buttercups, ragged robin, etc. and a multitude of species of grasses. The cream teas(and cakes) in the coach house are delicious.

Our special Devon Meadow Day generated lots of interest - it was lovely for us to be able to share our wild flower meadows with other people. We hope to take seed from these fields to scatter elsewhere to extend the wildflowers that are native to our area. Good to hear that you enjoyed some refreshment in the tea room! More

“The Park Wing has the extensive views, an especially comfortable sitting room, but its bathrooms are slightly less good (in terms of water pressure) than The Garden Wing. The Garden Wing only looks over the terraced garden behind the house, though I love this too, and the bath and shower pressure is excellent.”
