From the get go I instantly loved this place, the owners Julia and Jamie welcomed us very warmly and explained the lay out/entrances and exits and pool ect. Came here with my best friend for a girls get away staycation for 4 days and the location of this guest house is prime! It’s close enough to the seafront(5 minute walk) yet far enough from the hustle bustle noise of the seafront (still a 5 minute walk) so the location is ideal. We booked twin room which is reasonably priced, the room was very clean and presentation staff offered to clean it everyday we stayed. The room was light, spacious, modern, had VERY comfortable beds/pillows and I slept like a log every night, the room was well furnished, contained tv, mini fridge, hair dryer and other amenities and the bathroom had a very spacious shower! Which allowed you to change the water pressure and temperature which is great as made my stay more personal(it’s the little things) I’ve stayed in many guest houses over the years with dingey bathrooms and no good showers which leak but you can tell the bathroom had been recently done and a lot of care put into it. Breakfast was included in the price which amazed me and you had the option of a continental buffet style with many options or hot food made to order and If your like me I had both! (Asked for extra bacon which staff were more then happy to add to my breakfast so everything on the menu is adjustable with no dramas) Julia is really warm and friendly and as soon as you come down offered a hot beverage in the morning of your choice, she is very attentive and genuinely very friendly, clearly cares about her guests! I would really recommend this place to anyone and I will be coming back go torquay and staying in this guest house again. The place in general is very clean, cosy and each room is decorated/furnished differently making it really quirky and inviting. You can tell the owners have put their personal touch to it and have added elements of their travels to it and decorated the walls with local artists work too. In the room was an in-depth handbook literally requiring everything you need however Jamie and Julia are the fountain of knowledge of torquay and recommended us lots of places/things to do. Also forgot to mention guest house comes with pool (spf, beach towels, throws provided which is very thoughtful) which Jamie was really attentive in setting up every morning and getting the sun beds out, the pool is well maintained, had the perfect temperature and came with lilos and pool noodles so you don’t need to bring your own. Anyways please do come visit this gem and when your here order the banana surprise from the bar at the guest house it is delicious.

We spent 3 nights at The Cimon and had a fantastic time. Very attentive staff and owners who provided a great level of service, COVID guidelines were managed well. Location was a little out of town (around a 15 minute walk) which suited us as it was quiet at night time. Only a few minutes walk to the nearest beach. It was a bonus to have a heated outdoor pool which was pleasant for an afternoon swim! Lovely room spacious, light and airy. We had a superior double as it was the last one available when we booked, but it was excellent and we felt very good value for money. Personalised feel as it’s only 12 rooms I believe which we prefer to the larger hotels. They were very helpful in recommending places in the area to visit as well as the best restaurants. If you want a luxury B&B in Torquay then The Cimon is the one!

I stayed at the Cimon with my two teenage sons in a hugely spacious family room with a sea view. The beds (including the fold out beds)were really comfortable and everything was spotless. Breakfast was great and the hotel itself is really well located for both the shops and the stunning harbour. Julia and Jamie were excellent hosts and it felt very homely. The downstairs seating area and bar were such a bonus and we can’t wait to come back in the summer and use the pool!

We had an excellent time at the Cimon. Parking was easy as was checking in- which was informative. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. My husband and I went there for a few days and plan to go again. It was a particularly hot few days so the pool came into its own. The location is good too as it’s only 10 mins walk to the beach but it’s quite a hill (only for a few minutes). The owners are friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was good and a wide range. The place has a homely feel where you can chat easily to other guests if you want to. The only ways I would improve it would be firstly to have a toilet near the pool in the reception area (otherwise you have to go to your room each time) and it would be great if sandwiches or a light lunch could be purchased from the bar. Currently you have to go to a shop or order a takeaway if you want any proper food for lunch. However there is a fridge in the room so this can be used to stock up. Overall it was a very relaxing and lovely experience - I’d recommend the hotel and we will go there again. Easy to find, free onsite parking, near the beach, heated pool, sunloungers, comfortable bed and clean room - you couldn’t ask for much more!

Thanks so much for the lovely review - much appreciated. We will have a think about that idea for serving lunch - I think as we are in our first season we were cautious but does seem it would be nice for guests to be able to grab a bite! Yes, apologies about the lack of toilet on the ground floor - it is out of action this season due to Coronavirus - we have it for staff only at the moment for their safety (reduced touch points) We hope to get it back in action soon! So glad you had a good stay and would love to welcome you back!

Owners Julia and Jamie and their team could not have done more to make our 3 night stay more comfortable or enjoyable.

Our well-appointed and spacious room was spotlessly clean and had an excellent sea view,

Parking was easy,

Our breakfasts were perfectly cooked and presented,

Our hosts clearly put a great deal of time, thought and energy into getting every detail right,

Their knowledge and good taste has enabled them to select shrubs, furniture, features and art which are both interesting and sometimes quirky which further enhances the overall 'feel' at Cimon.

The patio area overlooking the heated pool looked very comfortable.

Next time the crocodile gets it !

This hotel is amazing. The staff and management are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and have every amenity you could need. The breakfast is cooked fresh and i would definitely recommend the full English. They also have a pool which is cleaned every day and they provide towels for the guest. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just returned from our 2 week summer holiday, Jamie & Julia were fantastic hosts, both very knowledgeable of the area, offering information on trips, restaurants & shopping! Their staff were lovely, breakfast was catered for quickly and the rooms were always clean & tidy and external areas kept spotless.

We took our grandson (10 months) who absolutely loved the outdoor heated pool even in the rain, the gardens & pool area was well looked after we could have been aboard when the sun came out with the palm tress & other exotic plants.

Nothing was ever too much trouble for them, had fabulous spacious lounge area to relax in the evening after returning with a well stocked bar incl. locally sourced alcohol.

Honestly felt like we were walking into our own home every time we came back from an outing or eating out.

Will be returning whether be as a family of 5 or just myself & my husband for a break.

My daughter and I have just spent the most wonderful week at The Cimon where Julia and Jamie made us feel so welcome.
Our room was spacious with a lovely bathroom and had modern fittings. The bed was really comfortable and we had a great night's sleep every night.
The mini fridge in the room was one of the selling points for me as it allowed me to store bits in to make picnic lunches, a godsend when you don't have a huge budget!
The complimentary tea tray was replenished every day and the bed made which was always nice to come back to after a long day.
Most importantly everything in the room worked! No blown bulbs or dodgy showers, everything in the room was practical and well thought out.
The heated pool was also one of the reasons why I chose to stay here and it was a real luxury. It was never overcrowded even in the height of season and on hot days. It was so clean and warm, we really it made good use of it. A beautiful place to relax on a sunlounger with a book and a cold drink from the well stocked and reasonably priced bar. I particularly liked the locally produced gins that were on offer and the complimentary pool towels was a lovely touch.
The breakfast......well it was just perfect. A menu of hot food that was so tasty and fresh and a substantial selection of cold food to help yourself to such as Cereals, fruit bowls, yoghurts and Danish pastries. Look out for the breakfast specials we had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs one morning which is my favourite!
The team in the morning were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was kept topped up with tea, coffee and toast and the breakfasts came out hot and well presented.
The lounge offered a cozy place to relax and there was a good selection of board games for all the guests to make use of.
There was ample free parking and the town and beach was about a 5 minute walk away.
This is far far the best hotel I have stayed at in this country. Everything exceeded my expectations and we really didn't want to go home.
Thank you Jamie and Julie for looking after us and making us so feel so welcome and comfortable in your beautiful hotel. You've really thought of everything and made it a special to stay.
We are so looking forward to coming to stay again with you in the future.

My partner & I stayed here for 4 nights, we would usually go abroad so wanted to find somewhere nice but still affordable. Julia & Jamie were so lovely & welcoming, they really went above & beyond to make sure we were comfortable. It’s a great location, really close to all the shops and restaurants near by.
The room was spotless and had everything we needed.
We did have an issue with our shower, but we were offered an alternative place to shower in the meantime, they were very apologetic and the issue was dealt with as quickly as possible and we were also offered drinks free of charge which was very unnecessary but very generous.
Breakfast was decent and had a range of selections. The pool was lovely and slightly warmed with a really comfortable and relaxing area. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Torquay.
All of the staff here were really lovely & friendly, massive thank you for giving us such a nice break away.

We took the bus in July so I expect it is still running. It was a lovely trip. Buses in torquay are reliable and reasonably priced. The weather looks good for this week and the Cimon is a fab hotel. Enjoy!

This should be forwarded to the hotel not us (the guest) as we, the guest are asking the original question to have the details corrected by the hotel as their response to our review was not accurate. The hotel suggested WE the customer purchase fresh milk from Tesco when they could easily have obliged. It was disgraceful hospitality and we are disappointed the hotel has defended itself with false facts when an apology is what was required. Trip Advisor should not uphold this behaviour and should insist the hotel’s response is corrected or remove it

It was lovely having you and the family stay and we're glad you had a good time. The licenses and insurance for the bar and pool area mean we can only open them up for guests staying here I'm afraid. Good luck with the move :)
