We stayed in the one bed Roma apartment. Beautiful garden views with a pair of perfectly formed mini sea views through the trees.
Quirky tiny shower wc room was adequate and spotless clean. The furnishing matches the rooms Victorian style and is tastefully subtle...So relaxing and felt romantic.
Our hosts made us feel welcome and clearly love their property, taking such care in the small details.

We stayed for a week in the Vomero apartment
The apartment is one of several, located in the charming Vomero victorian villa which is in a quiet secluded lcoation and having a beautiful extensive garden.
The apartment is very nicely furnished and the layout works very well with the separate kitchen and dressing room areas.
The kitchen is well equipped as evidenced by our ability to fully self-cater during our stay (not our intention but a necessity when we observed that the local restaurant precautions regarding COVID seem inadequate)
This particular apartment is the signature apartment of the property and has a generous balcony, indeed more like a large terrace, with views down to the bay.
You could easily spend a day simply on the balcony (but bring better chairs or loungers) and/or in the garden which is great flexibility.
The hosts are available and attentive as and when required. They are also very well prepared and organised regarding procedures for COVID 19.
This includes the provision of hand sanitisers and regular cleaning of common areas.
Overall this is excellent, quality accommodation and we would not hesitate to use again.

Thank you for staying with us at Vomero. We appreciate your kind words and positive review and are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday with us. We have just taken delivery of two more Italian sunloungers which are now sat proudly on Vomero's balcony, sadly due to Covid-19 and coming from Italy they were delayed until after your stay. It is our intention to update all balcony seating and tables to rattan furniture in the near future. We hope you will book and stay with us again if you come back to Torquay and The English Riviera in the future. We look forward to seeing you again. Best wishes, Louise and Sean

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the lovely Vomero Apartments, close to the harbour town of Torquay.
The owners, Louise and Sean, made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.

Vomero is a beautiful Victorian villa which is in immaculate condition and has a lovely large garden, perfect for families with children and adults alike. There is also a gas bbq and a large table, chairs and parasol for further enjoyment of the garden. Vomero also offers ample parking.

We stayed in the Napoli apartment which is on the upper floor and is spotless, bright and airy. It is well furnished with everything you could need for an enjoyable stay, a real home from home. It has 2 en-suite bedrooms, one double and the other a twin. Our favourite feature of the apartment is the balcony overlooking the garden and the fabulous view of Torbay. The balcony has a set of tables and chairs, perfect for relaxing with a drinks and enjoying the view.

Vomero is in an ideal location, close to the town and harbour, where there is a large selection of shops and restaurants. There are also many beaches and attractions within a short driving distance.

We stayed in the Venezia apartment for 2 weeks August/September, this is the first time when staying in self catering accommodation that we hadn't felt the need to wash all the crockery etc. before we used them. Everything was so clean and the apartment was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more! Our hosts Sean and Louise had thought of everything. Even before we arrived Louise sent us a list of places to eat and things to do/see and a suggestion that booking meals at that time was advisable which turned out to be very useful. On a table in the communal area there was a book of recommendations in which previous guests had written things they had enjoyed doing and visiting during their stay which is a great idea.

The accommodation is stunning and the gardens absolutely beautiful, we loved watching the birds have a drink and wash in the stone bird bath/fountain which was outside our apartment. The views from there were amazing too.

So when visiting Torquay if you would like lovely relaxing accommodation full of history and surrounded by stunning views with thoughtful friendly hosts we would highly recommend staying at the Vomero apartments.

We stayed in the Genova apartment, one of the larger apartments they have, and we have to say everything about it was stunning. The views from the balcony are amazing, the gardens are very well kept and have all you need, like barbecue, patio furniture and loads of kids toys aswell as beech equipment, the flat was very clean, had all the amenities that you require and the owners were extremely polite and as soon as you needed them for anything, they dealt with it. The apartment was very spacious having the three bedrooms and two bathrooms, its a short walk into the town centre and harbour. If your looking for an amazing base to enjoy your holiday we cant recommend this enough, thankyou so much Louise and Sean for making our stay in these uncertain times a joy. All the best for the future.

This is a delightful property in a great location. The house and apartments are lovely and in very good order with all you need utilities wise in each apartment. The gardens are fantastic but the views are stunning from the terrace.
You may see comments about the hill. Ok the property is on a hill but how else would you have such great views! The walk down to the harbour and restaurants takes a leisurely 10 minutes, its all down hill as a bonus. You can walk back up but the cab rank is right at the harbour so treat yourself to a 4 quid cab ride back up, its the best 4 quid you will spend. Lets face you are on holiday!
Louise and Sean are attentive hosts, are on site and available at all times but are discreet and not intrusive in anyway.
Really recommend this property and after talking to Sean there are big things ahead for Vomero as they take their ownership forward to new even higher standards.

Our studio flat was just as described: the balcony and view were superb and the gardens are also very attractive. The location might not suit all as (typically for Torquay) it's on a very steep hill. Louise and Sean were very keen to please and extremely prompt to act when we had a couple of (unpredictable) problems. They were also planning to replace the shower, which was problematic, as soon as possible.

Vomero was such a lucky find and we will return! The 1838 building is a gem - it's been beautifully restored with lots of period features and I loved the information provided on Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who lived here for a while. Most importantly for me however is the fact that everything was SPOTLESS and lots of cleaning materials were provided as standard.
The owners were brilliant too - lots of personal service and communication throughout the booking process, sending access instructions etc and in our case, the loan of some torches for the night time retrieval of a phone from the sea!
We stayed with our adult sons and appreciated the spacious rooms and the balcony with a stunning view which we made full use of as we chose the week of the heatwave. It was very peaceful as well. Parking can be a little tricky if you've got a big car but there is a space provided for each apartment.

We stayed at Valero for a week. It is situated on a very high winding hill, which we knew. We got taxis into town as the walk was impossible. The house is lovely but our apartment certainly needed a lot of work doing to it. We had the Napoli apartment with a double bed and a king-size bed or two single beds and two ensuite. The ensuite were extremely tiny and consisted of a very small shower and toilet and the sink was in the main bedroom, there was no other Bathroom and the ensuite almost too small to use. We were able to cook a simple meal with the saucepans provided and four plates cups dishes were provided the lounge, kitchen and dining area all in one and really quite small. The sofa was very very uncomfortable , but the balcony was nice and the sunshine throughout the day we had to be careful with the electricity because when we use the cooker if there was a phone charging then it blew the fuse so we had to be careful what we used at the same time. The shower was an electric shower with no pressure, but it served a purpose , the hosts were very nice and I think if these apartments are updated and refreshed they can be made much better but they are still very small. Did we enjoy our stay yes we made the most of it, would we stay there again no. Torquay has changed a lot in the last few years and I don't think that this is the best side to have accommodation. I think next time we go. We will really look around in the area that we are staying.

With 120 TA reviews of which 111 are 5*, most guests love Vomero. An 1838 Italian style villa of historical beauty, the house and apartments are in keeping with it’s age and character with older style furnishings and original features. Being a Grade II Listed building there are somethings which we are unable to change. Napoli is one of Vomero’s largest apartments and is suitable and large enough for a booking of 4 guests, all apartment sizes and room plans are on our website. The kitchen is supplied with everything needed so we’re unsure why you were only able to cook a simple meal? It has a fridge, microwave, full oven and hob, full set of pans and all utensils, the same as in most homes. It is supplied with 8’s of everything including cutlery, glasses, mugs, plates and bowls not 4 as mentioned. The cooker fuse tripped as a phone charger was plugged in, our fuse board will trip out if faults are found on the circuit, we recommend you buy a new charger for your own safety. Napoli under went an extensive pre-season deep clean and paint and the sofas were replaced with a quality corner sofa which we find comfy, foam filled cushions would offer more support but this sofa has luxury feather filled cushion backs which do need to be plumped up daily. The two en-suites are shower rooms and are of an adequate size for most during a holiday stay, electric showers will never be great but this is something we are aware of and where possible are updating to power showers. Vomero is situated on a hill giving us the most stunning sea views across the bay! The hill can be challenging, especially for the elderly, or those less able but cabs are readily available. We are located in the sought after leafy Wellswood conservation area, quiet and peaceful, the most beautiful part of Torquay. We are disappointed we were unable to meet your expectations during your stay. We are happy to remain no 1 out of 46 in Torquay on Tripadvisor and are proud of what we provide and have achieved at Vomero.

We would highly recommend staying in Vomero Holiday Apartments. The Genova 2 bedroom apartment is very spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean; with a stunning sea-view. The apartment is ideally located within a 10 minute easy walk to Torquay harbour and town. The hosts Louise and Sean couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. We stayed with our 7 month old baby and they kindly placed a cot, highchair, baby utensils and toys within the apartment. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. A stunning place to stay and we will definitely be returning.

Hi, Unfortunately we do not have any of our large family apartments left in August, we do have our Venezia apartment (2 adults and 2 small children) and our Roma apartment for 2 adults available for the week 25th August to 4th September, the tariff for Roma is £430.00 and Venezia £550.00 however if you were to book both apartments the tariff would be reduced to a total of £900.00. Tripadvisor will not allow us to provide email address in this reply but you can find us on google. If you would like to reserve an apartment please email us. Kind regards John & Angela

Thank you for your question, the electric meters have now been removed in the family rooms and therefore no extra charges.
