I had a lovely time here thanks to Craig and the rest of the staff who made our stay so pleasant. A quite place very close to the city centre and to the harbour. There are plenty of things to do around the area and the staff is more than happy to give recommendations.

If you opt for either of the rooms overlooking the Pool area you won't be disappointed (i;m sure all the other rooms are lovely also but these were great) I stayed with my elderly parents and Partner for one night having only booked earlier that day. Tea was served by Ian on our arrival and we were made to feel... More

Just back from a two night stay as a couple at The Marstan, was a really relaxing time and was a fantastic base for us. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The ensuite facilities were fabulous. The owners Ian & Craig with their rescue labrador Harvey made us really welcome. It's only a 10 minute walk down to the... More

Spent one night here while walking the SW coast path. It is well located for this as it is less than 200 metres from the path. We had a long walk that day and tea followed by a shower and then a spell in the hot tub was the perfect way to finish. We had an early start the next... More

We really enjoyed our stay at The Marstan, very friendly hosts in a beautiful house. The rooms we stayed in were classed as small doubles with en-suites. We found these of very comfortable size with great sized bathrooms, spotlessly clean throughout hotel.Everything you needed was there. The breakfast was superb with very obliging staff.0verall the house has been stylishly decorated and furnished... We stayed in September 2016. We checked in late and headed straight out for food. Torquay by night was shocking. Not the English Rivera I was led to believe. For every doorway there was a vagrant. All bars had bouncers, and they needed them ! However the B&B was nice. I was happy to get through the door after our... More

We had a really pleasant stay at the Marstan in September 2016. As other reviewers pointed out the hosts, Ian and Craig, show a remarkable hospitality. The house has a nice typical british atmosphere and the breakfast with self made yogurt and full cooked breakfast with local produce is delicious. The hot tub in the garden is a special delight... It's always hard to judge a hotel from the internet, but we were very happy with our decision to choose The Marstan. The building and decor was beautiful and Ian and Craig are great hosts...so helpful and friendly...easy to tell they love what they do. I wish we could have stayed more than one night.
