We were let down by another local restaurant so, on the recommendation of the owners of our B&B we had an evening meal at The Crown Hotel. The food was delicious (we had their Fish Pie) and the vegetables were particularly well cooked and tasty. It's quite an unprepossessing place, but don't let that put you off.

Old inn with much atmosphere, great hosts, good food and a very comfortable room. The town is very pretty and I would like to have stayed longer in this friendly, warm and nice place. Parking available, helpful directions on the asking. Great stopover hotel.

This hotel is amazing. Fully recommend it to anyone who visits Lynton. There were 2 of us staying and we stayed for two nights. The atmosphere was brilliant the service was out of this world. Nothing was too much trouble for the landlord and landlady. Beautiful home cooked food piping hot. Can't wait to stay again.

Booked this hotel last minute for a long weekend break with friends. Excellent position in the centre of the town to explore the area. From the moment we arrived we could not have been made more welcome. Lee (proprietor) met us and checked us in and carried our luggage to our rooms. Very clean and comfortable rooms with ensuite facilities,...

Visiting North Devon last week, we 'fell upon' this Hotel & ended up staying extra time. It is situated in the centre of the town, so within easy reach of magnificant coastal walks, the cliff railway to Lynmouth, Lynton & Barnstable preserved railway, & Exmoor. Originally an Old Coaching House in the 1760's, it is now under new management. Lee...

5:30pm looking for somewhere to eat - typical pub menu and the specials looked ok. Ordered starters - they were ok. Mains fish & chips - just about average and a seafood lasagne which was the most expensive on the menu at £13 plus consisted of 1 prawn, 1 bite size piece of salmon, 1 small sheet of lasagne and...

Having been told that the hotel had turned guests away the previous evening, we were advised to book a table for an evening meal. We requested a table in the restaurant, only to be told the restaurant was only open on Sunday's. We then reserved a table in the bar, however on arrival at allocated time, someone else was at...
