We stayed here for 3 nights, Steve was very warm and welcoming to us, he has a wicked sense of humour! The hot fresh breakfast was served to our room at a time of our choice, so essentially breakfast in bed, the social distancing was adhered to at all times, with hand sanitizer available on the reception desk, the bedroom was very comfortable with lovely decor and a nice big flat screen tv. It was just a short walk down hill to the main town. Thanks Steve for making us so welcome, comfortable and more importantly safe. We will definitely book again.

Arrived by train on Friday afternoon. After eating by the Harbour, we walked five minutes up to the hotel. As soon as you leave the Harbour/Seafront in Torquay you are pretty much on the assent. The walk wasn't too bad at all. When you look from the harbour, for some hotels, transport would be a must. Not so for Yardley Manor. We were met in reception by Steve. Given our room "key", followed by an explanation of Covid rules they'd had to introduce. Mask use, available sanitizer etc. He explained that breakfasts were delivered to our room at a time of our choice, he told us how to order for the following morning... Sure enough a hot fresh breakfast and drinks, bang on time every morning without the need to even get up and dressed.
Our room was very spacious, clean, Great shower, hot and powerful, again clean, with shower gel supplied. Good sized TV, plenty of storage space too.
Our room overlooked the outdoor pool, with sea views.
Hotel Bars in previous hotels I've been in are usually a room with a bar, The Griffin Bar in the basement is much more. A Great Pub. Plenty of seating, background music, TV screens, occasional Live Music,
Outdoor seating and great staff.... A real bonus.
A short walk to Restaurants (Amici,Italian. Saltwater, fish and chips) and Bars (Hole in the wall) all recommended.
We loved this place, its all you need.

We stayed one night at the Yardley Manor Hotel, in 2 standard double rooms and we felt pretty pleased with our choice.
The rooms were comfortable and very clean. I think I'd want something bigger if I was staying longer and there are bigger rooms available.
We enjoyed the downstairs Griffin bar, both for an evening drink and as a venue for our excellent breakfast.
The Hotel is situated in a good position for an easy walk to the harbour and good restaurants and was good value for money.

Travelling with friends for 3 x nights, for a quiet seaside retreat.
The rooms had your basic requirements and necessities, HOWEVER:
Shower door broken
Bed bugs/flea bites for all guests
Single glazed windows to hear every car door and seagull within a 10 mile radius

Travelling whilst in a pandemic was going to bring it’s challenges, and we were grateful to be able to book into a local hotel with a fantastic location just minutes from the dreary town centre. HOWEVER:

The receptionist (who I may assume is also the owner of the establishment) made us feel particularly unwelcome when meeting in our group, and challenged us on our views of coronavirus. I did not feel comfortable having this discussion.

He also did not discuss the breakfast situation/changes and therefore we went hungry on both mornings as we did not understand how to make orders to our room.

I would rate this hotel higher if I was not still in shock of our unpleasant weekend - as the beer garden/outdoor area was enjoyable. I would like to thank the two bartenders working the night of 31/07/20 for their kindness and excellent customer service, who also provided 2 for 1 drinks for guests of the hotel.

Shame on you, that's right.... Shame on you and your other self centered unruly cronies and with your malicious reviews submitted,. What we have here is is a prime example of how our country's new generation of adults are behaving. you had no regard or thoughts of Covid19 or the government introduced procedures that this Hotel had to work to and enforce, you and your group interacted with disregard to covid secure measures, went bed hopping in different rooms, different people in different rooms each night, shenanigans with locals and your group with no thought of any consequences to not only covid19 disease but sexual as well, you are the first this hotel has had to deal with under covid secure conditions who blatantly ignored ... well ... every covid secure rule in place,, when you were reminded of the procedures and issued a warning that to continue would result in your stay being terminated you all decide to write malicious reviews,, SHAME ON YOU.

Booking this hotel and then reading the reviews left us unsure as to what to expect. It was originally booked for one person and the booking site was contacted straight away and informed, they said that was fine (we had free cancellation so we thought rather than cancelling we would just amend the booking) - to our shock we was charged £15 by the hotel upon arrival for this when we was told it was all sorted by the booking site.

The room was spacious, very comfortable bed but that was as far as it goes. The shower was still dirty and I found hair from previous guests so clearly the shower hadn’t been cleaned, hair clips also in the room on the floor, We was unable to have a shower one morning due to no water so we washed in the sink and upon speaking with the obnoxious owner he stated that it wasn’t a wash room indicating the room was flooded because the was a wet towel on the floor, we would not have needed to wash in the sink had his hotel provided a working shower, anyhow we had hot water the following water - NO COLD WATER so yet again we was unable to shower because the water was boiling hot and we thought it was pointless even raising it because no doubt the owner would make some sarcastic judgement about the never being any issues before with the shower.

I read a previous review about this being faulty towers, they are certainly right and I would personally avoid staying here unless you enjoy confrontation rather than a peaceful break away.

This hotel is like home from home, the most friendliness of staff, always go out their way to speak to you from every department, including bar area, restaurant, front of house. We arrived with our little puppy dog, we felt very welcome, very dog friendly. Entertainment on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon which was excellent. We didn't feel the need to drink in the Town with having our little puppy it was easier to stay in the hotel, where we had everything you could wish for. Kate the bar lady made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was amazing, very good organisation, fill the menu out night before, when you arrive for breakfast your table number is all set out, as pre ordered night before, Tea , Coffee ,Juices etc.. the choice of food is very good, cooked breakfast , cereals, muffins ,toast and plenty more. The restaurant lady (sorry can't remember her name / owner), is amazing nothing too much trouble. This is a lovely family run hotel, definitely recommend and we will be back. Steve the owner is so accommodating, fantastic service. A little tip would be to contact them direct as we did.

Just returned from a lovely stay at this hotel. We were met by the owner who was very friendly and Informative about the hotel, and the room was ready early so let us check in early too which was great. The room was warm, clean and lovely white towels. Also the view was good too. Our dog was made to feel right at home too. A very comfy bed also. A great breakfast, lovely and hot with friendly staff. Just a short 5mins walk down into town/harbour where the pubs and restaurants are. There is also a bar at the hotel called the Griffin which has live music at the weekend, with reasonable bar prices too. Would definitely recommend and return if in torquay again.

Stayed at the Yardley Manor Hotel for August bank holiday with my partner. We arrived before our room was ready and asked if we was ok to park our car and explore the town, Steve was very helpful and gave lots of tips about routes into Torquay. We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time, location was great, just a short walk into Torquay Harbour. Whenever we had a query or question Steve was always helpful and attentive. We have booked to return for August Bank Holiday this year.

You sir are not a nice person, you got a price as a guide of £40 a person pppn from John, when ringing back to confirm you tried to say that it was quoted for £40 for two nights per person, you tried to say that with 20 people you should get it, when you said it three times the owner told you then in that case we cannot offer you the booking,, you said F**k o**!! end of story, I was there in the office on both occasions and the owner got it right. your vile to do what you did and what you do now.. look at this the other way round sunnydays from Worcestershire , you are the one that's in the wrong, its your attitude that stinks,, just read your comments and threats,, believe me the owner here can look after himself.. he already has with you trying it on, you didnt get your way and as so are malicious.
