Lovely comfy rooms(we had a suite). The breakfast kitchen team seemed a bit understaffed, and we're unable to keep up with the replenishment of stock. Location is pretty decent, £13 taxi to the harbour

Hotel was really impressive, they were a bit slow in messaging me back and I had to repeat myself, in the end I phoned them up and sorted out my request. Delay could have been due to communicating via booking.com. Hotel as described, if not better, got a free upgrade to a suite, due to Booking.com Genius level, that was really impressive. Two splendid sized room, bathroom with shower and bath, all really nice, clean and spacious. Check in smooth and efficient, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, good range and fast efficient service. Ate dinner twice in restaurant, really lovely food and good staff. Chose hotel due to location and ease of parking. Felt it was good value for money

We checked in late and the reception staff were welcoming and professional. Room was lovely and spacious, very clean and had good facilities. Parking directly outside and free and next to The Range headquarters (if you like shopping there - an added bonus!). We did not eat the breakfast at the Fishbone as our friends had a disappointing meal. I did try last minute to book an additional room but it was at double the price that we had paid (booked 3 months ago) so had to book elsewhere. I thought we got good value for money for the price we paid for the advance booking but I would not have paid the last minute price that they wanted for it (£112 p/night) as there is lots of cheaper accommodation in the area. But overall very happy with the room and the reception staff were so helpful and polite.

We have stayed at the Future Inn Plymouth several times in the past without problem, however our last stay left a sour taste in our mouth. We booked and paid for a suite, however due to covid-19 restrictions we were forced to move our booking several times as we couldn’t get a refund. It was hit or miss whether we got a email confirming our new dates (even when asking multiple times for the confirmation), however we eventually attended a mid-week stay. At check-in the receptionist explained there is an extra charge as the price for the room has gone up, however at her discretion the charge was waived. She was helpful and sympathetic to our booking situation. We got to our room, to find out it was not a suite as expected, however a twin double room. We went back to reception to query the room type and the same helpful receptionist started to look into our booking and tried to move our room however all of the suits were sold for the night. The receptionist’s supervisor/manager appeared out of the office to assist however she was abrupt, rude, and focussed more on extra charges and the terms and conditions of the booking. She exhibited zero customer service skills. (Note: the extra charges were not mentioned to us when we moved the booking (several times) over the phone, although they didn’t sit well with us, we did not complain or make a fuss about the charges and if required would have paid them for the right room. However the lady was so abrupt, trying to quote terms and conditions, she failed to see the bigger picture and the fact we moved our booking due to a pandemic, not by choice) Due to her attitude we walked away frustrated and without resolute as the hotel did not honour the original booking. Later, we had a reservation at the Fish Bone restaurant and the questionable service continued. It took an hour for the starter to arrive, and then the main took some time afterwards. During the meal we asked for extra drinks and condiments however the waitress forgot and was clearly over worked. There was absolutely no attention to detail. One of the meals (burger) was uneatable and left a lot to be desired for. Where we normally would have gone for dessert and several extra drinks we called it a night and retired back to our room disappointed and slightly amused. The quality of the room is ok, clean and spacious. We did have an issue whereby the tv aerial cable was ripped out of the socket, however that was easily fixed by ourselves. In summary, the hotel used to be a good solid standard, not 5* but on par with a good premiere inn. Pricing used to be fair, with an honest service. This stay has unwound those experiences and now we won’t be rebooking and will look for alternative accommodation when visiting Plymouth. Our advice is to look elsewhere, or if you do make a reservation make sure you don’t need to change anything on the booking or have any form of expectation as they can’t fairly manage situations when it falls outside of the standard procedure. Unfortunately for us, we were forced to change dates and the hotel could only see terms and conditions, not the overall customer experience.
