GreenLeaders Bronze level
Adult only B&B offering quiet elevated position on one of Torquay's 7 hills, within a 5 minutes gentle sloped walk of Torquay harbour with its array of bars, restaurants and clubs and buses and ferries across the Bay. All rooms are spacious with en suites and all first floor rooms have sea views. These sea views are as a result of our elevated position, we do not claim to be seafront! There is also free off street parking for all guests. We are motorbike friendly with secure flat parking at the side of the house, and also offer use of our fresh water wash down and drying area for wet diving , sailing or motorbike gear. Due to the elevated position of The Redholme, guests with mobility issues may find the sloped driveway access to the house difficult. It also goes without saying that the return from the harbour to The Redholme is uphill. If you find walking uphill difficult then we suggest you stay elsewhere. Complaining later on a review site is bad form.

The Hosts Paul & Mel are so friendly and welcoming. My wife and I have stayed here before and will do so again. Mel leaves a bag of fresh baked muffins on the side after a super breakfast for the Guests. The Ground floor room was spacious with a good size on-suite and small sofa to relax. Car park space for all Guests added bonus.

Thanks, and pleased you are planning the return trip!....ta for the car park mention, spaces are a premium at this side of Torquay, being so close to the Harbour area, but here, you have your own parking space for the duration! Hope to hear from you, give Mel the direct call or on the website. Thank you. Mel and Paul.

Beautiful big room with seating area. Spotlessly clean, great breakfast, hosts couldn't do enough for us! Close to the centre of Torquay so didn't have to use the car all the time. Highly recommended.

Thanks for your time to post this Review, which we appreciate. Hopefully will see you both again? Book direct, it's cheaper and much more personal!.....hope we ticked most boxes, Paul sorted the car parking out a few years ago, so every Guest has a spot in the busiest part of Torquay, and so close to the Harbour area. Thanks again, Mel and Paul.

We discovered The Redholme last year and have just returned home from our third visit in 15 months. Mel and Paul are the perfect hosts of this gem of a B&B. They are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They are also very knowledgeable about the area and provide tips and ideas of places to visit whatever the weather. The Redholme itself has parking facilities - an absolute must for Torquay and is in a perfect location that is quiet yet only a ten minute stroll to the harbour and amenities such as restaurants. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean and had a sea view. The hospitality tray included a variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate and biscuits and was refreshed every day. The breakfast was amazing with a very varied menu and Mel also bakes fantastic muffins each day which we had at lunch time. We can’t wait to return in the not too distant future.

Thanks Colin....great Review which we really appreciate. Most of our Guests are now 90% returning...(if their dates are ok!) sadly this site, works on a formula which some exploit which gives a false impression of us! Our return Guests tend not to post a Review, they have stayed, and return. But, according to a well known 'Booking' site, The Redholme is the no.1 B@B in Torbay. Strange the way things work! Ta for the Review Colin, look forward to seeing you two again. Mel and Paul.

We didn’t do a lot of research into where to stay so randomly picked this B&B. We did really well! We had a decent sized room with a very large bed, all decorated nicely with everything you could need- I’m sure if we did find anything else that we needed they would have accommodated us willingly. Lovely, friendly hosts that made us feel welcome. Excellent breakfast. Lots of choice, even a bag of homemade muffins to go! The location was perfect for us in a quiet spot, a 10 minute leisurely walk to the harbour. The hill was fairly steep which wasn’t an issue for us but we were given fair warning immediately after we had booked. A first class B&b with first class hosts.

Thanks for this Review, and pointing out our elevated location, which yes, we point out to Guests when booking. Being elevated gives the added bonus of having a sea view from all first floor Guest rooms, in quiet road and the stroll back from the Harbour is easy....just do it at your own pace! We look forward to seeing you again, and book direct for a cheaper price! Thankyou, Mel and Paul.
