Visiting our daughter attending Exeter University and had a wonderful 9 day stay with Richard (and son) and Jane at Raffles Hotel! Great location, super hosts, comfortable room and lively breakfast conversation made our trip to Devon most enjoyable. We used Exeter as a home base for exploring all of Devon. Will return for sure and can't wait to hear...

Richard and his late wife transformed this well-constructed Duplex into marvelous accommodations. Particularly quiet as he had replaced all of the original windows with triple-glazed ones. Prices are very reasonable. Cash only. Delicious breakfast. Wonderfully friendly housekeeper who manner reminds me of Daphne Moon on Frazier. :)

I wish I could review Raffles Hotel but due to a slight misunderstanding on the telephone about shower rooms being called bathrooms, my experience of the host was one of rudeness so I had no option but to cancel the week that I had booked. Pity, as I generally get on rather well with the staff in the many hotels...

Relaxed friendly beautiful place to stay. First time in Exeter and would love to come back again. The house and garden is very majestic and grand in keeping with its age. Breakfast was excellent and lovely view of the garden.

Very comfortable. Raffles offers residents a personal touch of care and time, with the owners going beyond what is required of them. The facilities were great. I only wish I had more time to explore the beautiful garden.

I enjoyed my stay at Raffles Hotel, and thanks to Richard and Jane for making this place so lovely. The breakfast is so good that cannot be missed. The location is near for me to attend Conference at the University of Exeter, and walking to town area is only about 10 mins.

This is a traditional B&B, with lovely old furniture and character, run by a friendly and charming gentleman and his team. Clean room and a nice comfy bed, together with a great cooked breakfast. Good value, we enjoyed our stay and if we come back to Exeter would stay here again.
