Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came across this hotel as we left the cliff railway. Looking for lunch we noticed their sign and followed the path down to the hotel. Must say we were surprised and delighted to find such a hidden gem. The lunch was first class, staff friendly and helpful about local sites. We had a variety of their sandwiches and a Greek salad. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and presented. We thoroughly enjoyed lunch! Highly recommend you find this out of the way hotel, you will not regret the extra walk!

Beautiful family-owned boutique bed and breakfast. Gorgeous interiors and great attention to detail in all the rooms. The bed was very comfortable and the living area spacious and great for relaxing after a big day out hiking. The included breakfast was delicious!

Sunday carvery was excellent and good choice of vegetables cooked to perfection, lovely thick gravy to accompany. Our drinks and dessert were served quickly by a very pleasant waitress which were also delicious. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Excellent stay in this charming boutique hotel. The views from this hotel are simply amazing and it is excellently located for Lynton and also the funicular railway to Lynmouth. Breakfast was lovely and perfectly cooked with plenty of selection. The service was excellent and the host was extremely friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend.

Excellent stay and this charming boutique hotel. Warm welcome and general service from Peter who was the loveliest host. The views from this hotel are simply breathtaking. Dinner was great but there are also some good restaurants nearby to try out. Breakfast was lovely and perfectly cooked. Really glad we stayed here!

Excellent hotel in wonderful location. We were in the Lynmouth Bay room which had extensive sea views, the comfiest bed ever and was spacious and beautifully furnished. Breakfast on the terrace was a highlight of our 5 day stay. Peter our host was excellent and certainly deserves high praise for the hotels success.

We had a perfect short break. The hotel is beautiful in an excellent location with sea views and is close the all the amenities of Lynton and Lynmouth. A truly dog friendly hotel, beautifully furnished with an Italian villa style. We chose a suite which was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished with amazing sea views. The breakfast on the terrace every morning was excellent. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again very soon.

A fabulous stay! The location and the views make this an incredible place to stay in Lynton. Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful about everything, even when on their evening ‘off’. The hotel offers dinner most nights except Sundays and Mondays and we wished we’d have stayed in for this as options in Lynton weren’t great.
