My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Shelley’s. We stayed for two nights in two different rooms, both rooms were exceptional, very nice and clean, and both had excellent views of Lynmouth. The full english breakfasts cooked to order were excellent, and set you up for a good long walk in a very beautiful part of the country....

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. Richard and Jane were wonderfully friendly throughout our stay and the hotel tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The room we stayed in was an upstairs room with a bay window, offering a lovely view over Lynmouth and the sea. The hotel only offers bed and breakfast ( the breakfast is...

Another raft race, another stay at Shelleys. This will be our 4th annual stay at Shelleys and as before it has been a pleasure. Hotel is exactly the same, always scrupulously clean and well presented and breakfast is a delight. Richard and Jane are friendly and informative; whether it be somewhere to eat that night or for advice on local...

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Shelley's on our way to Cornwall. What a great place to stay. Our room was lovely with a good view of the sea from the balcony, which is covered, so is was warm and cosy in the evenings. Our breakfasts were delicious, as good as many top hotels we've stayed in. Jane...

Stayed here on business trip for one night. The rooms and ensuite were spacious and exceptionally clean. Excellent advice from Jayne and Richard the proprietor's for our evening meal. Good nights sleep, lovely freshly made breakfast with views of the harbour. Would definitely stay here again, home from home. Tried to book again today, but unfortunately fully booked.

Yet again we had a wonderful stay at Shelly's last week - our third stay. As ever, we enjoyed a fabulous time - bedrooms wonderful, breakfast superb, hosts chatty and friendly. We will be back - but would urge everyone to book early, we didn't and couldn't stay as long as we would have wished.

Great location and a warm welcome from the family owners. Lovely room (the bay room) with great views. Good choice of breakfast. Highly recommended, wish we had booked for a longer stay. If you haven't been here previously then a trip on the water-powered cliff railway up to Lynton is an absolute must.

'We were looking to extend our stay in Devon by an extra night and chose Shelleys mainly due to it's excellent reviews, we couldn't believe how consistently good they were but were pleased to say that it was all true. Fantastic! Shelleys is a hidden gem in an idyllic location. Only constructive comment, is it time to update the old...

Had a really excellent stay at this beautifully refurbished hotel. Lovely room with a view over the bay (room 8), I think room 5 to 9 are all with small conservatory rooms overlooking the sea. Other rooms have sea views I expect but these 4 are special. Breakfast was excellent too. Nothing was the ''cheap alternative', every thing tasty and...

This was our first stay at Shelley’s and we will certainly be back. Room 6 was perfectly located with the conservatory and balcony to watch the world go by. Although hotel doesn't do evening meal, the breakfast certainly set you up for the day, was plentiful and delicious. Would recommend hotel to anyone.'
