Just back from a great weekend at the lovely Cary Arms. Inn by the beach, indeed. We were welcomed by a lovely member of staff (didn’t catch her name - very blond hair) who not only checked us in and showed us to our GORGEOUS beach hut, but she also looked after us in the lounge

The Cary Arms has it so, so right! The best to 2019! This undoubtedly has to be one of the best places to stay in Devon, or indeed the UK actually! Ok, so the steep hill down to the inn is a bit scary, but the warm welcome (and the valet service to the car park) makes you

Was planning on visiting the bar at the cash arms and on my approach down the very steep hill to the cash arms met one of their drivers who was rude, arrogant and demanded I reverse round a blind corner up a very steep hill this was enough to put me off my visit

Our stay at the Carey arms was incredible from the minute we arrived, to the minute we left. Everything was perfect, from the staff to the food to the accommodation. The beautiful contemporary beach hut we stayed in was immaculate, warm and cosy and we will most definitely be

A great new find - a lovely restaurant, friendly staff and great food. Really good value for money. Will definitely be making a return visit with friends. You can go for walk afterwards too along the seafront to walk off the food. Fabulous!

From the deck about 30 mins later.
From the deck as the sun started to come up.
Our Beach hut had a small decking area in front of it which would suffice for a breath of fresh air for a very small dog like our visually impaired one-however you can walk dogs through grounds and get to the roads for toilet business but definitely nowhere with a large enclosed garden area except maybe the cottages within the grounds of hotel. Many people used to pass our beach hut with bigger dogs that they had taken down along the jetty area near beach for a longer walk. Some of the dog friendly rooms may be in the main hotel building which only have windows, so it may be worth telephoning and having a chat to the lovely staff.

Does the hotel allow small dogs please?
The hotel is a proper dog friendly hotel! Nothing is too much trouble- our dog was treated like a celebrity hee hee!! They put a bed and abowl with treats in your room - plus they have their own menu in the restaurant. They can eat in the bar with you. The only place they aren't allowed is the conservatory restaurant. We took his blanket and a chee and he sat on the floor beside us. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

is there any car park
Hi John Yes. When you arrive park your car immediately in front of the hotel door and unload any luggage. The receptionist will give you a card for the car which you display in your windscreen. The car park is down a steep ramp its only a couple of hundred yards but you don't want to lug anything up the hill back to the hotel.
