Detailed Reviews
Good hotel that ticks all the boxes; comfortable, clean with a good restaurant. The restaurant was understaffed on the evening that we stayed and the staff battled on valiantly, but there was an unavoidable consequence with the food taking a long time to arrive. No complaints about the quality though, our meal was very nice indeed.
It would be nice to see some eco initiatives in the bedrooms: refillable soap dispensers rather than the single use plastic sachets on offer.
But overall would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Dear Paradise00585002333 Good evening, many thanks for your constructive and fair feedback on your recent stay. It's great to see, that in general you enjoyed your stay with us. Although I do not know exactly what day you stayed e have had a couple of days recently where unexpected last minute staff sickness has applied some pressures to the restaurant and kitchen teams. Whilst we always endeavour to cover sick staff there have been a couple of occasions where it has occurred mid shift and not been possible. Whilst this is not an excuse for providing a lower level of service it is pleasing to see that the team worked through it and you still had an enjoyable meal. Your comments around the eco initiatives have been noted as this is something that we are currently looking at as company. It's great to see that you would definitely stay again and the team look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Kind regards Graham

This is a lovely hotel, easy to access with lots of parking. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The majority of the staff are lovely. Sadly it is let down by the Restaurant. When we arrived we booked a table and duly presented ourselves at the given time. There were too few staff who just couldn’t cope with the demand. When we spoke the lovely young manager about it he apologised and told us everyone was busy setting up for a wedding the following day. We waited 45 minutes for our one course meal, the couple next to us had been waiting over an hour and hadn’t even had their starter. It turns out they had been forgotten. When it came the food was delicious. When we left we double checked with the manager as to whether or not our breakfast was included, he confirmed on the computer that it was. The following morning we were told it wasn’t but after a further check by staff we were told it was. Just as well as I would not have paid for it! The bacon was cold and like cardboard the eggs like rubber and everything else lukewarm. On Sunday we went down for breakfast to be told the same thing. We explained about the previous day and then went to get out breakfasts. We had just started eating when a rather scruffy chap came and stood by us and introduced himself as Rob, he said he was the duty manager and that our booking was room only so we would have to pay for our breakfast, I pointed out that it was not worth the money and had we know we would have to pay we would not have had it. I explained that I felt the staff were totally lacking in customer service and explained about the previous evening, he then said our breakfast must have been complimentary due to those issues. Again, this had not been explained to us. Rob also constantly talked over me when I was trying to talk to him. I pointed out his customer service skills also required some fine tuning but he just arrogantly replied he would pass my comments on to the General Manager. When I asked to speak to him I was told sarcastically that they were allowed time off and he would be back the following day.It is such a shame that the running of the hotel was left in this chaps hands. Our situation was so easy to resolve had he chosen to do so. Instead he was pompous and arrogant, digging his heels in and exercising his authority. Very sad. On the other hand I’d love to point out how lovely Bhanuja was, she couldn’t have been nicer. It won’t stop us staying here again but it has rather spoilt our experience.

Dear Vanda S Good morning, many thanks for your constructive feedback relating to your recent stay at the hotel. It is disappointing to see that whilst you generally enjoyed your stay and would visit us again, your stay on this occasion clearly did not meet your expectations and for this I apologise. I've recently taken over the hotel as General Manager and there are some areas of the business that require some minor changes. One of these areas is the Restaurant and we have recently appointed a new Food & Beverage Manager and a new Head Chef in order that we can start effecting some really positive change in this area of the business. Your feedback regarding our two team members has been noted and I will personally ensure that your feedback is shared with both of them in an appropriate manner. Please rest assured that the next time you stay with us you will get to experience the positive change that is coming for our Restaurant area. Kind regards Graham General Manager

I picked this hotel at short notice and was very pleased to find a comfortable room, with a good bathroom, comfortable bed but best of all I could hear virtually no other sounds from the guests rooms next door, above or below, which helped me have a great nights' sleep. Staff were very polite and helpful. Excellent location for my visit and easy access to the city centre. I would certainly use again if/when down in that part of the world ever again..

Dear sgrego423602 Many thanks for your feedback. It's lovely to see that you had a great nights sleep in our rooms. As you rightly point out our hotel is perfectly located for all travellers, being close to the A38, but with the city centre still in easy reach. Your comments regarding the staff being polite and helpful has been noted and will be passed on to the team. When you are back in the area both myself and the team look forward to welcoming your back to the hotel. Kind regards Graham

I am working in Plymouth for a period of 6 months and was trying varying hotels for long term accommodation.
The room was nice and arriving on a Sunday there was plenty of space on the car park.
I got up Monday morning and tried to have a shower but there was no hot water.
On returning in the evening I spoke to reception to book a table in the restaurant and asked about the shower to be told there was no hot water in the hotel and that would be the case until Tuesday afternoon! I was offered an urn to fill the bath!!!
I sat down in the restaurant and had the service from hell, there was complete confusion and duplicate drinks and food was delivered to my table, then a 40 minute wait between starter and main course!!!
I tried the restaurant for the duration of my stay, breakfast was good with a nice selection, evening service until the last night of my stay was poor wand the food quality was poor and even some of it was tasteless.
I was very disappointed but will not be using the Future Inn again.

Dear Tim S Good morning, I would like to take this opportunity that thank you for your constructive and balanced feedback. It is disappointing to see that you felt the service delivered during your stay did not meet your expectations and for this I apologise. Unfortunately during your stay with us we did suffer a significant failure on our boilers, which required parts to be sent out on an overnight courier. The boilers were fully operational by lunchtime the following. Whilst the boilers were fixed as quickly as possible we do acknowledge that it impacted the stay of some guests. Over this period the team communicated with as many guests as possible with information on the situation and also to offer alternative accommodation where requested. With respect to the restaurant in the evening this is an area that is currently being enhanced in the hotel. Having taken over the property three weeks ago as General Manager this is an area that has been highlighted as an opportunity to drive quality and standards that truly wows our guests. This is work that is already well under well, and I'm sure that should you consider staying with us again in the future you will receive a far more enjoyable experience in this area. Kind regards Graham Hole General Manager

After being married on the 15 September me and my wife booked into a suite for 1 night. On first arrival we were impressed with the room and the bottle of cheap carver. So we booked another 2 nights because it was our honeymoon. We didn't receive any toiletries or towels without asking and even coffee and sugar wasn't given. No bedding was given either. That really annoyed me but then looking on the website we should of had everything replaced even the cheap bottle of wine. I was really mad but my new wife insisted I said nothing so my mouth was shut tight. On getting home I realised I had left a wedding present in the room and was mortified. So we called the hotel to see if it was there still and could be posted up north. It was a small item and cost of post was minimal. They retrieved the present but charged us 10 pounds for recorded delivery which was nothing to us. On arrival at our address it was standard post of 3.58 and no signature. Disappointed and ripped off was my feelings. I will never forget and won't ever be using future inns again. We had alread paid 408 pound for our stay. Shocking service and shocking after service 🤨

This was a short break. The hotel is in a good location on the outskirts of Plymouth for accessing the A38 and Dartmoor. It was generally clean and tidy. However the range of services offered was limited, partly understandably because of remaining COVID restrictions. While we accept that, to minimise person to person interaction, any replenishments of in room supplies had to be requested and were left outside the room it was harder to accept that our room was not cleaned and beds left unmade throughout our three night stay. The hotel said that this was due to covid but it was clear that staffing levels were well below what they should have been and that this was the real reason. While the hotel cannot offer a full room service we believe that they should compensate by reducing the daily room charge as guests are clearly not getting what they are paying for.

Everything from arrival to check out was as expected. I was able to check in at 2pm. Room was spacious and clean. I was on 1st floor so I was able to open a window a decent amount to get a breeze. Air con was good. Everything was clean. Shower was great and powerful. Beds were comfy. Free water every day. Soft towels. No annoying bright lights from tv or smoke detector. Plenty of power sockets including 2 by the bed. My list could go on. Only niggle is the pillows were very firm.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful especially housekeeping who noticed we were going for breakfast so she offered to service our room whilst we were away.
The only thing that would give this place the extra wow factor would be a swimming pool.
Another note is some of the function rooms are currently used by the nhs for blood testing. They have their own entrance so didn’t bother me.
Will certainly use again.

Not very often we get to go away and spend time together, so we were excited, shame it was a nightmare from the start.
Check in was simple and the car park was big and easy to park.
After we put our bags in, we decided to pop to the bar for a drink, the man behind the bar was so miserable.
Plug in the bath was stuck so when we used the shower, the water wouldnt drain. Went to reception to ask them to sort it, he said he would take a look and maybe change us rooms if needed.
Went back to our room on Friday evening, nothing had been checked or done about this. Saturday morning we were woken up at 20 past 8 to ask if there was anyone in the room .. when I explained the situation, he said we could move rooms if we wanted.
Saturday evening we decided to go to the restaurant, the food was awful, the bbq ribs were tough, noodles were disgusting and looked like a microwave meal, the food here is stupidly over priced. We paid for our food and asked the lady if we had any other outstanding charges, she told us no.
When we checked out on sunday morning, we were told we had an outstanding charge of £27.50. We told him we got told the night before we were all up to date.
The only nice, friendly member of staff we came across was Deanne.
We didn't even get an apology for being woken up on Saturday morning or for having no help with the shower.
We would strongly recommend that you look elsewhere.

This was the first time that we had stayed in a Future Inn and we would certainly use one again. We had booked a family room and it was clean and spacious. I do wonder why there are 2 double beds in a family room? Most children do not sleep in the same bed together. One double and 2 singles would be better. We noticed some hairs around the sides of the bathroom floor as if a dirty mop had been used. All of the staff were efficient and most of them were friendly too. A few were obviously just going through the motions of their job whereas others went out of their way to be helpful. Our dinner, on the first night, was adequate if not spectacular. My burger was slightly burnt but the chips were really good. Although the buffet breakfast was not operating there was plenty to choose from. Why do I have to pay extra for a hot chocolate though? Housekeeping was only cleaning rooms after peoples stay but you could ask for anything you needed at reception. All in all it was a pleasant stay.

Quality of room and hotel was excellent. Price was great value. Breakfast was expensive but optional and if selected brought the over all price back up to other hotels. For family trips though the expensive food side (particularly breakfast) is not so good or affordable but there are restaurants within walking distance providing breakfast at family affordable prices.
