Very friendly staff. In hotel and restaurant. Breakfast was great. Difficult to get a disabled parking bay. Room and bed very comfortable, would love sky TV. All good for the price. would definitely stay again.

We have been using premier inns for ages now and because of Covid 19 our ferry was changed and to prevent travel worries on the day stayed overnight here before we sailed.

The rooms were pretty standard thankfully we were not the side of the adjacent main road as I suspect that noise could disturb your sleep. Our room was extremely warm and with a window open it was just bearable on a not to warm day. Even simple roof vents with quiet extractors would help heat escape as A/C fitting is unlikely.

Covid 19 security measures were plain and simple and except for anti mask nutters easy to adhere to. The adjacent restaurant was closed but staff advised us of takeaway options and apart from the hassle of trying just eat we found a local Chinese we used easily and delivering promptly.

Likely to be a regular occurrence we would probably stay here again as much cheaper than city centre location when we booked and easier parking too. WiFi was free but slow. Staff were v helpful. Easy to find and access to local supermarket and retail shops / fuel etc adjacent also help for last
Minute needs etc.

All the usual good things about Premier Inn, however, I had a small issue. My face powder spilt on the carpet in my room, I was mortified, asked for a hoover but Charlotte told me not to worry, go out and enjoy the party we were visiting for. When we got back you would never have known there had been a mess! The other young lady who had been on in the afternoon very kindly ran across to the restaurant and brought me fruit tea bags directly to the room, we did not have to go and collect them from Reception. I think that they both went over and above and are a real credit to the hotel.

We have been using Premier Inn for years, whenever we are away for a long weekend, or need to be somewhere overnight, they have always been our go to hotel. However, we had to be in Plymouth for a couple of days, and stopped at Premier Inn Plymouth East on the nights of the 27th and 28th October. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. We were leaving our room on the morning of the 28th and passed three of the housekeeping team in the corridor, and not one of the was wearing a mask.
I appreciate that it is not pleasant to have to wear masks when you have to clean rooms and make beds, however, in the current climate , wear masks is imperative for the safety and well-being of everybody.
And then, to cap it all off. When we went to reception to check out on the morning of the 29th, we went to reception only to find the receptionist in the lobby, with not a mask in sight.
This would mean that any off the rooms cleaned and made ready, could not be deemed as safe, and makes a complete mockery of all the promises that they make about the safety of visitors. If you are elderly, vulnerable, or just care about the wellbeing of others, then look for somewhere else to stay, because safe, this hotel isn’t.
I did make a complaint to the receptionist, but unless we receive an apology, and most of all that reassurances are given that the safety of others will not be flagrantly disregarded, then we will not be staying at one of their hotels again.
Absolutely zero marks.

Hello there, thanks for taking the time to share your review. Whilst we're happy to hear you stayed with us, we're sorry some of the team member's weren't wearing masks during your stay last month. We can imagine this left you feeling concerned and this certainly isn't how we want our guest's to feel. We're also sorry if the team weren't very helpful when you discussed this with them. Just so you know, we've now made a record of your comment's and have passed them to the hotel management team to see what improvement's can be made going forward. We wouldn't want standard's like these to continue so this will be raised with the team to ensure any necessary retraining is arranged and the best service is being provided. We hope this doesn't make you think twice about returning so please have confidence this isn't our usual standard and your comment's will be picked up. Thanks again for getting in touch and we hope to see you again soon. Ricky

Booked in to Plymouth East due to not being able to book my regular Premier Inn at Cambourne. Ended up being booked in to a disabled access room with no bath and very dated wet room. Wet room could do with being updated as disability aids worn, dirty and rusty in places.
Ultimate WIFI would only work if I stood next to my door and not at the work desk area the other side of my room.
Bed was so low to the ground and very soft. The mattress was of a poor condition, what I would call grubby.
As a regular user of Premier Inns I was disappointed that I was not advised of the type of room that was available. I have no issue with using a disabled access room if it had a bath and the disability aids were not rusty and clean.
As a regular user of Premier Inns I will put this down to a one off poor experience. Going forwards I hope that if Premier Inn advise customers of there room types prior to booking them in.

Really friendly and helpful receptionist on check in. Room nice and clean. Room was a cool and comfortable temperature, so we didn't need to have the window open, which was fortunate as the road noise would have been excessive. However, I was way too hot to sleep due to the heat generated from the padded mattress topper. I don't think this is just this Premier Inn, I've suffered with it before at previous Premier Inn locations. Maybe the answer is to strip the bed as soon as we arrive, will soon find out

If you are unfortunate enough to have booked this hotel ensure you ask for a room which isn’t on the motorway side or even better cancel before you arrive

I’ve stayed in a lot of premier inns and this is one of the worst

Very very hot room(in September!)with now AC,WiFi doesn’t work and incredibly noisy room as directly on motorway. Options were to close windows and boil to death or open window and feel like you’re sleeping on the M25

Wouldn’t recommend at all unfortunately and wouldn’t stay again even if it was free room and food. What a complete waste of money and not the usual premier inn standard at all....felt robbed!

The food in the Beefeater next store is pretty awful too....an expensive version of a really bad Weatherspoon’s

Avoid at all costs

Due to a water leak at our own home, we were housed in a room here for a much extended period than was originally expected. (Over 3 weeks)
The reception team were fabulous and we can’t thank them enough for making our stay as pleasant as possible. They made sure we didn’t have to change rooms given we had several late extension periods added, which was particularly important given the current situation. We simply had to let them know when we needed fresh towels or change of bedding etc. and nothing was too much trouble.
Yes, it’s a tired building but the staff are all helpful, friendly and professional. Thanks in particular to Ela, Stacey, Tasha & Adrienne.

Booked 2 nights with breakfast to visit friends.
Plenty of free parking spaces available on arrival at just before 4pm. Welcoming was warm and friendly.
We had a room that overlooked the adjoining Beefeater. The room was clean and comfortable but we found it to hot overnight with the only cooling done by a standard fan. With the window open in the early hours we were woken by reving cars, bikes and morning traffic from the nearby main road junction and with the heat closing the window wasn't an option. Which meant we had 2 sweaty restless nights. The bed itself was very comfortable. In the bathroom the shower was adequate but low on pressure. Due to covid we had to prebooked a table time for breakfast which was fine but still had to queue outside on the first morning, luckily the weather was good or we could have been standing in the rain to ensure social distancing. Breakfast was of the standard fare brought to your table instead of the usual self service buffet and was well cooked with no complaints. On the second evening sat in the Beefeater garden we had to go inside to chase up the bar staff to be served with drinks as it was meant to be table service only.
All in all given the state of service/staffing levels due to Covid I would use this Premier Inn again but insist on a room not facing the road.

This was the first Premier Inn I stayed in since Covid that felt fully “back to normal”: the rooms were serviced each day and there was a hot breakfast buffet style, with an excellent coffee machine rather than a pot of coffee.

Watch out for a slightly confusing entrance (off ramp after the A374 turnoff on the roundabout). There is a lot of general background car noise in the hotel site from two very busy roads. The rooms run warm, so it is a choice of having the window open and the background car noise; or the window closed which makes the room very quiet, but then warm if not hot. Outstanding water pressure/hot water. Sainsbury’s is over the road and there is a footbridge if you want to walk. Very pleasant PI team members. 10 mins drive to Plymouth Hoe

Hi 628sarahm Thanks for your query. Unfortunately this hotel doesn't have air-con, so the Housekeeping teams implement specific measures to minimise discomfort to our guests during warmer days which include; ensuring windows are left open (where possible) and closing curtains. You can also request fans and thinner sheets from reception. Alternatively, if you wish to look for a hotel that does have air-conditioning, keep a look out for the 'snowflake' icon on the hotel details page when searching via our website which means air con is installed. Hope this helps. Regards Amy Thacker Premier Inn Team
